Abstract

Female students face additional stress and difficulties in adjusting to higher education which negatively impacts academic performance. Due to the dual roles, academic requirements and housekeeping activities, that are played by female students, social support is needed in forming self-efficacy in female students to achieve learning goals. This study aimed to examine the relationship between family support, friend supports, and support from significant others among female students at Islamic universities. In this research, a quantitative method was used with 286 Islamic female students as the subjects, selected using non-probability sampling technique. In this study, the researchers used conformational factor analysis (CFA) using Lisrel 8.8 to test the validity of the measuring instrument. To analyze descriptive statistics, SPSS 23 software was used. The result of this research was that there was a significant and positive influence between social support on self-efficacy of female students of 0.109 or 10.9 %, while the remaining 80.1 % was influenced by other variables outside the research. Based on the analysis of the influence of each independent variable on the dependent variable in this research, there were two dimensions whose regression coefficient values were significant, namely the dimension of family support and significant other and dimension of social support that was not significant, namely the dimension of friend supports.

Abstract

This research is a simulation study using resampling methods to see the effect of sample size, test length, and person-item targeting on separation reliability in the Rasch Model. Simulation conditions were created with several predetermined factors, namely sample size with five conditions (200, 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 person), test length with three conditions (20, 40, and 60 items), and person-item targeting with five conditions (-2, -1, 0, 1, and 2 logit). The total number of conditions is 75 conditions where each condition is replicated 50 times so that a total of 3.750 data are generated. The data is generated using WinGen software. The results of the separation reliability analysis were analyzed using Winsteps software. The separation reliability criteria set are for Person Separation Reliability (PSR) > 0.80 and for Item Separation Reliability (ISR) > 0.90. The results showed that 75 conditions (100%) resulted in ISR estimates that met the criteria (> 0.90). For PSR estimation, 37 conditions (49%) resulted in PSR estimates that met the criteria (> 0.80) and 38 conditions (51%) resulted in PSR estimates that did not meet the criteria (< 0.80). In addition, PSR estimation is influenced by test length and person-item targeting.

Abstract

The overuse of the internet is known as internet addiction. People who are addicted to the internet frequently require assistance in controlling their usage, which causes them to lose track of time and prefer the virtual world to the actual one. The purpose of this study is to look at how self-control affects college students' internet addiction. 352 students, aged between 18 and 24 (M = 20.46, SD = 1.31), living in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi, made up the sample. There were 69 male students and 283 female students. Purposive sampling, a non-probability technique, was employed. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) is used in the construct validity assessment process. The structural equation modeling method is employed to test hypotheses. The results showed that data with an RMSEA value of 0.074 supported the fit model. In addition, there is a significant influence of self-control on internet addiction in students with an opposing direction of influence. The R-square of 40.2% obtains the amount of influence.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to test the psychometric properties of the Body Consciousness Questionnaire (BCQ) instrument which has been adapted into Indonesian. Data analysis in this study used a CFA approach to test the factor structure and Rasch model analysis to obtain better parameter estimates. The sample in this study was 304 respondents (male = 108; female = 196) with an age range of 18 - 24 years (mean age = 20.58; SD age = 1.52.). The sampling method used was non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the Body Consciousness Questionnaire (BCQ) instrument has a fit model to the data (unidimensional). In addition, this finding is supported by Rasch model analysis where the assumption of unidimensionality is met. Other findings related to local independence, item fit, reliability showed good results. The items in the adapted BCQ have been declared valid and appropriate to measure the construct of Body Consciousness.

Abstract

“Grit” refers to persistence in trying and consistent interest in achieving long-term goals. The Short Grit Scale (Grit-S) is one of the measures used to assess grit. Given that previous research on the Grit-S scale was reported with a CFA approach, this study aims to examine the psychometric properties of the Indonesian Grit-S using Rasch model analysis. Rasch model shows a more detailed analysis than CFA by explaining item difficulty, item fit statistics, reliability, and wright map. Participants in the study were 480 students (male: 86 and female: 394) with an age range of 17-25 years (mean age: 20.05, SD age: 1.32). The sampling method used was non-probability sampling with a convenience sampling technique. The research analysis results show that the Indonesian Grit-S has a good reliability. In addition, all Indonesian Grit-S scale items fit using the Rasch model. Overall, the results showed that the Indonesian Grit-S scale has valid and reliable psychometric properties and can be used to measure grit.
