Abstract

Happiness is the foremost goal of humans’ in running their activities. Even the fulfillment of the most basic needs is motivated to achieve it. However, the measure of happiness becomes very difficult to determine. In this context, al-Qur'an guides by mentioning various redactions that have the meaning of happiness, such as al-surûr. Therefore, this study aims to find the happiness fulfillment model described in the Qur'an. This study uses the interpretation of al-Sha'rawi, to narrow the scope of meaning, which is considered more relevant to the context of modern society. This research uses a literature study method with data analysis techniques using the approach of Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. This research concludes that al-Sha’râwî interprets the word al-surûr as happiness in the world and the hereafter. In the world, happiness is achieved by enjoying sensory beauty, while in the afterlife, it will be achieved by behaving obediently in the world. The achievement of happiness is precisely obtained by fulfilling the needs following the hierarchy of happiness. At the early stage, happiness is achieved through theological belief. This belief will lead to sensory happiness in the world. At the uppermost stage, the peak of happiness can only be reached when humans meet their God.

Abstract

Cases of fake news have occurred since ancient times, where this act was pioneered by the Devil who made up false information and deceived Prophet Adam so that he was expelled from heaven. From here, fake news continues to grow and has several times affected righteous people such as Juraij, Siti Maryam and Siti 'Āisyah. In this modern era, fake news seems to be public consumption and many members of the public play a role as the main actors and masterminds of this act. Departing from this phenomenon, the author wants to examine the fake news story that happened to Siti ‘Āisyah and was immortalized by Allah in QS. an-Nūr: 11-22. The focus of the study in this article is how the fake news story (ḥadīṡ al-ifki) happened to Siti ‘Āisyah and what maqāṡid is contained in it. Maqāṡid approach used is maqāṡid al-Qurān Ibn 'Āsyūr. The article concludes that the Qur'ānic maqāṣid contained in the hadīth of al-ifki is correcting beliefs and guiding to the right path, moral improvement, establishing religious rulings (in this context, the prohibition of making false news) both general and specific, and giving advice both in the form of warnings and good news.

Abstract

This study examines the tafsīr method of Firdaws al-Na'īm by Thaifur Ali Wafa, which represents a significant contribution to the development of contemporary tafsīr in Indonesia. This method integrates classical tafsīr traditions with a contextual approach relevant to local social and cultural issues, particularly in Madura. The main focus of this research is to analyze how Firdaws al-Na'īm combines the text of the Qur'ān with the cultural values of Madura and its contribution to addressing the modern challenges of Muslim life in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach based on library research, this study compares Firdaws al-Na'īm with classical tafsir works such as Tafsīr al-Qhurtūbī, al-Nasāfī, al-Jalālayn, and Mafātih al-Ghayb. The findings reveal that Firdaws al-Na'īm offers a tafsīr that is not only theoretical but also practical, considering the social and cultural context. This method enriches the tafsīr tradition in Indonesia and provides a new, relevant perspective for contemporary Muslim life

Abstract

This study discusses the prohibition of fraud and deception in business activities based on the sayings (hadiths) of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. In Islam, business practices are not merely profit-oriented but must also be founded upon the values of honesty, justice, and trustworthiness. The Prophet’s hadiths explicitly forbid all forms of fraud (gharar) and deception (tadlis), such as concealing product defects, falsifying information, and manipulating weights and measures. These prohibitions aim to uphold economic justice, protect consumer rights, and foster trust in business transactions. This study emphasizes that honesty is the fundamental basis for achieving blessings in trade. Honest business practitioners gain both divine blessings and public trust, whereas those who engage in deceit lose such blessings and incur the Prophet’s condemnation. Thus, the hadiths provide a strong moral and ethical foundation for establishing fair, transparent, and integrity-based business practices within the Islamic economic system.

Abstract

Tafsīr Safīnah Kallā Saya’lamūn has a systematic structure and an interpretive style that reflects a clear interdisciplinary orientation. However, most existing studies remain descriptive and have not examined in depth how interdisciplinary engagement operates within its interpretive framework using a specific theoretical lens. This study addresses that gap by analyzing the forms and levels of interdisciplinary interaction in the chapter Fabiẓālik Fartaqib wa Biẓālik Faqtarib through the framework of tadākhul al-ma‘ārif, focusing on Q.S. Āli ‘Imrān (3): 101, Q.S. al-Baqarah (2): 155–156, and Q.S. Āli ‘Imrān (3): 120. Using a qualitative library method with content analysis, this study identifies two main patterns. First, a conceptual integration between Qur’ānic exegesis and Sufi thought, producing ethical and spiritual meanings such as prayer, remembrance of the Prophet, patience, and moral resilience. Second, a contextual-illustrative use of scientific and technological ideas, especially the metaphor of “fire” as energy, to relate Qur’ānic messages to contemporary life. However, these interactions remain fragmented and not yet methodologically unified. This study proposes a typology of interdisciplinary engagement in Qur’ānic interpretation based on tadākhul al-ma‘ārif to clarify different modes of knowledge interaction in modern tafsir
