Abstract

Science learning in Kindergarten is still exist and integrated with other subject in every topic. Science introduction and learning which are implemented in Kindergarten have characteristic as integrated learning, so science learning is integrated with other development. The development of science learning in children is included other development field has very important role to place base ability and form expected human resources. Various nature symptoms such as rain, wind, thunder, fire, breeding animal, and bear fruit plant also get children’s interest. Those objects can be learnt by scientific method which should be simplified for Kindergarten student. Simple observation, exploration, and experimentation can be done by children. Children can do other science processes like mixing primary color, measurement, doing classification, etc. Science product for children is dominant in form of knowledge about facts and symptoms of nature. The aim of this study is to know method and result of Bubble Painting media usage in improving the cognitive ability of children age 4-5 years old in TK Pertiwi 49 Semarang. This study did in TK Pertiwi 49 Semarang with sample all of the students in group A with amount 24 students. The study steps including pre-study, data collection, and data analysis. Data collection methods used are observation and documentation. According to the observation and documentation result, it can conclude that using the method of Bubble Painting media is by mixing yellow, red, or blue, we can get another color like orange, green, and purple. In Bubble painting games, there are; mixing primary color activity until produces new color, measuring detergent, the introduction of substance characteristic (liquid, solid, gas). Learning process using Bubble Painting in children age 4-5 years old in TK Pertiwi 49 Semarang could improve cognitive ability whether in science knowledge concept and the concept of shape, color, size, and model. Children cognitive ability improvement also increase from 69,37 to 78,19, the result of T-test is 78,19% (30,31 > 2,013). From that result, we can conclude there is a significant difference between children cognitive ability before and after using Bubble painting media. How to citeRahayu, S., & Waluyo, E.. (2015). Abstract

Early Childhood Educators and Teachers phenomena in Indonesia today can be said there has been no significant improvement of the quality aspect to profesian and mental readiness in carrying out the functions and duties of the principal. Regulation to improve the quality of the profession with the demands of strata S1 for early childhood educators and teachers not yet fully implemented. There are still many educators and early childhood teachers who have not reached the strata S1 moreover, educators and early childhood teachers similar (non-formal), where for educators and early childhood teachers (non-formal) is still widely managed by the PKK that basic education is still very heterogeneous. This can be confirmed by the findings of the study nearly 50% of educators and teachers have a background in high school education up to S1, even for similar early childhood educators and teachers there who have a background in primary education 6%, secondary 11%. While educators and early childhood teachers who have the educational background that does not comply with the demands of the profession at 38.6%. The above conditions are caused because of the jobs that are considered the easiest and many educators and teachers are becoming even more into early childhood teachers. Ordinary people think so educators and early childhood teachers are very easy it is expressed by 39% of respondents number, origin have a bit of a whim, can sing, clap, invited to play children and nurture and soothe the child when the petulant. Society in general has not been widely realized that early childhood is a very fundamental stage in order to form and mature children. If at this stage the process of formation and maturation of children is not optimal possibility at a later stage the child was not mature so that the process of obtaining the learning experience will be obstacles. Learning outcomes according to standards development as expected the government not be thought of educators and teachers (66.3%). What is certain early childhood educators and teachers in the field are able to make smart kid writing, numeracy and literacy needed for the provision of enrollment in primary school (49%). People still think of early childhood is not so important that the focus on learning experience is not too optimal, early childhood learning course played only later when the child in primary school. Not to mention the cultural factors that shape the mental profession of early childhood educators and teachers are still considered weak. Mental "nrimo" accepted all the conditions of educators and teachers without any action to change the condition becomes more advanced. That ultimately harmed educators and early childhood teachers and positioned in a weak state. For example there are many educators and early childhood teachers who received honorariums range 300-700 thousand rupiah. This condition they receive as a matter of course and with the pretext for seeking experience as well as a springboard to get the opportunity and the honor of being better but all this is not followed by action to up grade themselves. Back here that so our thinking together how and to what extent the role of government, association and organization for institutions as well as educators and early childhood teachers. What action can be given as a responsibility to alleviate professionalism of educators and early childhood teachers in Indonesia. It is a reality that we also must be able to change the paradigm that exists today.

Abstract

Descriptive Study of the Application of Deaf Children Language Development in TLO (Taman Latihan dan Observasi) Class in Semarang State Special School. Faculty of Education. Semarang State University. Indonesia. The Application of deaf children language ability development is a teaching-learning activity focusing on deaf children language acquisition through approaches, methods and media adapted to the children condition and needs. The research aims to 1) describe deaf children language development, 2) explain the application of deaf children language ability development in TLO (Taman Latihan dan Observasi) class in Semarang State Special School, 3) explain push-pull factors of the application of deaf children language ability development in TLO (Taman Latihan dan Observasi) class in Semarang State Special School. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method to understand the phenomenon happened by the research subjects, namely the language they possess, and push-pull factors of deaf children language ability. The subjects of the research are deaf students at the age of 3-5 in the TLO class of Semarang State Special School. The data of the research were collected by observation, interview, and documentation. They were analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, verification, and conclusion. The results show that most of all deaf children in TLO class were cried at post delivery as normal do. The fact that they have no stimulation response is a symptom their parents observe. Therefore, the push-pull factor here is the active role of the parents. Hence, there are three conclusions according to the research, namely the cry of deaf children at post delivery as normal do, heart to heart approach done by teachers and the active role of the parents in deaf language development. It is suggested that the teachers are expected to be more creative to conduct teaching activity. In addition, the community support is needed while government and education department formulate learning curriculum for special need children. As for the writer, the research is expected to analyze lesson plan. How to citeWantoro, W., Diana, D., & SP, Y. (2014). Abstract

Logical-mathematical intelligence is important to be taught by teacher to kindergarten children so that they have skill in solving si mple problems in daily life. Multisensory approach emphasizes the principles of teaching through visual, auditory, kinesthetic and tactile (VAKT). The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is influence multisensory approach to the  logical -mathematical intelligence  in kindergarten children. Paired t-test calculation results between the pretest and posttest the experimental group there was an increase by an average of 21.65 from 14.95 average pretest to 36.6 posttest. Paired t-test calculation results between the pretest and posttest control group contained an average increase of 11.3 from an average of 16.9 to 28.2 pretest posttest.  Independent  t-test  results  of  the  pretest  experimental  and  control  groups  showed  no  significant differences as having value Sig. (2-tailed) > 0.05 is 0.631 > 0.05. That is logical-mathematical intelligence levels in children before using multisensory approach is same. Independent t-test results posttest experimental and control groups showed no significant difference because it has the Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 is 0.02 < 0.05. Based  on  the  description,  it  was  concluded  that  multisensory  approach  gives  significant  effect  on  logic - mathematical intelligence in kindergarten children. The results show that multisensory approach gives significant effect on logic-mathematical intelligence inkindergarten children. Average of logical-mathematical intelligence of students in using multisensory approach is higher than the averageof logical-mathematical intelligence of students who  do not use  logic-mathematical approach. It is suggested to teachers in usingmultisensory approach to improve logical-mathematical intelligence in kindergarten children. Limitations of this study is the assistanceof teachers, child emotional factor, and time constraints.

Abstract

The teaching of simple musical production is one of common practice in Indonesian early childhood education. This however is accompanied by the fact that most Indonesian early childhood centers has no ability to provide musical instrument to supports their children’s learning.  Considering  that  exposure  to  music  is essentially importance  to  encourage children’s sense of aesthetics the Semarang University’s Department of EarlyChildhood Education initiated a short course on the teaching of music to young children for the teachers of disadvantaged centers. Unlike typical course on music, in this short course plastic and metal wastes were used to substitute musical instruments. The wastes were those, which can produce the sound of percussions, such as used water gallons, jerrycans, and metal biscuit cans. Percussions are chosen considering the fact that the teaching of music in Indonesia is combined with fine motor development stimulation. In addition, percussion is much simpler for children to play compared to others. At the end of the short course, the department has learnt that not only the program has given an alternative for the teachers of how to teach music to their children, but also has giventhem much confidence to do that. On the other hand, even though the use of plastic and metal wastes were also an emergency exit strategy, somehow the teachers have learnt to not depend on the “real”, mostly expensive musical instruments amidst the lack of financial support. This has also allowed teacher to not ask for more money from theparents.

Abstract

Early Childhood Curriculum 2013 is a set of an institution learning planning which through a scientific approach. This curriculum concerns to all of the development aspects such as spiritual aspect, behavior, knowledge, and also a skill. Those aspects are related and be one to each other in a learning activity in central class which are applied according to the theme which is chosen before. The theme is as flexible as children need; for example of what TKIT Bina Amal Semarang had done, the theme was about Semarang’s food. This research described the implementation of early childhood education’s curriculum 2013 in TKIT Bina Amal Semarang and also factors which supported it. This research was a naturalistic qualitative research and used observation, interview and also documentation methods, interactive data analysis technique, and triangulation validity technique. Based on the implementation of curriculum 2013 data analysis in TKIT Bina Amal Semarang through a scientific approach. There were some process of this approach; process I: observing (involving all of their senses abilities), process II: asking (being critic on what they observed), process III: collecting information, process IV: associating (connecting old knowledge with the new one), and process V: communicating (QA or Question-Answer section). It was applied according to the theme which was close to them. Supporting factors of this implementation in TKIT BinaAmal were 1) the capability of educators (mostly were bachelor degree graduates) 2) institution (they were institution which supports to improve children education), 3) facilities and infrastructure (learning media in each center), educative games tools, outdoor games tools which were comfortable), 4) supporting activities (painting, coloring, computers, abacus’ and lassy).     The conclusion of this research was the implementation of early childhood education’s curriculum 2013 through scientific approach included observing, asking, collecting information, associating, and communicating.
