Abstract

This study examined the role of experience marketing strategies in attracting Generation Z’s interest in aviation schools in West Java, with a particular focus on social media content and virtual reality (VR) tour experiences. The rapid growth of aviation education institutions in West Java has intensified competition, prompting schools to adopt experiential marketing approaches that emphasize immersive and interactive engagement. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed by collecting data from 215 Generation Z respondents who were prospective students of aviation schools in West Java. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicated that experiential social media content had a significant positive effect on brand experience and interest in enrolling, while virtual reality tours significantly enhanced perceived experiential value and institutional attractiveness. Furthermore, brand experience was found to mediate the relationship between experience marketing strategies and Generation Z’s enrollment interest. The findings highlight the importance of integrating digital experiential tools into marketing strategies for aviation education institutions to strengthen competitiveness and support the development of aviation human resources in West Java.

Abstract

Abstract

Fatigue is a critical human-factors hazard in flight training because it can impair attention, procedural memory, communication, and aircraft control. This study examined the dominant causes of fatigue among cadet pilots at the Indonesian Aviation Academy Banyuwangi, the strategies used to manage it, and the institutional implications for flight training safety. A descriptive qualitative case-study design was supported by an exploratory questionnaire, direct observation of training schedules, semi-structured interviews, and a literature review. Thirty-one cadets in the CPL-IR phase with more than 50 flight hours completed a seven-item questionnaire, and four cadets representing the participating cohorts completed interviews guided by 15 questions. Questionnaire data were summarized using frequencies, while interview and observation data were analyzed through data condensation, thematic display, and conclusion verification. Twenty-nine of 31 cadets reported experiencing fatigue. The most frequently reported contributors were insufficient sleep (13 responses), high physical workload (10), and insufficient nutrition (8). Concentration and procedural disruption were the most common consequences (18 responses). Interviews further showed that compressed schedules, consecutive flight, simulator, academic, hangar, and dormitory duties created cumulative fatigue, while institutional responses to fatigue reporting were inconsistent. The study is novel in framing cadet fatigue as an interaction between individual recovery practices and institutional scheduling conditions. It recommends an academy-level Fatigue Risk Management System incorporating non-punitive reporting, schedule-risk assessment, pre-flight fitness checks, protected rest, and nutrition and hydration support.

Abstract

As the transnational marriages rise among Indonesians, family vlogs on transnational marriages perform as an indicator of their existence on YouTube. Through daily vlogs, it captures the complexity of transnational family’s life. The mixed culture and identity have become a great challenge for spouses to perform their everyday life, especially for Indonesian woman, who come as a migrant to follow their partners abroad. As a migrant who live in a foreign country, they have to adjust to the environment but as a part of transnational marriage they are carrying a responsibility to pass over both her and her husband’s culture and identity to the family. This paper will examine two YouTube accounts of transnational marriage families which are Kimbab Family and Pita’s Life. Through vlogs, the women negotiate their Indonesian identity in practicing the family. This study uses a textual approach to explain the construction of Indonesian identity in transnational marriages based on their everyday life captured from the vlogs. The result of this research is both Kimbab Family and Pita’s Life representing Indonesian identity through the articulation of nationalism by participating on Indonesian events, vlogs as a ‘translanguaging space’, and finally through food as the articulation of Indonesian diversity. It shows that the identity of transnational marriages are fluid and continues to go through negotiation process.

Abstract

This study examines student satisfaction with educational facilities at Akademi Penerbang Indonesia Banyuwangi using the five SERVQUAL dimensions. A quantitative descriptive design was applied to a population of 164 students. The study calculated a minimum sample of 63 respondents using the Slovin formula, while 79 usable responses were included in the final analysis. Data were collected through field observation, a four-point Likert questionnaire, and literature review, then analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 3.0. The reported measurement model met the specified loading, average variance extracted, composite reliability, and Cronbach's alpha criteria. The structural model explained 93.5% of the variance in student satisfaction (adjusted R2 = 0.931). Assurance had the strongest significant effect on satisfaction (beta = 0.653, t = 6.918, p < 0.001), followed by empathy (beta = 0.375, t = 4.188, p < 0.001). Tangibles, reliability, and responsiveness were not significant at the 5% level. Because the report did not provide aggregate descriptive satisfaction scores, an overall satisfaction category cannot be validly assigned.
