Abstract

The article discusses how social media has undergone a major transformation from just a communication tool to a major necessity in modern society. Based on data from We Are Social and Hootsuite, social media users in Indonesia will reach around 167 million people by 2024, with an average usage of 3–4 hours per day. This article uses a literature review method to analyze the shift in the function of social media, the transformation of people's behavior, and the positive and negative impacts of dependence on these digital platforms. The results of the study show that social media has succeeded in changing the way humans communicate, work, learn, and consume, but on the other hand it also poses a risk of mental health and overdependence. Therefore, it is necessary to increase digital literacy so that people can use social media more wisely and in a balanced way.

Abstract

Live streaming e-commerce has become one of the most popular online shopping channels for Generation Z consumers in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the influence of interaction elements in live broadcasting on the trust and purchasing decisions of Gen Z consumers. Using a systematic literature review approach of 10 articles from journals, this study identifies four main interaction elements that affect consumer trust, namely credibility and authenticity of the host, real-time interaction through comments and Q&A, live product demonstrations, and urgency mechanisms through flash sales. The results of the study show that trust functions as a critical mediator between interaction experience and purchase decisions, with mediation coefficients ranging from 0.45 to 0.72 based on various empirical studies. The characteristics of Gen Z as digital natives who prioritize authenticity and are heavily influenced by peer communities make them the most responsive segment to live commerce formats. These findings were analyzed using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework and Social Presence Theory. Practical implications include host selection strategies, interactive broadcast content design, and long-term trust ecosystem building.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has made Generation Z a very familiar and active group in cyberspace. However, the intensity of the use of technology is not necessarily accompanied by adequate digital literacy skills. This research aims to systematically identify various digital literacy challenges experienced by Generation Z, especially in the cognitive, algorithmic, and ethical aspects of digital. The research was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA protocol through an analysis of 10 scientific articles published in the 2017–2024 period. The results of the study show that there are three main problems faced by Generation Z, namely: (1) low critical thinking skills in assessing and filtering digital information, (2) the high influence of algorithmic bias that limits the diversity of information received, and (3) lack of ethical awareness in the use of digital media, especially related to privacy and the spread of false or hoax information.(DIGITAL LITERACY CHALLENGES OF THE Z_ GENERATION OF SYSTEMATIC LITERACY REVIEW _ Anisti _ Media Language, Literature, and Culture N.d.)

Abstract

Changes in consumer behavior towards digital have encouraged the birth of live commerce as an interactive marketing innovation. This study aims to analyze the mechanism of live commerce in increasing sales conversion and identify the factors for the success of its application to MSMEs in Indonesia. The method used is qualitative with a literature review approach. The scope of the study is focused on the use of the TikTok Shop, Shopee Live, and Instagram Live platforms by MSMEs in the trade and culinary sectors in the 2019–2023 period. The results of the study show that live commerce is able to transform sales conversion by more than 40%. This success is driven by  two-way real-time interactions, live product demonstrations that build trust, and psychological stimulation of urgency through limited promos. In addition, the communication competence of the host, the readiness of the technical infrastructure, and the consistency of the broadcast are the main determining factors. This study concludes that live commerce is effective in cutting the psychological distance between sellers and buyers to optimize the sales performance of MSMEs.
