Abstract

This study aims to analyse the implementation of religious character development for student residents at Ma’had Al-Jami’ah UIN Palangka Raya through structured religious programs and boarding-based activities. This research employed a qualitative case study approach involving 12 informants consisting of Ma’had administrators, musyrif/musyrifah, ustadz/ustadzah, and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analysed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that religious character development is implemented through congregational prayers, Quran recitation, Islamic studies, worship habituation, discipline monitoring, and role modelling by mentors. These activities foster character values such as discipline, responsibility, honesty, politeness, social awareness, and devotion to worship. The internalization process is strengthened through continuous habituation, intensive social interaction, and a conducive religious environment within the ma’had. Supporting factors include structured mentoring programs and active mentor involvement, while inhibiting factors include students’ low motivation and external environmental influences. This study contributes to the development of a boarding-system-based religious character education model by emphasizing the integration of habituation, supervision, and exemplary practices as a holistic character-building ecosystem in Islamic higher education institutions.

Abstract

Abstract

The study examines how Islamic legal ethics has functioned as an organizing logic in addiction recovery within a faith-based rehabilitation context. Conventional approaches to drug rehabilitation often emphasize biomedical and behavioral interventions while overlooking the ethical and spiritual dimensions that shape individuals’ lived experiences of recovery. Therefore, the particular study aimed to address this gap by analyzing recovery as a socio-legal and moral transformation process. The study employed an empirical legal research design with a qualitative approach grounded in transcendental phenomenology. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis at a faith-based rehabilitation institution in Indonesia, involving six recovering participants and one key informant with diverse recovery experiences. The findings reveal that recovery is experienced as a gradual transformation from emotional detachment and externally driven behavior toward internalized ethical awareness. Spiritual practices, such as prayer and zikr, play a crucial role in fostering ethical discipline and self-control, which in turn, support behavioral transformation and sustained recovery outcomes. Detoxification is understood not as a purely biomedical intervention but as part of a structured ethical and spiritual system. Then, the particular study contributes by positioning Islamic legal ethics as a central framework in addiction recovery and offering a socio-legal model that integrates spirituality, ethical discipline, and behavioral change. The findings suggest that rehabilitation programs should incorporate ethical reflection and spiritual engagement to enhance long-term recovery sustainability.

In the Input aspect, the availability of competent educators and supporting infrastructure is found, although there is no special allocation of funds. The Process aspect shows the structured and routine implementation of the program, although there are still discipline constraints on some students. Meanwhile, the Product evaluation shows a significant increase in students' ability to read and memorize the Qur'an, as well as strengthening their self-confidence and spiritual closeness. Overall, the program is considered quite effective, but requires strengthening in the aspects of funding and fostering student discipline to achieve more optimal results.

Abstract

Fostering good morals is an important part of madrasa education, but at MA Darul Amin Palangka Raya, students are still found to lack discipline and lack polite behavior. This study aims to describe the role of Akidah Akhlak teachers in fostering good morals in students and to identify strategies, supporting factors, and inhibiting factors. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through observations of learning and religious activities, interviews with Akidah Akhlak teachers, the madrasah principal, the deputy head of curriculum, and students, as well as supporting documentation. The results show that Akidah Akhlak teachers play a role through role models, positive behavioral habits, educational reprimands, and a personal approach. Teachers also actively guide students in religious activities such as tadarus, dhuha prayer, and religious studies so that moral values are more easily internalized. Supporting factors for fostering come from a religious madrasah environment, scheduled religious programs, and leadership support. Inhibiting factors include external environmental influences and unstable student discipline. This study concludes that the development of noble morals will be effective if exemplary behavior and religious activities are carried out consistently and supported by a conducive madrasa environment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies used by Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in teaching prayer practices to deaf students in grade X at SKH Negeri 1 Palangka Raya. The background of this study is based on the need for adaptive learning for deaf students who have difficulty receiving verbal information, thus requiring a visual approach and methods that are appropriate to their characteristics. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative through data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that PAI teachers employ teaching strategies that emphasize the use of visual media, hands-on practice, and adapting materials to students' abilities. The methods used in teaching include lectures, writing materials on an interactive TV, videos, images, and simple sign language. Evaluation was conducted gradually through direct observation of students' prayer practices. Challenges faced include limitations in teachers' mastery of sign language and a shortage of assistant teachers, while solutions implemented include the use of simple sign language, visual media, and individual guidance. These strategies align with the principles of inclusive education and differentiated learning, but still require improvements in teachers' competencies and resource support.
