Abstract

This study aims to reveal the relationship between teachers' digital literacy skills and the quality of online learning in schools. This research uses a quantitative approach with the type of correlation research. The researchers used a teacher digital literacy scale and online learning quality scale instruments to gather the data from 64 teachers as the sample of this research. The reliability of variable X is 0.750 and variable Y is 0.837. Next, the analysis of the data uses simple regression and product moment. The result of the research showed that (1) teachers’ digital literacy level at SMK N 2 Adiwerna is good in the category at 80,56% with an average score of 97.08, (2) in line with the previous finding, the quality of online learning also has a good result at 77.85% with an average score of 101.98, and (3) there is a relation between the level of teachers’ digital literacy and the quality of online learning, in detail the level of teachers’ digital literacy has a positive effect on the quality of online learning at SMK Negeri 2 Adiwerna. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan hubungan antara kemampuan literasi digital guru dengan kualitas pembelajaran daring di Sekolah. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan tipe penelitian korelasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru pengajar sejumlah 64 guru. Pengumpulan data melalui instrumen skala literasi digital guru dan skala kualitas pembelajaran daring. Dengan reliabel variabel X sebesar 0,750 dan variabel Y sebesar 0.837. Analisis data dilakukan dengan regresi sederhana dan product moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Tingkat literasi digital guru di SMK Negeri 2 Adiwerna termasuk dalam kategori baik dengan perolehan scor 80,56% dari 100% dengan skor rerata 97,08, 2) Kualitas pembelajaran daring di SMK Negeri 2 Adiwerna termasuk dalam kategori baik dengan perolehan skor 77,85% dengan skor rerata 101,98, 3) Terdapat hubungan antara tingkat literasi digital guru dan kualitas pembelajaran daring di SMK Negeri 2 Adiwerna, bahwa tingkat literasi digital berpengaruh positif terhadap kualitas pembelajaran daring di SMK negeri 2 Adiwerna.

Abstract

This research explored how the principals in Banda Aceh XYZ Schools manage the curriculum and instruction and its relatedness to Principal Instructional Management Rating Scale (PIMRS) (Halinger, 1985). This research has 3 research questions and to answer them, a cross-sectional survey, adapted from PIMRS was used and administered to 186 teachers from local schools there. Research findings indicate that principals of Banda Aceh XYZ school played moderate roles (µ =3.78) in managing curriculum and instruction, and no statistical difference between male and female teachers’ perceptions of principals’ roles in managing curriculum and instruction. The results pointed to the importance of having workshops and policy discussions to improve teaching and parallel understanding of curriculum and instruction for teachers and administrators. Abstrak Penelitian ini mengupas bagaimana kepala sekolah di Sekolah-Sekolah XYZ di Banda Aceh mengatur kurikulum dan pengajaran serta keterkaitannya dengan Principal Instructional Management Rating Scale (PIMRS) (Hallinger, 1985). Penelitian ini menjawab tiga pertanyaan penelitian dengan mengadaptasi PIMRS dalam survei terhadap 186 orang guru di sekolah lokal. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasikan bahwa kepala-kepala sekolah XYZ di Banda Aceh berperan moderat (sedang) (µ =3.78) dalam mengatur kurikulum dan pengajaran, dan tidak ditemukan perbedaan signifikan antara pendapat guru laki-laki dan perempuan dalam hal peran kepala sekolah mengatur kurikulum dan pengajaran. Selain itu hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan pentingnya pelatihan dan pembahasan kebijakan untuk meningkatkan pengajaran dan pemahaman menyeluruh terhadap kurikulum dan pengajaran bagi guru dan admistrator sekolah.

Abstract

The implementation of a full-day school program at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes has successfully achieved the goal of learning. Research methods are qualitative approaches. The research design uses a case study. The research focuses on the full-day school program's contribution to student learning outcomes of English subject with the object’s alumni of full-day school classes, English teachers, and deputy head of curriculum at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes. Data collection technique’s semi-structured interviews, unstructured interviews, and literature reviews. Data validity techniques use source triangulation techniques. Data analysis techniques use Miles and Huberman analysis. The study results are: First, the learning objectives of full-day school program implementation at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes have been achieved. Second, implementations of full-day school programs at MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes can contribute to improving English learning outcomes. Third, the obstacle is the gap in students' grades between full-day school and regular. Abstrak Implementasi program full day school di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes telah berhasil mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Metode penelitian pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian studi kasus. Fokus penelitian kontribusi program full day school terhadap hasil belajar siswa mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris dengan objek alumni kelas full day school, guru Bahasa Inggris, dan wakasek bagian kurikulum di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes. Teknik pengumpulan data wawancara semi terstruktur, wawancara tak terstruktur, dan tinjauan literatur. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi sumber. Teknik analisis data adalah analisis Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian. Pertama, tujuan pembelajaran implementasi program full day school di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes telah tercapai. Kedua implementasi program full day school di MTs. Negeri 2 Brebes dapat memberikan kontribusi yang mempengaruhi peningkatan hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris. Ketiga salah satu kendalanya adalah adanya kesenjangan nilai antara siswa kelas full day school dengan siswa kelas reguler.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the level, describe and analyze the self-regulated learning of class XI students during the COVID-19 pandemic at SMAN 63 Jakarta. The research method used quantitative descriptive with a survey design. The technique of collecting data through the MSLQ Likert learning strategies subscales by Pintrich 1991 with total technic sampling. The results showed that the self-regulated learning conducted by XI students during the covid-19 pandemic is in the moderate category with an empirical mean of 54.29 and a standard deviation of 6,933. The conclusion of this research is all of the students in class XI who tend to have the ability to manage resource management strategies are in the medium category. All indicators of resource management strategy were time management and learning environment (52.7%), effort regulation (67.3%), peer learning (62.4%), and help-seeking (53.7%). Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tingkatan, mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis self-regulated learning siswa kelas XI pada masa pandemi covid-19 di SMAN 63 Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kuantitatid deskriptif dengan desain penelitian survei. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan subskala learning strategies The MSLQ Scales karya Pintrich 1991 dengan teknik total sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self-regulated learning yang dilakukan siswa kelas XI pada masa pandemic Covid-19 berada pada kategori sedang dengan mean empiris sebesar 54.29 dan standar deviasi sebesar 6.933. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI cenderung memiliki kemampuan berdasarkan resource management strategies berada pada kategori sedang. Indikator dari resource management strategies adalah time and study environment (52.7%), effort regulation (67.3%), peer learning (62.4%), dan help seeking (53.7%).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of Google classroom as an e-learning-based learning medium in the Flipped Classroom model to improve student learning outcomes in English subjects at Ibu Kartini Vocational High School, Semarang City. The research method used in this study was quantitative approach, a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design model. The sample selection of this research is simple random sampling technique. The tool used to collect data in this study was a test with 50 multiple choice questions. The data analysis technique used is the independent sample t-test and the N-gain score test. The results of the hypothesis test showed that there was a significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. It means that the use of Google classroom as an e-learning-based learning medium in the Flipped Classroom model proved effective in improving students' learning outcomes. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui sejauh mana keefektifan Google classroom sebagai media pembelajaran berbasis e-learning dalam model Flipped Classroom untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa inggris di SMK Ibu Kartini kota Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian eksperimen. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan pola quasi experimental design dengan model non-equivalent control group design. Pemilihan sampel penelitian ini dengan teknik simple random sampling. Alat yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data pada penelitian ini adalah Tes dengan soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 50 butir soal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu uji independent sampel t-test dan uji N-gain score. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan hasil belajar antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan Google classroom sebagai media pembelajaran berbasis e-learning dalam model Flipped Classroom terbukti efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information related to the content of the marine curriculum in order to preserve the wisdom of coastal communities carried out at the SD IT Mahabbatul Haq Batam City. The research method uses descriptive qualitative research with a case study design. Data collection techniques with interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that 2 factors caused the lack of implementation of marine local content at SD IT Mahabbatul Haq Batam City. These factors consist of internal factors, namely administratively the SD IT Mahabbatul Haq Batam City does not yet have the necessary documents such as marine curriculum documents and Learning Implementation Plan (RPP). The implementation of marine local content learning is only guided by the syllabus of marine local content subjects. Meanwhile, external factors have not had a major impact on the surrounding coastal communities. In addition, 2 factors influence the reason why the application of local marine content in supporting the preservation of the wisdom of coastal communities, namely the environmental aspect, and the cultural aspect. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi terkait muatan kurikulum kelautan guna melestarikan kearifan masyarakat pesisir yang dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar IT Mahabbatul Haq Kota Batam. Metode penelitian menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif dengan desain penelitian studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 2 faktor yang menyebabkan kekurangan dari pelaksanaan muatan lokal kelautan di SD IT Mahabbatul Haq Kota Batam. Faktor tersebut terdiri dari faktor internal yaitu secara administratif Sekolah Dasar IT Mahabbatul Haq Kota Batam belum memiliki dokumen yang diperlukan seperti dokumen kurikulum kelautan dan Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) kelautan. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran muatan lokal kelautan hanya berpedoman pada silabus mata pelajaran muatan lokal kelautan. Sedangkan faktor eksternal berkaitan dengan belum berdampak besar terhadap masyarakat pesisir disekitarnya. Selain itu terdapat 2 faktor juga yang mempengaruhi alasan mengapa diterapkannya muatan lokal kelautan dalam mendukung pelestarian kearifan masyarakat pesisir yaitu segi lingkungan, dan segi kultural.
The Management Process of the Emergency Curriculum and Its Influential Factors: Insight from the Field

Abstract

This study aims to identify the problems that arose amid the implementation of the emergency curriculum endorsed by the government among teachers and students. The emergency curriculum is a top-down curricular intervention as a means to overcome the problems caused by the Covid-19 outbreak. The research has been conducted in one senior high school in the center of Semarang City, involving several interviewees by employing a qualitative approach. The results showed that there are varieties of teachers’ understanding of emergency curriculum as well as their resistance and acceptance. During the planning stage, the role of teacher association based on the subject matter (MGMP), district of education office, and school principal are central. Afterward, in the organizing and implementation stages of the emergency curriculum technical and non-technical barriers from the students cause learning problems, e.g. poor internet infrastructure, lack of digital literacy skills, and teachers’ misunderstanding of the basic concept of emergency curriculum. However, until the end of the process management (assessment stage) there is no significant problems can be found. In this regard, all students have met the minimum required standard of achievement. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi masalah yang muncul di tengah penerapan kurikulum darurat yang disahkan oleh pemerintah di kalangan guru dan siswa. Kurikulum darurat merupakan intervensi kurikuler dari atas ke bawah sebagai sarana untuk mengatasi masalah yang disebabkan oleh wabah Covid-19. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu SMA di pusat Kota Semarang, melibatkan beberapa narasumber dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat variasi pemahaman guru terhadap kurikulum darurat, juga resistensi dan penerimaan mereka. Pada tahap perencanaan, peran Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP), Dinas Pendidikan, dan kepala sekolah sangat penting. Setelah itu, pada tahap pengorganisasian dan implementasi kurikulum darurat, hambatan teknis dan non-teknis dari siswa menyebabkan masalah pembelajaran, misalnya infrastruktur internet yang buruk, kurangnya keterampilan literasi digital, dan kesalahpahaman guru terhadap konsep dasar kurikulum darurat. Walau demikian, hingga akhir proses pengelolaan (tahap penilaian) tidak ditemukan masalah yang berarti. Dalam hal ini, semua siswa telah memenuhi standar pencapaian minimum yang disyaratkan (KKM).
Do There Any Higher Order Thinking Skills in the Cambridge Primary Mathematics Textbook?

Abstract

The poor results of national and international assessments make the national curriculum get criticism. Meanwhile, the Cambridge curriculum gets popular because of its quality. Textbooks as curriculum manifestations affect student learning. This study describes Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and the dominance of its level in the Cambridge Primary Mathematics 4 textbooks which are Teacher's Resources and Learner's Book. This study uses a directed qualitative content analysis method. This research shows that all HOTS levels (analyze, evaluate, and create) are spread across four major themes (number, measure, data handling, and geometry) Teacher's Resource and Learner's Book. Theoretically, HOTS in the Teacher's Resource and Learner's Book can teach critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication because the learning content of HOTS in this book uses a student-centered approach and the teacher actively provides scaffolding using open-ended questions, discussions, and group activities. HOTS level creating is dominant in Teacher's Resource and analysis is dominant in Learner's Book. Abstrak Hasil assesmen nasional dan internasional yang konsisten buruk membuat kurikulum nasional menuai kritik. Sementara itu, kurikulum Cambridge diminati sejumlah kalangan karena dianggap lebih berkualitas. Buku teks sebagai manifestasi kurikulum berpengaruh terhadap pembelajaran siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dan dominasi levelnya dalam buku teks Cambridge Primary Mathematics 4 yang terdiri dari Teacher’s Resources dan Learner’s Book. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi kualitatif terarah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ketiga level HOTS (menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta) tersebar dalam keempat tema besar (number, measure, handling data, dan geometry) Teacher’s Resource dan Learner’s Book. Secara teoretis, HOTS dalam Teacher’s Resource dan Learner’s Book dapat membelajarkan critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, dan communication karena pembelajaran muatan HOTS dalam buku ini terpusat pada siswa dan guru aktif memberikan scaffolding menggunakan pertanyaan open-ended, diskusi, serta aktivitas berkelompok. HOTS dalam Teacher’s Resource didominasi oleh level mencipta, sedangkan Learner’s Book didominasi level menganalisis.

Abstract

Lecturers are not engaging in the frequent use of mobile technologies to support and supplement instructions and their learning experiences, as these technologies assist in simplifying concepts and could lead to improved academic performance. The objectives were to investigate science lecturers' perceived use of mobile technologies for instruction. The study was a descriptive research of survey type and a random sampling technique was adopted to select 172 respondents. Data were analyzed using frequency count, percentage and t-test. The findings established that science lecturers have a bright perception of the use of mobile technologies for instruction. The study concluded that science lecturers’ perception of the use of mobile technology boosts their students’ learning. It was thus recommended that government should provide an affordable platform for lecturers and students to have their personal technological devices (computer set) which they can use independently and for group learning. Abstrak Dosen tidak sering menggunakan teknologi seluler untuk mendukung dan melengkapi instruksi dan pengalaman belajar mereka, karena teknologi ini membantu menyederhanakan konsep dan dapat meningkatkan kinerja akademik. Tujuannya adalah untuk menyelidiki dosen sains yang menggunakan teknologi seluler untuk pengajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan tipe survey dan teknik random sampling digunakan untuk memilih 172 responden. Analisis data menggunakan frekuensi hitung, persentase dan uji-t. Temuan menetapkan bahwa dosen sains memiliki persepsi yang cerah dalam penggunaan teknologi seluler untuk pengajaran. Studi ini menyimpulkan bahwa persepsi dosen IPA tentang penggunaan teknologi seluler meningkatkan pembelajaran siswa mereka. Oleh karena itu, direkomendasikan agar pemerintah menyediakan platform yang terjangkau bagi dosen dan mahasiswa untuk memiliki perangkat teknologi pribadi (perangkat komputer) yang dapat mereka gunakan secara mandiri dan untuk pembelajaran kelompok.

Abstract

In line with the growing incursion/adoption of social media into teaching and learning, this study was conducted to understand continuing education learners’ psycho-social characteristics and their influence on their social media. A quantitative research design approach using an online Google form with 388 participants was adopted. Descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA were used. Results revealed that the students mostly used Facebook as their major social media platform for connecting with friends and family along with WhatsApp, Twitter, and Instagram. In addition, the study revealed that learners with higher self-concept and socioeconomic status are more inclined to social media usage among CELs. It is believed that the knowledge of psychosocial characteristics of CELs on their usage of social media will inform a bespoke and purposeful curriculum planning, design and implementation that optimizes the achievement of the learning objectives for different classes of the students based on their psycho-social differences. Abstrak Sejalan dengan semakin maraknya penggunaan/adopsi media sosial ke dalam proses belajar mengajar, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memahami karakteristik psiko-sosial peserta didik pendidikan lanjutan dan pengaruhnya terhadap media sosial mereka. Pendekatan desain penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan formulir Google online dengan 388 peserta diadopsi. Statistik deskriptif, uji-t dan ANOVA digunakan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa menggunakan Facebook sebagai platform media sosial utama mereka untuk terhubung dengan teman dan keluarga bersama dengan WhatsApp, Twitter, dan Instagram. Selain itu, penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa pelajar dengan konsep diri dan status sosial ekonomi yang lebih tinggi lebih cenderung menggunakan media sosial di kalangan CEL. Diyakini bahwa pengetahuan tentang karakteristik psikososial CELs dalam penggunaan media sosial mereka akan menginformasikan perencanaan, desain, dan implementasi kurikulum yang dipesan lebih dahulu dan bertujuan yang mengoptimalkan pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran untuk kelas siswa yang berbeda berdasarkan perbedaan psiko-sosial mereka.
