Abstract

Mathematics teaching and learning should equip students with the ability to think critically and creatively and problem-solving skill to enable them to compete in the industrial revolution 4.0. This descriptive explorative study explores the readiness and challenges faced by Indonesian junior high school (SMP/MTs) student in solving HOTs type mathematics test using Islamic context. Data were collected from a test-based open-ended questionnaire distributed to 164 students in the 8th of five schools in Sidoarjo East Java comprising 2 junior madrasas (Islamic schools), 2 Islamic-based junior high schools and 1 public junior high school. Descriptive analysis using SPSS and categorization of responses (referring to response options in the questionnaire such as have ever-never, necessary-unnecessary, answered-not answered, etc) show that considering their experience, the students are “less ready” to face HOTs type mathematics test. However, students expect that they can be given more practices in doing HOTs type mathematics questions to help them get accustomed to this type of question. Being unaccustomed to non-routine and lengthy questions, lazy trait and being unfamiliar to Islamic terms used as the context of the question becomes the challenges for the students in facing HOTs type mathematics test.

Abstract

AbstractCurriculum reform plays an essential role in assuring the success of systematic educational change. The purpose of this study is to portray the government policy and the issues of the Curriculum 2013 implementation. This study employed qualitative methodology using document analysis, observation and Focused Group Discussion (FGD)   as data collection techniques. The results of this study show that the curricula philosophy of curriculum reform was well-articulated and relevant to meet the requirements of twenty-first century learning competencies. However, the curricula implementation process faced substantial challenges with technical problems regarding the national standards of education document, teacher training and competences, the availability of school textbooks, and classroom assessment implementation. The findings of this study have several implications for implementing the national curriculum in Indonesia. Therefore, alignment between the national standards of education document, the curriculum structure, and the assessment system is required in order to ensure the successful implementation of Curriculum 2013 throughout the nation.AbstrakReformasi kurikulum memainkan peran penting dalam memastikan keberhasilan perubahan pendidikan yang sistematis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan kebijakan pemerintah dan isu-isu implementasi Kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif menggunakan analisis dokumen, observasi dan diskusi kelompok terpumpun sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa filosofi reformasi kurikulum diartikulasikan dengan baik dan relevan untuk memenuhi persyaratan kompetensi pembelajaran abad kedua puluh satu. Namun, proses implementasi kurikulum menghadapi tantangan besar dengan masalah teknis mengenai dokumen yang terkait dengan standar nasional pendidikan, pelatihan dan kompetensi guru, ketersediaan buku pelajaran di sekolah, dan implementasi penilaian di dalam kelas. Temuan penelitian ini memiliki beberapa implikasi untuk menerapkan kurikulum nasional di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan keselarasan antara dokumen standar nasional pendidikan, struktur kurikulum, dan sistem penilaian untuk memastikan keberhasilan implementasi Kurikulum 2013 di seluruh negara.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian dosen ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam menulis karya ilmiah (artikel, buku, karya tulis) sebagai solusi dari banyaknya permasalahan guru/dosen dalam menghasilkan karya tulis. Metode pengabdian yang menggunakan Focos Group Discussion (FGD) dengan subjek penelitian guru bimbingan dan konseling yang tergabung dalam Asosiasi Bimbingan dan Konseling Kabupaten Karawang serta Dosen Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang yang mengampu mata kuliah bimbingan dan konseling. Hasil pengabdian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru dan dosen sangat memiliki potensi dalam menulis karya tulis, khususnya karya tuilis dalam bentuk Buku Referensi. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh motivasi yang sangat tinggi setelah memperoleh tugas untuk menulis setelah diberikan pelatihan menulis buku oleh tim pengabdian dosen, sehingga menghasilkan sebuah buku yang terakreditasi dengan ISBN (Indek Seri Buku Nasional) 978-623-90423-8-7 berjudul “Ragam Kajian Layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling di Masyarakat” dipublikasikan melalui ITK Press Kalimantan (Group Depublish Yogyakarta)

Abstract

Financial literacy is one of the competencies needed by elementary school students today, but in reality there are not many financial literacy teaching materials available for elementary schools. The purpose of this study is to develop a game-based learning application that is able to improve the competence of elementary school students in financial literacy. The method used in this study is the instrument analysis method by applying the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The results obtained from this study are an android-based application that can improve student competence in financial literacy called Q-VICI Pratama which is suitable for grade IV, V, and VI elementary school students. The implication of the results of this study is the need to collect information from users, students and teachers further as feedback for the evaluation and development of the instrument. In addition, it is necessary to expand financial literacy materials for the next level.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model on students' mathematical problemsolving ability and to see how much influence the SSCS learning model has on students' mathematical problemsolving skills.  This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experiment method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study were all VIII grade students in one of the junior high schools in Bogor Regency. The samples used were class VIII-2 as the control class using conventional learning model and class VIII-4 as the experimental class using SSCS learning model. Data was collected through a mathematical problemsolving ability test in the form of five description questions on Social Arithmetic material. The data obtained were analyzed using T test and Effect Size test. The results of data analysis showed that there was an effect of SSCS learning model on students' mathematical problemsolving ability. The effect size of SSCS learning model on students' mathematical problemsolving ability is 0.39 with moderate category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh kecemasan matematika terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis pada siswa SMP. Materi yang digunakan dalam mengukur kemampuan literasi matematis adalah teorema Pythagoras. Dengan menggunakan Purposive Sampling diperoleh 40 siswa kelas VIII dari SMPN 3 Karawang Timur. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengambilan data adalah kuesioner dan tes. Kuesioner untuk mengukur tingkat kecemasan terdiri dari 20 item. Kemampuan literasi diukur dengan tes yang terdiri dari 3 soal uraian yang dilengkapi dengan rubrik penskoran. Analisis regresi linier digunakan untuk menemukan besarnya pengaruh kecemasan matematika terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa SMP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh secara signifikankecemasan matematikaterhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa SMP. Koefisien regresi menunjukkan pengaruh positif antara kecemasan matematika dengan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Kesimpulannya adalah kecemasan matematika memengaruhi sebesar 59,3% pada kemampuan literasi matematis, sementara 40,7% dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain.

Abstract

This research is a simulation study using resampling methods to see the effect of sample size, test length, and person-item targeting on separation reliability in the Rasch Model. Simulation conditions were created with several predetermined factors, namely sample size with five conditions (200, 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 person), test length with three conditions (20, 40, and 60 items), and person-item targeting with five conditions (-2, -1, 0, 1, and 2 logit). The total number of conditions is 75 conditions where each condition is replicated 50 times so that a total of 3.750 data are generated. The data is generated using WinGen software. The results of the separation reliability analysis were analyzed using Winsteps software. The separation reliability criteria set are for Person Separation Reliability (PSR) > 0.80 and for Item Separation Reliability (ISR) > 0.90. The results showed that 75 conditions (100%) resulted in ISR estimates that met the criteria (> 0.90). For PSR estimation, 37 conditions (49%) resulted in PSR estimates that met the criteria (> 0.80) and 38 conditions (51%) resulted in PSR estimates that did not meet the criteria (< 0.80). In addition, PSR estimation is influenced by test length and person-item targeting.
