Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the circuit training method on improving smash skills in badminton among extracurricular students at SMAN 2 Sukatani. The background of this research lies in the importance of the smash technique as a primary offensive move in badminton, along with the need for a structured and effective training method to enhance this ability. The circuit training method was selected for its potential to develop strength, endurance, agility, and overall body coordination. This research employed a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 30 badminton extracurricular students, selected using total sampling. The instrument used was a practical test of smash skills, covering initial stance, execution, and follow-through phases. Data were collected through a pre-test before treatment and a post-test after eight sessions of circuit training. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and a paired sample t-test with the assistance of SPSS 25. The results showed an increase in the average score from 9.10 in the pre-test to 11.20 in the post-test. The t-test results revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. It can be concluded that the circuit training method has a significant effect on improving smash skills in badminton. This method is recommended to be implemented in extracurricular training programs as it effectively enhances students’ overall performance. The findings also contribute to the development of structured physical education training strategies.

Abstract

The digital transformation in educational institutions demands a more effective, well-documented, and technology-adaptive model of instructional supervision. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Learning Management System (LMS)-based academic supervision and its impact on teacher performance and instructional quality. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving the principal, vice principal for curriculum, and teachers. The findings reveal that LMS-based supervision is systematically implemented through digital scheduling, instructional document uploads, classroom recording submissions, and direct feedback via LMS features. Digital supervision significantly enhances teacher discipline, administrative consistency, digital competence, and the quality of instructional planning. LMS also accelerates the feedback cycle and strengthens reflective teaching practices. However, several challenges emerge, including unstable internet connectivity, teacher psychological pressure, and difficulties in digital adaptation. LMS-based supervision positively contributes to instructional quality and supports school quality management. This study highlights the importance of integrating digital supervision into teacher professional development, particularly in vocational education settings.

Abstract

This study addresses the persistent challenge in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in madrasahs, which often emphasizes rote memorization rather than meaningful understanding and value internalization. The study aims to examine deep learning as an emerging pedagogical paradigm and explore its implications for PAI in madrasahs. This research employed a qualitative systematic literature review approach by analyzing 32 relevant national and international scholarly publications on deep learning and Islamic education. The literature review and selection process were conducted using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) approach, including identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion stages, followed by thematic and conceptual synthesis. The findings indicate that deep learning, characterized by mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning, is strongly aligned with the principles of Islamic education, particularly in promoting reflective thinking (tafakkur), deep understanding (tadabbur), and character formation. The study also highlights important implications for curriculum design, teaching strategies, teacher roles, and authentic assessment practices in madrasahs. This article concludes that deep learning provides a transformative framework for strengthening the cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions of PAI learning. The novelty of this study lies in its conceptual integration of deep learning theory with Islamic educational principles as a foundation for transforming PAI learning in madrasah contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and analyze a self-acceptance instrument based on Al-Ghazali’s theory using the Rasch Model approach, as well as to detect item bias or Differential Item Functioning (DIF) based on gender. The instrument was constructed based on four main aspects from Al-Ghazali’s theory: tawakal, syukur, sabar, ikhlas. The participants were 439 active ungraduate students of IAIN Pontianak in the 2024 academic year, selected using proportionate cluster random sampling technique. The content validity of the instrument items was tested using Aiken’s V formula, involving six experts and obtained an average value 0f 0.95, which is categorized as very high. Data analysis was conducted using the Winsteps software. The results showed that out of 43 items, several items were identified as having potential DIF. Specifically, in the aspects of tawakal (5 items), syukur (6 items), sabar (2 items), and ikhlas (1 items) indicating possible bias based on gender. This research is expected to serve as a foundation for developing Islamic psychology instruments that are more objective, contextual, and relevant for both modern scientific studies and the implementation of personality development or self-development programs for students, focusing on nurturing the character traits of tawakal, sabar, syukur, and ikhlas.
