Abstract

Abstract Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels. Abnormalities in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both are causes of elevated blood glucose levels. Management of diabetes mellitus must be handled properly, to avoid complications. The management of the five pillars of diabetes mellitus control is applied to prevent complications and improve the quality of life of diabetics. Diabetics have five pillars that must be adhered to. One of the pillars of DM patients is nutritional management. Nutritional settings that can be taught to DM sufferers by controlling the 3J diet include the amount, schedule and type. The purpose of community service is to provide health education to DM patients about nutrition management in maintaining the stability of KGD values. The method of activity used in this community service starts from delivering material related to understanding, signs, symptoms, complications and their handling, especially the fulfillment of nutrition for DM patients, checking blood glucose values and evaluating the results of its implementation. As for the results of this community service, DM sufferers can fulfill their own nutritional management so that KGD is stable and quality of life is better maintained.

Abstract

The results of a survey of the world community and in Indonesia, the most common disease and the most common cause of death is heart disease. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) shows the prevalence that males experience more heart disease than females. Systemic and pulmonary disorders often occur because blood flow fails to enter the tissues due to failure of the heart pump, which affects the patient's hemodynamics. Changes in position have an impact on changes in central venous pressure values. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was an effect of giving a combination of semi-Fowler's position with right lateral to changes in hemodynamic status of heart failure patients. Quasi experiment with one group pre test and post test method was used in this study. There were 10 respondents who were sampled using the quota sampling technique. This research was conducted at GrandMed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. The measuring instrument used in this study is an observation sheet. Data analysis was performed using paired simple T test. The results of this study obtained a p value = 0.001, this indicates that there is an effect of giving a combination of semi-Fowler's position with right lateral to changes in hemodynamic status in heart failure patients. Semi-Fowler's and lateral position actions help reduce oxygen consumption and increase maximum lung expansion and overcome damage to gas exchange so that it can reduce tightness and affect hemodynamic status. It is expected that nurses will provide education to patients so they want to change the semi-fowler's position with a right lateral combination in order to improve the patient's hemodynamic quality.
