Abstract

Teachers are experiencing obstacles to develop a logical, systematic, analytical and critical way of thinking, while the learning curriculum principle of 2013 must be centered on the students.One model that can make students learn independently and collaborate with friends is the Jigsaw model.One of the media that can be utilized in the learning process is Kahoot media.Kahoot can provide an effective and enjoyable atmosphere that influences the seriousness of the students in learning.This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Jigsaw type Cooperative model with Kahoot Media support for students ' interests and learning outcomes.Research using Quasi Experimental Desaign type Nonequivalent Control Group Design with sample X MIPA 4 as Control class and X MIPA 2 as experimental class.Data collection techniques Using test instruments, polls, observations and interviews.Data analysis techniques are performed quantitatively, descriptive percentage and qualitative descriptive.The results of the research are known that there is a significant difference of interest in students learning experiments and controls of 9,66%> 4.01%.The average learning outcomes of experimental and control students are 81 > 78. Experimental class classifications of 89% and control of 80%.The average N-Gain class of experimentation and control there is a significant difference of 0.51 > 0.43. The level of learning is 100% in percentage in both experimental and control classes. 81% of students gave excellent responses and 19% of the responses to both the learning with some statements reached a percentage of 100% satisfaction in the categories strongly agreed and agreed.Teacher response interviews with learning showed a positive response.The conclusion of this research is the cooperative model of the media-assisted Jigsaw type Kahoot effectively increase the interest and learning outcomes of grade X SMA Negeri 1 Sokaraja

Abstract

The study aims to analyze students' scientific literacy level on knowledge, competencies, and attitudes aspect, also analyzing the correlation between scientific literacy aspects of knowledge with competencies, attitudes with competencies, knowledge with attitudes. The study was conducted using a survey method with a cross-sectional design. The entire student of class XI MIPA of State High Schools in Demak regency academic year 2017/2018 were chosen as the population. The method in taking the sample was Stratified Random Sampling. The sample of the study is 304 students. Test, questionnaire, documentation, and interview were methods used in collecting the data. The result showed that students' scientific literacy level on knowledge at 37,54% on the “low” category, students' competencies at 36,75% on the “low” category, and students' attitudes at 68,11% on the “good” category. Correlation test results between scientific literacy aspects of knowledge with competencies obtained correlation coefficient at 0,534, between attitudes and competencies obtained correlation coefficient at 0,172, between attitudes with knowledge obtained correlation coefficient at -0,094. Based on the result, the level of students' scientific literacy on knowledge and competencies aspects were classified in the low category. The level of students' scientific literacy on attitudes aspect was classified in the good category. The correlation between knowledge with competencies aspect has a positive correlation in the medium category. The correlation between attitudes with competencies aspect has a positive correlation in the very weak category. But, the correlation between knowledge with attitudes aspect was not correlated.

Abstract

This research aims to recognize the notion from teacher faculty students as millennial generation towards life skills through design lesson and practising implementation. The data was conducted on July 2018, based on academic calendar in 2018/2019. The data was collected from 55 teacher faculty students who were devided into groups that took practice subject and laboratory management courses. The research was a descriptive quantitative research. It was used to collect and to obtain the data which could be quantified with number. The descriptive research is used to describe and to interpret object which are based on the true datas. Meanwhile, the descriptive quantitative research is used to explain existing phenomenon which uses number to illustrate characteristic individually or group. The data collection technique used questioner and descriptive statistic analysis. The general proficiency in the study was about personal skill (thinking skill and self-awareness skill). The research findings about the notion from student teacheras millennial generation through personal skill and social skill were primely 92.72% about proficient thought, good category for self-awareness proficiency at 92.67%, primely category for verbal proficiency at 82.87%, and primely category for cooperative proficiency at 93.72%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the effectiveness of the Group Investigation and Team Quiz learning models on learning outcomes and the character of cooperation on the material of the nervous system. The Research using Pre-Experimental Design with One Group Pretest Posttest Design.The study population was all students of Class XI IPA SMAN 16 Semarang. The study uses the saturation sampling technique. Research data in the form of cognitive, affective, psychomotor learning outcomes, cooperative character values, activities, student and teacher responses. Cognitive learning results are obtained from classical completeness calculations and N-gain test. The results showed that students' classical completeness was 86.66%. N-gain test results of 100% of students are in the criteria of being medium and high. The value of the character of student cooperation with good and very good criteria is 96.2%. Affective learning outcomes are very good criteria with a value of 87%. Psychomotor learning outcomes are highly skilled criteria with a value of 82.88%. The conclusion of the research is the application of the Group Investigation and Team Quiz Learning Model effectively to the learning outcomes and the character of student cooperation on the nervous system material at SMAN 16 Semarang.

Abstract

Based on observations and interviews the results of learning activities are disrupted by the school ,teacher and student agenda. Obstacles in the learning process impact the learning objectives and lack of the classical submission of the classifications gained by the students. This research aims to know and describe the effectiveness of the application of blended learning models for learning outcomes and conservation attitudes of MAN 1 Surakarta students. This research uses quasi experiment. The design that has been used is Matching Pretest – Posttest Comparison Grub Design, two research samples consisting of male experiment classes and female experiments were given pretest, treatment and posttest. The population in the study was class XI of MAN 1 Surakarta student. The samples used are class XI MIA 4 and XI MIA 5. Analysis of the Posttest value using the N-gain test. The N-Gain test results show the difference in the learning outcomes of both experimental classes. Increased outcomes of female class higher (64%) than the male`s class (51%). Nevertheless based on the criteria N-gain both classes are included in the medium criteria. The number of students per N-gain criterion is also different, in the male experiment Class 7 students enter the high, 23 students are medium category and 6 students enter the low category while in the female class 16 students enter high category, 19 medium category and no entry category low. The entire sample submission was 76%, in the men's class of 69.5% and in the women's class 82.8% the results of the students ' attitude recapitulation showed that students in the class were higher than the son's grade, but both were still included in the excellent category. Teachers and students give good responses to the learning model applied. The conclusion of the study is the implementation of learning blended models to improve the learning outcomes and attitudes of the students ' responsibilities.

Abstract

Tinjomoyo Tourism Forest Area is located in Sukorejo, Gunungpati sub-district, Semarang has ​​57.5 hectares with natural potentials, one of them is dragonflies. Dragonflies have an important role because they are a bioindicator for monitoring water quality. The objectives of the study are to analyze dragonflies diversity and describe the feasibility of dragonflies species diversity booklet in Tinjomoyo Tourism Forest used as a supplement of biodiversity material. This study was designed by a modified Research and Development (R&D) research method. The results of observing dragonflies diversity are in three observation lanes in the Tinjomoyo Tourism Forest Area found 27 species, from 7 families of 2 sub-orders with 2 types of which are endemic to the Java island. The overall of index value on the Shannon-Wiener species diversity index scored 2.68, the Evenness index obtained 0.81 and the species dominance index obtained a value of 0.09. The Dragonfly Diversity Booklet that has been developed get very decent criteria to use as supplement material of biodiversity topic for tenth science grade students. The results of the acquisition of 81.82% of material experts and 95.83% of media experts. Teacher responses get a percentage score of 94.44%, responses of students get a percentage of 92% and readability test get a percentage of 92%.

Abstract

The video-based on local wisdom and ethnobiology in Komodo Island is a learning media that utilizes the Komodo Island society’s local knowledge in the utilization of natural resources to fulfill the daily needs and social efforts in nature conservation. This video applied as learning media that can bring out one of the characteristics of conservation, which is the attitude of caring for the environment. This study is aimed to analyze the feasibility and effectiveness of video that is based on local wisdom and ethnobiology in Komodo Island as a learning media in the study of PLH. Based on the result of observation in SMA 1 Bae Kudus, it needs a learning media that is based on local wisdom and ethnobiology in sustainable development subject matter and environmental pollution to help students in the learning process. This study was a Research and Development study by using one group pretest-posttest design which is done in the tenth-grade students in SMA 1 Bae Kudus. The samples were from X MIPA 3 Class and X MIPA 2 Class. The result of video eligibility obtained an average value of 90.2% with very decent criteria, its comes from media validation which obtained a value of 90,83 % with very valid and material validation which obtained a value of 72,92 % with very valid. The result of the video effectiveness comes from students learning outcomes and conservation attitudes. The students learning outcomes based on the calculation of N-gain which obtained a percentage of 86,11% with medium to high criteria and classical completeness which obtained a percentage of 86.11% calculated from the posttest value reaching ≥75% of the total number of students accepted by KKM 75 and conservation attitude obtain an average yield of observers, friends and themselves at 83.79% with very high criteria. Students and teachers gave a good response to videos based on local wisdom and ethnobiology in Komodo Island. Students recycle household waste. Based on this, it can be concluded that the video based on local wisdom and ethnobiology in Komodo Island is feasible and effective as a learning media in PLH subjects.

Abstract

Activity-based books contain features that emphasize students’ activity, therefore suitable for Invertebrate learning, because have material characteristics that require practical activities. The purpose of this study was to produce activity-based textbooks on Animalia-Invertebrate material, which valid, practical, and easy to be used by senior high school 10th grade students. Meanwhile, the specific purposes of this research were to describe the validity of instructional textbook based on content, linguistic, and presentation validity; to describe the practicality of activity-based book based on the implementation of learning, book readability of textbooks using Fry chart; and to describe the student's response to the ease of use of activity-based textbooks on Animalia-Invertebrate materials by senior high school 10th grade students. This research was conducted from August 2017 until March 2018. This developmental research was referred to 4D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate), but disseminate stage was not done. The development of textbooks was conducted in the Biology department of UNESA and limited trials were conducted on 20 students of SMAN 12 Surabaya class of 10th MIA 2. Validation, practically based on implementation and readability, and student’s responses were analyzed descriptive-quantitatively. The results showed that the developed textbooks got a very decent category mode. The percentage of textbook implementation was 100% and the textbook readability was at the level of legibility of 10. In addition, the students gave positive responses, the average score was 99.74% (positive category). Hence, it can be concluded that the textbook was valid, practical, and easy to be used for Biology learning.

Abstract

Environmental condition has become increasingly fragile in recent decades. Concern for the environment can help restore environmental condition. Therefore, environmental care is a character that must be implemented by school at each educational level. Sekolah Indonesia Kota Kinabalu (SIKK) has functioned as the center point and become the main/coordinator school for education service Indonesian children in Sabah, Malaysia. It was supposed that people of SIKK become the role model and example for them who take on education in a community learning center in the whole Sabah and Serawak, Malaysia in building the character of environmental care on students.This research aimed to describe the way of character building of environmental care on student in SIKK, Malaysia. This study is a case study which focuses on the way of character building of environmental care on student in SIKK, Malaysia. The data collection uses interviews, observation, and documentation. Then, tested using triangulation process.The result shows that SIKK has made policy which is related to environmental care, made a habit of caring for the environment, held various activities which is related to environmental care, and giving appropriate proponent facilities for character building of environmental care. Yet, still there are some factors which impede the process of student character building on environmental care in SIKK among internal factor in the form of student awareness, and external factor in the form of family factor and surrounding people.Based on the explanation, it can be concluded that SIKK has made an effort to instill the character of caring for the environment in various ways. The obstacle factor in student character building on environmental care included internal factor and external factor. Inhibiting factors can be overcome by positive reinforcement of the teacher toward students and holding monitoring and evaluation meetings related to the development of student behavior together with parents of students.

Abstract

These days, critical thinking skills is one of competency that should be developed in students. Critical thinking skills is the ability of a person spotting condition or phenomenon and able to provide judgment according to their prior knowledge. School as an educational organizer has an important role in nurturing and evaluating students critical thinking skills through teaching-learning activity. Critical thinking skills can be developed by using learning methods, learning models, and evaluation in learning activity. This study capturing how the critical thinking skills of Mungkid 1 Public Senior High School 11th grade students in animal tissue topic. This study is a qualitative study with analysis method. Data of this study was taken using observation, interview, test, and questionnaire. The result shows that 53,62% of students belong to low critical thinking skills category due to lacking of variety learning method in the teaching-learning activity (using conventional method instead of variety of models). Also the questions given to the students didn’t support critical thinking skills approach.
