Abstract

Elderly people who suffer from hypertension often experience anxiety because they feel unable to carry out their usual activities. This anxiety has a significant impact, because it can cause narrowing of blood vessels which leads to an increase in blood pressure above normal limits. This increase in blood pressure causes higher levels of anxiety in the elderly. It is hoped that this research will be an effort to prevent or reduce the level of anxiety in elderly people who suffer from hypertension and maintain the quality of life of elderly people in the future. of this research is to describe hypertension in the elderly and find its relationship with anxiety levels at the Banjardawa Community Health Center, Pemalang City. This research uses a correlational quantitative research type with a cross-sectional approach, and uses the Spearman Rank Test. The population in this study were elderly patients with hypertension at the Banjardawa Community Health Center, Pemalang City. The sampling technique is using the Purposive Sampling technique. The technique for collecting hypertension data is using a sphynomanometer with an ordinal scale, while for anxiety levels using a questionnaire with an ordinal scale. From the results of research using analysis tests which have been carried out using the Spearman Rank coefficient test, it is known that the close relationship between the two variables is 0.552, so it can be concluded that the relationship between the two variables shows a moderate positive relationship. The coefficient figure is 0.552 (positive) in the same direction, thus indicating a moderate positive relationship. This means that the higher the level of anxiety, the higher the blood pressure. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between hypertension and anxiety levels in the elderly at the Banjardawa Pemalang health center.

Abstract

Mammary fibroadenoma cases can increase the risk of breast cancer and may recur if not properly prevented. Performing SADARI (Breast Self-Examination) can reduce the risk of breast cancer by detecting tumors and cancer early. SADARI in women for early detection of breast cancer is still very low. Some factors that affect SADARI performance include knowledge, attitude, and motivation. To find out the relationship between motivation and knowledge of Mammary Fibroadenoma with the breast self-examination (SADARI) performed by non-health students of Sultan Agung Islamic University. This study was a quantitative analysis with a cross-sectional approach. 361 non-health students became the sample. Sampling in this study used purposive sampling technique utilizing the Sommers'd correlation test. The results showed a relationship between motivation for mammary fibroadenoma and breast self-examination (SADARI) (p value = 0.00), the strength of the correlation was weak (r = 0.28) and the relationship between knowledge about mammary fibroadenoma and breast self-examination (SADARI) (p value = 0.00), the strength of the correlation was weak (r = 0.28). There is a significant relationship between motivation and knowledge about mammary fibroadenoma with breast self-examination (SADARI) among non-health students (p value <0.05).

Self-care is an individual's effort to manage their health condition, especially for people with diabetes mellitus, to keep blood sugar levels under control. One element that influences the effectiveness of self-care is family support. This support can take various forms, such as emotional support, practical assistance, information, and evaluative feedback. This study aims to explore the relationship between family support and self-care practices in elderly people with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the Kedungmundu Health Center. This study design is correlational with a cross-sectional approach. The sample taken consisted of 68 elderly people with type 2 DM who visited the Kedungmundu Health Center. The sample selection used a purposive sampling technique. The inclusion criteria involved outpatients who lived with their families. The instruments used in this study were a questionnaire about family support and SDSCA (Summary of Diabetes Self-Care Activities). To analyze the data, the chi-square test was used in bivariate analysis. The results showed that 60.3% of respondents received positive family support, while 48.5% of respondents showed good self-care practices. Further analysis showed a significant relationship between family support and self-care practices with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05).
