Abstract

It has become customary that every Muslim anywhere in the world are obliged to fast during Ramadan. One of the annual problems that always appear at the Ramadan is the determination of the beginning and end of Ramadan by sighting the moon. On the orders of the Prophet Muhammad, the determination of Ramadan should be done at the end of the month of Sha'ban. The beginning and end of Ramadan is determined by the appearance of the crescent moon. Such activity is known by rukyat hilal. In its history, the Prophet explained that the methodology of the determination of the beginning and end of Ramadan is sighting the crescent moon with eyes. If sight is obstructed by natural phenomena such as cloud cover, the day of the month of Sha'ban accomplished to 30 days. Contemporary, classic visual method has been carried out with the use of modern tools. Problems often arise because of differences in the understanding the passages of sunnah related to this. Some considered that the hilal rukyat commanded by the Prophet Muhammad is rukyat fi'liyyah while others considered that it is more accurate to use rukyat 'Ilmiyyah with the arithmetic method of calculation (hisab). In Indonesia, the different interpretation and understanding that always makes a difference in executing the fasting and Idul Fitri.

Abstract

Rokok pada awalnya berupa tembakau yang dibakar dan dihisap melalui sebuah pipa. Kegiatan ini awalnya dilakukan pada saat berkumpulnya beberapa suku untuk mempererat hubungan antar suku yang berbeda. Di Indonesia, merokok sudah menjadi hal yang biasa secara turun temurun. Pada artikel ini, penulis akan mencoba untuk mengkaji hukum tentang merokok. Karena fenomena yang kita saksikan saat ini dirasa sudah cukup untuk membuktikan bahwa rokok sudah menjadi kebutuhan sebagian masyarakat indonesia saat ini dan ada juga yang memakainya sebagai sampingan saja. Berangkat dari berbagai dalil yang telah dipaparkan sebelumnya baik dari Alquran maupun Hadis serta beberapa pendapat Ulama tentang dalil-dalil tersebut, maka penulis menyimpulkan bahwa hukum merokok bersifat kasuistis. Adakalanya dapat dikatakan haram dan adakalanya bersifat makruh tanzih.

Abstract

Rasulullah, Muhammad SAW, succeeded in changing the uncivilized society into the civilized one as well as the Jahiliyah society into the educated one. The key to the success was his appropriate teaching concept and his sincerity. There were some representative and dominant educational approaches and methods that were developed by Rasulullah, Muhammad SAW, in teaching his Shahabah as adults. One approach that he used was the philosophycal approach. Meanwhile, the methods that he used were the exemplary and affectionate methods. Rasulullah, Muhammad SAW telah berhasil membina masyarakat dari masyarakat yang paling biadab menjadi masyarakat yang paling beradab, dari masyarakat jahiliyah menjadi masyarakat yang terdidik. Kunci keberhasilan pendidikan yang beliau lakukan adalah: konsep ajaran yang beliau sampaikan adalah ajaran yang benar dan tepat, kesungguhan dan keikhlasan beliau dalam melaksanakan tugas. Ada beberapa pendekatan dan metode pendidikan yang dipandang representatif dan dominan yang dikembangkan oleh Rasulullah SAW dalam mendidik para sahabat sebagai orang dewasa. Pendekatan yang digunakan salah satunya adalah pendekatan filosofis, sedang metode yang digunakan beliau diantaranya metode keteladanan, metode lemah lembut dan kasih sayang.

Abstract

Alquran, as the Holy Book of Moslems, contents all of the guidance for humans in their life. Those guidances are written in global, not in detail. On the other hand, humanity consists of physics and psychics, and all need guidance from Allah in the Holy Qur’an. One of the directions is about psychology that is defined as a science of mental activities of a living organism. According to the Holy Qur’an, there are five terms of psychological aspects, and they are al-nafs, al-aql, al-qalb, al-ruh, and al-fithrah. All of these we call them the inner dimensions of human or psychology. Each of these aspects has a similarity to understand psychology. But in other case has different meaning and function.

Abstract

MTQ is a manifestation of Islamic culture and is constantly evolving. MTQ is also one of the government policies related to Muslims and even seems to accommodate the interests of Muslims. The author believes that MTQ can be investigated from various aspects. If viewed from a religious perspective, MTQ is one way to improve spiritual life. If viewed from an economic standpoint, MTQ can support economic development through exhibitions or bazaars held in the main arena. Whereas if it is highlighted with the political glasses of MTQ, perhaps on the one hand the government is accommodating towards Muslims. This paper attempts to describe MTQ and its ins and outs, then also attempts to analyze MTQ as a form of aesthetic reception of the Qur'an and the political dimension of MTQ. The effort to express the Koran aesthetically has actually emerged since the time of the Prophet Muhammad. One of the most popular stories is about the Islamic story of Umar ibn Khattab after hearing the reading of several verses of the Qur'an by his younger sister named Fatimah with her husband named Sa'id bin Zayd. Therefore MTQ is an opportunity to develop the art of reading the Qur'an, and an event to foster awareness to read and study the Qur'an.

Abstract

This paper examines the Minangkabau local leaders’ understanding about religious radicalism and the strategic role it plays in preventing religious radicalism in West Sumatra. This study refutes previous studies that argue that areas with strong custom and religious traditions have a history of radicalism since the colonial era war, and the negative stigma this entails. It also refutes the latest findings that consider this area to be an intolerant area in Indonesia. By using a qualitative approach, the results of this study shows that the local leaders in West Sumatra understands radicalism as a narrow, textual understanding of religion, one that is rigid and prone to antagonizing people who do not share their understanding. The strategic role played by the Minangkabau traditional leadership in tackling radicalism is in the form of cultivating noble customary practices and religious values, maintaining religious traditions that contain the values of togetherness, tolerance, and mutual solidarity (gotong royong), and preserving the commemoration of Islamic holy days and other religious events.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentang pemahaman elit adat Minangkabau tentang radikalisme agama dan peran strategis yang dimainkannya dalam penanggulangan radikalisme agama di Sumatra Barat. Studi ini membantah stigma negatif melalui studi terdahulu bahwa daerah yang kuat tradisi adat dan agama mempunyai sejarah tumbuhnya radicalisme sejak Perang Paderi masa kolonial, sampai temuan terupdate yang menganggap bahwa daerah ini tidak toleran di Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan lokal di Sumatra Barat memahami radikalisme sebagai faham keagamaan yang sempit, tekstual, memutlakkan pendapat mereka sendiri dan menyalahkan atau membid’ahkan orang yang tidak sefaham dengan mereka. Adapun peran strategis yang dimainkan oleh kepemimpinan adat Minangkabau dalam penanggulangan radikalisme adalah berupa penanaman nilai-nilai adat dan agama yang luhur, mempertahankan tradisi-tradisi keagamaan yang memuat nilai-nilai kebersamaan, toleransi, gotong royong, dan menggiatkan acara-acara pengajian dan peringatan hari-hari besar Islam.

Abstract

One of the great traditions in Islamic education institutions in Indonesia is teaching by transmitting Islamic values as found in classical books written centuries ago. The majority in Indonesia, the classic book is better known as the Kitab Kuning. Teaching with the Kitab Kuning is usually done in Islamic Boarding Schools. Examining Kitab Kuning requires qualified Arabic language skills at least passively. Unfortunately, not all Islamic boarding schools that have a variety of superior programs in certain fields, are weak in the field of studying Kitab Kuning. One of them is the Islamic Boarding School Mu'allimin Muhammadiyyah Sawah Dangka which has the flagship Tahfizh Alquran program but is weak in the study of Kitab Kuning. One of the main factors is the lack of adequate quality of human resources. For this reason, this community service activity aims to provide training while introducing new, lightweight methods in learning Arabic, namely the Bihaqatil Jumal method. This method emphasizes learning Arabic using the right brain. After a series of community service activities, teachers and Islamic boarding schools felt helped and gained new experiences in learning Arabic methods to study Kitab Kuning. In addition, both the assisted object and the resource person requested that this kind of community service be continued.

Abstract

The radical or extreme attitude in religion is not a new phenomenon in Islamic history. Since the earliest period, several religious groups have shown this extreme attitude. Today, the issue of religious-based radicalism is not something that was exhaled just a few days ago. The issue of radicalism has become a global agenda to corner Islam. For some circles in Islam, the issue of radicalism is only propaganda to bring down the dignity and height of Islam. The focus of this paper is not to dismantle and tell a series of acts of terror on the grounds of religion. This article is a reviewer of Islamic Moderation books; Counteracting Religious-Based Radicalism written by Muchlis Hanafi, an expert on the Interpretation of the Indonesian Qur'an. The book with ISBN 978-602-18476-1-9 was published by the Al-Azhar Alumni Association and the Jakarta Qur'an Study Center and first published in 2013 with 295 pages in thickness. Until today, an explanation of the concept of Islamic moderation based on the Koran by promoting the term Wasath as a form of moderate attitude is still very rarely written and presented scientifically like the book of Islamic Moderation; Counteracting Religious-Based Radicalism. The concept of moderation by interpreting the meaning of Wasath is a step forward in proving the relevance of the Qur'an to the times. Both from the aspect of the meaning of language and concrete attitude in everyday life.

Abstract

Alquran is the last Holy Book which is sent down by Allah as the Guide Book for whole human-being. It concludes any aspects. Not only for Moslems, Alquran actually also aimed for any creatures in the universe. This is the actual meaning of rahmatan lil ‘âlamiyn (Islam comes as the mercy for all). To prove it, deep researches and develop observations are needed. Especially, it has to be done in Alquran as a main source of Islam. On of the aspect that has explained in Alquran is sexuality. Sexuality in this paper means anything related to sex such as human lust, genitals, and sexual contacts. In Alquran, terms of sexuality are mentioned in many verses in different surahs. This paper purposed to explain the Alquran verses of sexuality. The methodology that applied in this paper is library research with descriptive-analityc approach. Furthermore, this paper was explained by combining alquran exegesis explanation methods; Mawdhû’iy (Thematic) and Comparative (Muqâran). Alquran adalah Kitab suci terakhir yang diturunkan Allah untuk menjadi buku petunjuk bagi seluruh umat manusia dalam segala hal. Tidak hanya bagi umat Islam, Alquran sejatinya ditujukan bagi seluruh alam. Itulah yang dimaksud dengan Islam rahmatan lil ‘âlamiyn (Islam adalah berkah bagi seluruh alam). Untuk membuktikannya, diperlukan penelitian mendalam dan berkembang terhadap seluruh sumber-sumber keIslaman khususnya Alquran sebagai sumber utama. Salah satu aspek yang terpaparkan dalam Alquran adalah seksualitas. Seksualitas yang dimaksud adalah segala hal yang berhubungan tentang kelamin seperti nafsu seks, kelamin,hingga kontak kelamin. Di dalam Alquran, term-term terkait seksusalitas tersebut dijelaskan pada banyak ayat di surat-surat berbeda. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentang ayat-ayat tersebut dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif analitis. Tulisan ini juga bersifat penelitian pustaka dengan menggunakan metode penyajian tafsir Alquran kombinasi antara Tematik dan Komparatif.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan kegiatan terencana, yang di dalamnya terdapat berbagai komponen, karenanya pendidikan harus memiliki tujuan yang ingin di capainya. Alquran memberi perhatian penting terhadap pendidikan salah satunya adalah tujuan. Tujuan Pendidikan dalam Alquran jika dilihat dari tujuan, fungsi, dan tugas manusia dapat disimpulkan: (1) Ubudiyah, tujuan ini mengantarkan manusia sebagai subjek didik agar mampu mengarahkan prilakunya semata-mata untuk mengabdi kepada Allah. (2) khalifah fi al-Ardh, tujuan pendidikan pada bagian ini harus mampu memberikan dan membentuk pribadi manusia menjadi pribadi yang mampu mengemban misi memakmurkan bumi dengan acuan nilai-nilai Ilahiah. (3) Membina dan mengembangkan fitrah manusia, tujuan pendidikan pada bagian ini diarahkan untuk mampu mengintegrasikan seluruh potensi yang dimiliki manusia sebagai subjek didik, baik itu potensi jasmani maupun potensi rohani untuk mewujudkan sosok insan paripurna yang mampu melakukan dialektika aktif pada semua potensi yang dimilikinya. (4) Rahmatan lil’alamin, tujuan pendidikan mengantarkan subjek didik agar keberadaannya menjadi rahmat bagi segenap alam, baik bagi sesama manusia, hewan, dan alam sekitarnya dengan mengacu pada nilai-nilai Ilahiah. (5) Memperoleh kesejahteraan dunia dan akherat. Tujuan pendidikan dalam Alquran intinya adalah membina manusia sehingga mampu menjalankan fungsinya sebagai hamba Allah dan khalifahnya dengan memaksimalkan potensinya untuk membangun dunia sesuai dengan konsep yang ditetapkan Allah.
