Abstract

Autism is a neurological disorder that occurs due to birth defects and abnormalities that arise during the age of a toddler, abnormal development that is marked by disruption of communication, social interaction, and behavior. One effort to minimize the disorder that occurs in children with autism is therapy, one of them is diet therapy for autistic children. The diet that is often done in children with autism is GFCF (Gluten Free Casein Free). This study aims to explain the social interactions in autistic children who do diet therapy and those who do not take diet therapy at the Talenta KB-TK (Playgroup-Kindergarten) Semarang. This research uses the qualitative method. The main subject of this study is two autistic children who applied diet therapy and two autistic children who do not apply diet therapy. The data collection uses the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data is analyzed, and then the data is presented by drawing conclusions about the meaning of the data that has been collected. The results of this study indicate the difference of the social interaction of autistic children who apply the diet and who do not. The social interactions of autistic children who apply diet therapy at KB-TK Talenta Semarang are the existence of eye contact, flat facial expressions when invited to communicate, using body language when communicating, turning when called with voice or touch after several time yet no initiative to speak, joining friends yet no interaction, understanding the daily commands correctly. In the opposite, the social interactions of autistic children who do not apply the diet therapy are little eye contacts, flat face expression, using body language in communicating, inconsistent respond to a calling, one can speak while other only say few words, disengage with friends, understanding the commands yet not right.

Abstract

Baby care which is done from the birth age is very influential on its development and growth. Baby care in each region certainly has its own uniqueness based on with the beliefs and culture of the local community. Based on this, this research is carried out to describe how baby care by the Sasak tribe community in Sade Village, Central Lombok as one of the Tribes in Indonesia. Culture and trust in baby care is one of the things that influence children's development and growth. This study uses qualitative research method with the type of ethnographic research on the Sasak tribe in the Sade Village, Central Lombok. Data collection in this study includes interviews, observation, and documentation. Interview respondents in this study were 7 people, including village chief, village midwife, belian (shaman), and 4 people of the Sasak tribe community in Sade Village. The baby care which is carried out by the Sasak people in Sade Village is still done traditionally (merereng) yet still receives modern baby care techniques. Baby care is carried out from generation to generation based on the culture of the local community. The Sasak tribe in the Sade village of still believes in the role of belian (shaman) in the care of babies. There are restrictions and recommendations that are trusted by the Sasak tribe in the Sade village, in the form of restrictions for mothers and babies.

Abstract

The speaking ability for early childhood is very important for the provision of adulthood. At this time, children are easier to absorb stimuli received from the surrounding environment, therefore the speaking ability is very appropriate to be stimulated from an early age. One way that can be done to improve children's ability to speak is with new and enjoyable learning methods. Through the Student Team Achievement Division method, it is hoped that it can help children develop their speaking skills. This study aims to determine the differences in the increase in the speaking ability of children aged 3-4 years through the Student Team Achievement Division method at KB (Playgroup) Cempaka Ngadipuro District Dukun Magelang Regency. This research is a quantitative research using the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design approach. The population is all students aged 3-4 years in the KB Cempaka Ngadipuro in Dukun District of Magelang Regency. The samples use are children aged 3-4 years in the all KB in Ngadipuro Dukun Magelang Regency as many as 30 children. The sampling technique is a Purposive Sample technique. The data collection technique uses the speaking ability scale of children aged 3-4 years, while the data analysis uses the Paired Sample t-Test and percentage techniques. Based on the results of calculation of hypothesis testing statistics obtain t-test data using the Paired Sample t-Test on the SPSS program obtain the value - t table > t count > t table, namely (-2.045> - 5,942 or 5,942> 2,045), Sig = 0,000 or Sig (2 Tailed) <0.05 so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the speaking ability of children aged 3-4 years in KB Cempaka Ngadipuro District Dukun Magelang Regency after the Student Team Achievement Division method is applied.

Abstract

Children are the generation of local culture from previous generations who certainly love regional culture. One of the areas of the cultures that need to be preserved is the local language. Local language is also an area that reflect cultural heritage in its right. The use of Javanese language Banyumas dialect in the environment for a child's family is the local language preservation efforts from parents to children. The reality in the field of the use of the Javanese language with Banyumas dialect is now rarely used by parents of early childhood when communicating with children, especially in the family environment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the use of the Banyumas dialect in the family environment for children age 5-6 years in Bojongsari Village, Bojongsari District, Purbalingga Regency. This research is a qualitative research, the researcher directly examine the source of data naturally and examine it as a key instrument. Data collection techniques use is observation, interviews, documentation, and triangulation. Data analysis techniques use the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that the Javanese language Banyumas dialect is still used in a family environment for children 5-6 years old. Besides that, Javanese language Banyumas dialect used as well as the everyday language among members of the family; parents with parents, parents with children, and children with children in hamlet 4, Bojongsari Village, Bojongsari District, Purbalingga Regency. Suggestions from the results of the study, which is for all family members to continue to preserve the local language (Javanese Banyumas dialect language) in the family environment by using the local language (Javanese Banyumas dialect), so that embedded love for local language from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the motivation that influences the willingness of visitors (parents) to visit their children and the value of education on the attractions of Kura-kura Ocean Park Jepara (KOP). This study uses a qualitative research approach with a descriptive study. The subjects of this study were visitors (parents and children aged 5-6 years) as the main informants, managers as supporting informants while the representatives of HIMPAUDI as triangulation informants. The selection of informants used purposive sampling technique. The methods and techniques of data collection in this research are interviews, observation, and document analysis. The data analysis technique in this study is the interactive data analysis of Miles & Huberman. The results showed that parents visiting KOP attractions were influenced by several internal factors including boredom with daily activities, finding new experiences (educating children), utilizing leisure time to be with family (looking for togetherness ) Meanwhile, the pull factor (external) among them is the KOP tourist attraction has a unique building / beauty of the attractions offered, road access to attractions is very easy, and the facilities and infrastructure offered are only in KOP attractions. There is a value of religious education, that is, children trust God through His creation, but the value of religious education in terms of worship has not been obtained by the child. The value of social education includes children interacting directly with friends, relatives, parents or teachers. Moral education values ​​include children being taught to queue, not littering, sharing provisions, not disturbing fish or turtles, loving animals and being taught to respect the older. Cultural education values ​​include the KOP tourist attraction is an icon of Jepara, KOP is located on the beach which is one of the characteristics of coastal areas, other local wisdom is wood carving or craft.

Abstract

Problems in early childhood that occurs in early childhood education institutions, especially group of TK B in PAUD Terpadu Lab Belia Semarang is found that the percentage amount is very much in the low category of emotional intelligence of children and has never been applied media wordless picture books. The research problem is Is media use wordless picture books can improve emotional intelligence in children aged 5-6 years in early childhood Belia Integrated Lab. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase emotional intelligence in children aged 5-6 years in early childhood Semarang Belia Integrated Lab in terms of the application of wordless picture books. This study aims to determine the increase in emotional intelligence in children aged 5-6 years at the PAUD Terpadu Lab Belia Semarang in terms of the application of Wordless Picture Books. This study uses the Pre-Experimental Design method with the One Group Pretest Posttest Design approach. The sample is students of kindergarten group B aged 5-6 years as many as 30 children. The sampling technique in this study is the purposive sample technique. Data collection techniques are observation and Likert scale. The data shows an increase in the mean value of 103.30 to 129.20, resulting in an increase in score of 25.9. Based on the results of calculations using Paired Sample t-Test obtain the value of -ttable> -tcounts> ttable, that is (-2,042>-16,160 or 16,160>2,042) with the value of Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05 which means there is a difference between the pretest and posttest values. The conclusions are that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that there is an increase in emotional intelligence through Wordless Picture Books for children aged 5-6 years in PAUD Terpadu Lab Belia.

Abstract

This research is done based on the phenomenon at TK (Kindergarten) ABA Rendeng, Purworejo City where children are not used to communicating what they see, the minimal use of tools and materials during the learning process, models and variations of learning that are not appropriate with the material and often using media images or through worksheets. From these problems it will result in children having difficulty drawing conclusions, lack of understanding of children, children are often not interested in science activities, and children feel bored. This study aims to prove whether there are differences and  improvement in science process skills after being given a decision-making learning model. The population of this study is all students with total 50. The sample is 31 students from the total population that are taken by cluster sample technique. This study uses an experimental model with a one-group pretest-posttest design technique. The results of the calculation of the t-test have obtained the value of t-count = 2.042 with sig = 0.000 so Ha is accepted. This proves that there are significant differences regarding the class B child science process skills in terms of giving treatment by using decision-making learning models. From the test results using the percentage technique, there is an increase in children's science skills in class B, as seen from the percentage increase in pretest and posttest data of 32.2%

Abstract

Understanding is the ability of a person to know and understand something about the meaning or concept, situation, and facts by understanding the meaning contained in it. The examined problem in this study is how parents understand about MP-ASI (breast milk complementary foods) in Harjobinangun Village, Grabag District, Purworejo Regency and how the role of health workers in creating parents' understanding of MP-ASI. This study aims to find out how parents understand about MP-ASI in Harjobinangun Village, Grabag District, Purworejo Regency, and find out the role of health workers in creating understanding among parents about MP-ASI. This research is a qualitative research. The approach in this study is a case study approach. The subjects in this study are 4 people. Data collection methods are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique is an interactive model. The data validity technique is triangulation. The results of data analysis collected from the field, parents' understanding of MP-ASI in Harjobinangun Village, Grabag District, Purworejo District, is that parents' understanding of MP-ASI is still lacking. This is because parents do not feed children according to the four-star menu. Parents feed children only with rice and side dishes or rice and vegetables. In addition, there are still elderly people who feed children with packaged children's food and parents also rarely give fruits to children. The role of health workers in creating parents' understanding of MP-ASI is as a motivator, facilitator, counselor, and resource.

Abstract

The aim of the study is to determine the effectiveness of the application of Batik Jumputan skill as an activity in improving the fine motor skill of mild intellectually disabled children in special schools throughout Semarang City. The research approach used is quantitative with the type of quasi-experimental research approach. The research design used is one group pre-test post-test. The subjects of this study are mild intellectually disabled children in special schools throughout Semarang City, in total 27 children. The data collection technique used is scale of fine motor skill with a number of 36 valid items that had previously been tested so that they could be used in the research, while the methods of data analysis are descriptive and hypothesis testing by using Paired Sample T Test. The results of the study showed that the level of fine motor skill of mild intellectually disabled children before being given the Batik Jumputan skill activities is included in the enough category with a percentage of 51.58% and after being given the Batik Jumputan skill activities included in the good category with a percentage of 48, 15%. Based on the results of the Paired Sample T Test obtained the value of    <  is (-12,724 <-2,056) with a significant value of 0,000, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted proving that there is significant difference in fine motor skill of mild intellectually disabled children after applied Batik Jumputan skills. The significant difference can be seen from the value of sig 2 tailed <0.05 is 0,000. It means that the use of Batik Jumputan in this study can improve the fine motor skill of mild intellectually disabled children.

Abstract

Hyperactive children tend to act at will and never realize the risk they will get. This matter causes some parents doubt to teach prayers or even introduce the prayer movements little by little to hyperactive children. The practice of prayer requires discipline so the child can do it according to what it should be. Therefore, based on the explanation above, the purpose of the study is to describe the character of discipline in the prayer movement of hyperactive children and explain the supporting and inhibiting factors of the discipline character in prayer movements of hyperactive children. The type of the research is qualitative which focuses on the discipline character of hyperactive children prayer movement. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation and the data analysis techniques by data reduction activities (data reduction), data presentation (data display) and conclusions (verification) Based on the research results conducted on hyperactive children, shows that children have not been able to do the prayer movements properly and correctly. This is due to the lack of awareness in the child and the role of parents to teach the prayer movement. Therefore, from observations made when prayer learning process at school, children have not been involved in performing the prayer movement. According to the results that have been stated, it shows that the discipline character in the prayer movement of hyperactive children in the research has not seen yet in children. This is caused by many factors, such as the environment and the children awareness.
