Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of individual counseling using cognitive restructuring techniques to reduce students' verbal aggression. This research method is pre-experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII (eight) MTs Islamiyah Malo in the 2022-2023 academic year. While the sample taken was 3 students with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection used verbal aggression instruments, observations and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the verbal aggression behavior of class VIII (eight) MTs Islamiyah Malo students before and after being given treatment with cognitive restructuring techniques is effective in reducing verbal aggression of DCP students 92% in the high category after being given to 66% in the moderate category, ACK students 79% in the high category after being given to 64% in the moderate category, AMA students 81% in the high category after being given to 61% in the moderate category. Data analysis based on the results of the paired sample t-test shows the sig value. (2 tables) of 0.020 < 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is a significant difference, thus meaning that individual counseling services using the cognitive behavior therapy approach with cognitive restructuring techniques are effective in reducing verbal aggression of students at MTs Islamiyah Malo.

Abstract

Academic procrastination is a behavior of delaying academic tasks, which can lead to several negative impacts, including excessive anxiety and high levels of stress. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of group discussion techniques in preventing academic procrastination among junior high school students. This research employs a quantitative pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects of this study consisted of 12 students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Research data collection was carried out using an academic procrastination scale that has been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test to identify changes before and after the treatment was administered. The results of the study indicate that there is a significant difference in scores before and after the implementation of the group discussion technique, with an Asymp. Sig. value for the pretest and posttest of 0.005, which is below 0.05. This suggests that the group discussion technique is effective in preventing academic procrastination. It can be concluded that research using group discussion techniques is effective in preventing academic procrastination in junior high school students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of group counseling using the group discussion technique in preventing excessive Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) behavior among students in Bojonegoro. Group counseling with the group discussion technique aims to help students understand the negative impacts of FoMO, increase self-awareness regarding social media use, and develop critical thinking and self-control skills through interaction and open exchange of ideas within the group. This study employed a quantitative pre-experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of ten students from the Guidance and Counseling Study Program in Bojonegoro, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a FoMO scale that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test to determine the difference in FoMO levels before and after the treatment. The results showed a significant difference between FoMO scores before and after the implementation of group counseling with the group discussion technique, with a t-value of 11.354 and a significance level (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. This confirms that group counseling using the discussion technique is an effective intervention in addressing psychological challenges in the digital era such as FoMO and is relevant to be applied in school-based mental health programs.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and validate an innovative group guidance module that integrates Active Deep Learning Experience with Islamic values to enhance the academic self-efficacy of high school students. Using the Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), this study involved 10–15 students in the limited trial and 30–40 students in the field trial, selected through purposive sampling based on low self-efficacy levels. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and documentation, and analyzed qualitatively using an interactive model and quantitatively through a paired sample t-test to compare pretest and posttest results. The findings indicated a significant improvement in students’ academic self-efficacy (t = 6.27; p < 0.05) from the medium to high category, supported by positive student responses where over 90% found the module useful, easy to apply, and relevant to their academic needs. This research contributes to the integration of Bandura’s self-efficacy theory and Active Deep Learning principles within an Islamic educational framework, offering a new paradigm in counseling that bridges psychological growth and spiritual values.
