Abstract

The increasing complexity of global challenges such as poverty, climate change, and inequality has pushed marginalized communities to seek innovative solutions through entrepreneurship. Creative technologies like virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mobile applications offer novel opportunities for socio-preneurship, enabling entrepreneurs to develop solutions that promote social, environmental, and economic sustainability. This study explores how creative technologies serve as a catalyst for socio-preneurship by examining the experiences of entrepreneurs in underserved regions who have integrated these technologies into their business models. The research aims to understand how these technologies empower entrepreneurs to overcome systemic barriers and create scalable solutions to global challenges. A mixed-methods approach was utilized, combining qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys to gather insights from 20 entrepreneurs across diverse sectors, including education, healthcare, and agriculture. The findings suggest that creative technology enhances business performance, expands market access, and strengthens community ties. Moreover, social capital was identified as a crucial factor in amplifying the impact of technology adoption. The study concludes that creative technology is essential for inclusive socio-preneurship, offering a pathway to address global challenges while fostering local economic and social development. Policy recommendations include supporting technological infrastructure and social networks for marginalized entrepreneurs to ensure sustainable growth.

Abstract

The rapid growth of digital technology in Indonesia has fostered the expansion of e-business systems, which in turn has generated vast volumes of data. However, many e-business platforms still face challenges in utilizing this data effectively to improve operational efficiency and decision-making. This research was conducted to explore the utilization of big data in enhancing the efficiency of e-business systems in Indonesia. The main objective of the study is to analyze how the integration of big data analytics contributes to optimizing business processes, customer engagement, and overall system performance in the Indonesian digital commerce ecosystem. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys of 120 e-business practitioners with qualitative interviews involving 15 data analysts and IT managers from various sectors such as retail, fintech, and logistics. Data were analyzed using statistical tools and thematic coding to derive patterns and insights. The findings indicate that e-businesses implementing big data strategies reported a significant improvement in system responsiveness, personalized customer services, and data-driven decision-making. Moreover, big data utilization has been linked to enhanced supply chain management and real-time monitoring capabilities. Despite these benefits, challenges such as data privacy concerns, lack of skilled personnel, and high infrastructure costs remain significant barriers. In conclusion, the study confirms that the effective use of big data plays a crucial role in improving the efficiency and competitiveness of e-business systems in Indonesia. Future initiatives should focus on strengthening data governance and investing in human capital to maximize big data’s potential.

Abstract

The pharmaceutical industry faces significant challenges related to sustainability, including the environmental impact of drug manufacturing and the need for more efficient drug discovery processes. Organic chemistry plays a vital role in addressing these challenges by providing innovative methodologies for drug design and development. This study aims to explore the integration of organic chemistry principles in the design of sustainable pharmaceuticals. The research focuses on identifying green chemistry approaches that can enhance the efficiency and reduce the ecological footprint of drug development. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to analyze recent advancements in organic chemistry related to drug design. Case studies of successful sustainable drug development projects were examined to illustrate the practical application of these principles. Laboratory experiments were also performed to evaluate the effectiveness of green synthetic methods. Findings indicate that the application of organic chemistry in drug design can significantly reduce waste and improve the efficiency of synthesis. Successful case studies demonstrated the feasibility of using environmentally friendly reagents and processes in drug development, leading to more sustainable pharmaceutical products. This research highlights the critical role of organic chemistry in promoting sustainable pharmaceuticals. By adopting green chemistry principles, the pharmaceutical industry can not only enhance its efficiency but also contribute positively to environmental sustainability, paving the way for a more responsible approach to drug development.

Abstract

Zika virus is a mosquito-borne flavivirus that causes severe birth defects in newborns. Effective preventive measures are urgently needed due to the global spread of the virus. To develop a nanoparticle-based vaccine to prevent Zika virus infection by enhancing immune responses and ensuring safety. A multidisciplinary approach combining virology, immunology, and nanotechnology was used. Laboratory animals and human volunteers were included in the study. The nanoparticle vaccine was characterized using DLS and electron microscopy, and its immunogenicity was tested using ELISA and flow cytometry. Preclinical and clinical trials were conducted to assess the vaccine's efficacy and safety. The nanoparticle vaccine induced strong and long-lasting immune responses, reducing Zika virus infection rates by 85% in mice and 80% in non-human primates. The vaccine showed high titers of neutralizing antibodies and significant cellular immune responses without adverse effects. The nanoparticle vaccine demonstrated high efficacy and safety in preventing Zika virus infection, providing a promising new approach to vaccine development. Further clinical trials are needed to validate these findings and optimize vaccine production for widespread use.

Abstract

This study examines the complex dynamics of Indonesian Islam amidst the rise of global Islamic fundamentalism, focusing specifically on processes of radicalization and counter-radicalization within the archipelago. Indonesia, as the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation, presents a unique case due to its historically pluralistic and moderate religious landscape, which now faces increasing pressure from extremist ideologies. The primary objective of this research is to identify the key drivers of radicalization among Indonesian Muslims and to critically assess the effectiveness of existing counter-radicalization strategies implemented by the government and civil society organizations. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this study combines a quantitative analysis of survey data from 500 university students and religious leaders across Java and Sumatra with qualitative in-depth interviews. The qualitative component involved 30 participants, including former extremists, religious scholars, and policymakers, providing nuanced insights into their experiences and perspectives on radicalization and deradicalization. Results indicate that socio-economic grievances, misinterpretations of religious texts, and online propaganda are significant factors contributing to radicalization, particularly among younger demographics. In conclusion, Indonesian Islam demonstrates significant resilience against fundamentalist encroachment, largely due to its strong civil society and established moderate religious organizations.

Abstract

National critical infrastructure, including energy, transportation, and communication systems, plays a vital role in sustaining modern society, yet failures within these systems can trigger severe economic, environmental, and security consequences. Conventional maintenance approaches often lack the capability to anticipate failures in complex and large-scale infrastructures. Recent advancements in Digital Twin technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) provide innovative opportunities to enhance predictive maintenance and infrastructure resilience. This study aims to integrate Digital Twins with systemic AI to optimize predictive maintenance strategies for national critical infrastructure by leveraging real-time data and intelligent prediction mechanisms. The research employs a combined framework in which sensor-generated data from infrastructure components are continuously synchronized with Digital Twin models and analyzed using machine learning algorithms to monitor system conditions, simulate operational behavior, and predict potential failures. The proposed framework was implemented in a case study of a national energy grid to evaluate its effectiveness. The results indicate that the integrated system significantly improved predictive maintenance performance, achieving a 30% reduction in unplanned downtime and a 25% decrease in maintenance costs through accurate failure prediction and timely intervention. These findings demonstrate that the integration of Digital Twins and systemic AI offers a robust, scalable, and efficient solution for enhancing reliability, resilience, and sustainability in the management of national critical infrastructure.

Abstract

Green Sukuk represents a strategic innovation in Islamic finance that aligns environmental sustainability with Sharia-compliant investment principles. The increasing global urgency to address climate change has driven Muslim-majority nations such as Indonesia and Malaysia to pioneer the issuance of Green Sukuk as a dual-purpose instrument financing sustainable projects while promoting ethical investment behavior. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of Green Sukuk in supporting national sustainable development goals and to evaluate its role in strengthening green financial ecosystems. The research employs a mixed-method approach combining document analysis, market data review, and expert interviews from both countries’ financial authorities. The results show that Green Sukuk issuance has significantly contributed to renewable energy and climate-resilient infrastructure projects, enhancing investors’ confidence through transparent reporting and Sharia compliance. Comparative findings reveal that Indonesia focuses on sovereign sustainability frameworks, whereas Malaysia emphasizes private sector innovation and regulatory facilitation. The study concludes that Green Sukuk offers a viable model for integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives into Islamic finance, advancing both ethical and ecological accountability.

Abstract

Digital transformation has reshaped English Language Teaching (ELT), requiring teachers to reconstruct their professional identities while adapting to pedagogical technologies, learner expectations, and institutional demands. Teacher identity is shaped by digital competence, reflective practice, collaborative learning, and organizational support, making sustainable professional development essential for technology-enhanced language education. This study examined the relationship between teacher identity and professional development in digital-based ELT classrooms and identified factors that strengthen professional identity in digitally mediated environments. A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design involved 420 English teachers from primary, secondary, vocational, and higher education institutions. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, structural equation modeling, mediation, and moderation analyses, while qualitative data were gathered through interviews, classroom observations, reflective journals, focus group discussions, and document analysis. Findings showed that digital pedagogical competence predicted teacher identity, while reflective practice partially mediated the relationship between professional development participation and professional identity. Collaborative professional learning and institutional support strengthened instructional innovation, technological self-efficacy, and professional confidence. Sustainable teacher identity therefore develops through interaction among digital competence, reflective inquiry, organizational learning, and collaborative professional development, enhancing teachers’ adaptability, instructional quality, and long-term professional resilience in technology-rich educational settings.
