Abstract

This study is meant to develop a model of discoursal stories for children suitable with their development or age level as readers. The discoursal stories are developed by considering suitable characteristics of learners as readers, teacher’s needs for learning media, and learners’ reading interest. To develop the model as learning media for Grade IV, a research and development method with three stages: (1) preliminary study, (2) product formulation and development, and (3) product validation and dissemination were used. There are two types of results in this research: criteria for the model of children’s discoursal stories in their concrete operational phase and the development of the discourse model. The model has the theme of friendship, humanity/social issues, and education, with joy and playful tone, joyful, moving /pityful/compassionate and relaxed athmosphere. Learners need to feel happy, moving, and patient, and like human being, inanimate and animate objects as main characters. The diction should be plain and metaphorical. The stories should be presented by considering the book format, fonts, paper color variety, font size, and various pictures. The language should be communicative. The content of the children’s poetry should be useful and understandable. The scene technique should be used as the method of presentation with dialogues or description. Learners like human being as the characters, completed with clear setting, linear plots, with friendship as the theme.

Abstract

Previous researchers have found that leadership directly influences character building. Teaching factors, training, and educational counseling become mediation in character building and organizational culture influence. This research aims at evaluating and developing Military Academy Cadet educational model in field leadership character building by proposing seventeen hypotheses to analyze and describe direct and indirect influence of educational leadership independence variable and organizational culture through learning intervening variable, training, and educational counseling toward field leadership independence variable. This research method used qualitative approach.    The sample was taken by random sampling technique with 249 cadets as the population. Based on Slovin calculation, with α = 0,05the sample was 153 cadets. Data collection used behavior scale instrument with proven validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed by using IBM SPSS 22and SmartPLS 2.0 software. Estimation result on theoretical model showed that model was not fit.  Theoretical model development in alternative model C showed that the fit model fulfilled the goodness of fit with convergent validity>0,5, discriminant validity>0,7, average variance extracted (AVE) > 0,5, composite reability>0,7, cronbahs Alpha>0,6, communality > 0,5,dan R-square. The result of hypothesis test in general has T-statistics score >1,96. This finding model evaluates educational counseling theory by the empiric fact that educational counseling mediates educational leadership and organizational culture toward learning process. Thus, it recommends to develop educational counseling to increase its contribution toward learning and training in building field leadership character of Military Academy Cadet.

Abstract

Taekwondo kyorugy is a martial arts fight conducted one-on-one using the standard rules and performed for 2 minutes 3 times a round. In the case of equal value,  there is an additional round with sudden death system. The type of taekwondo kyorugy/fight motion is always done with speed and explosive motion. Therefore, the energy system used is predominantly aerobic. During the competition period, it needs exercise program with a model that is close to the real game but can maintain anaerobic endurance performance up to the main competition. This study was designed using the method of action research where the training program was run and simultaneously observed and evaluated to obtain the desired results. After that, the test results were processed to result in the average values then narrated as it is shown in the existing graphs. The Running-based Anaerobic Sprint Test (RAST) was implemented for durability tests. The results of the discussion on the chart competition period did not show significant change. This condition indicates that training program can maintain endurance performance during the competition period. In the discussion on the competition period, there are findings which strongly confirm the assumption that taking a rest is as important as doing the exercise itself. It is caused by the fact that some tests which were repeated because of lack of rest and the result were not good, but after adequate rest was given the result was much better. Based on the results of the exercise using the four physical exercise models employing the taekwondo approach, techniques, and tactics, it was proven that it was capable of maintaining the aerobic endurance performance during the competition period. It is hoped that athletes will quickly adapt to the actual match.
