Abstract: Candida albicans is an opportunistic fungus that causes soft tissue infections in the oral cavity known as denture stomatitis, often experienced by removable denture wearers. Good denture hygiene can prevent the growth of this Candida albicans. Treatment using herbal plants is now increasingly being used, such as saga leaves, due to its potentisal antifungal activity. Saga leaves contain secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, quinones, steroids/terpenoids. These active compounds have antifungal activity. This study aimed to determine the antifungal effect of n-Hexane and ethyl acetate extracts of saga leaves in inhibiting Candida albicans. This study used the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method with several concentrations: 50%, 25%, 12.5%, 6.25%, 3.125%, and 1.625%. The results showed that the ethyl acetate extract of saga leaves at a concentration of 50% had the highest value with a mean diameter zone of inhibition of 8.15 mm (medium category), meanwhile, n-Hexane extract of saga leaves at a concentration of 50% had a mean diameter zone of inhibition of 1.20 mm. In conclusion, the ethyl acetate extract of saga leaves can inhibit the growth of Candida albicans. Keywords: antifungal; Candida albicans; saga leaves; denture stomatitis; removable dentures, Abstrak: Candida albicans merupakan jamur oportunistik penyebab infeksi jaringan lunak di rongga mulut yang dikenal denture stomatitis yang sering dialami pada pemakai gigi tiruan lepasan. Pemeliharaan kebersihan gigi tiruan dapat mencegah terjadinya pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans. Pengobatan menggunakan tanaman herbal kini semakin dimanfaatkan seperti daun saga karena kandungan daun saga berpotensi memiliki efek melawan pertumbuhan jamur. Daun saga mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin, saponin, kuinon, steroid/terpenoid. Senyawa aktif tersebut memiliki aktivitas antijamur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antijamur ekstrak nHeksana dan etil asetat daun saga dalam menghambat Candida albicans. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode difusi cakram Kirby-Bauer dengan beberapa konsentrasi yaitu 50%, 25%, 12,5%, 6,25%, 3,125%, dan 1,625%. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan bahwa ekstrak etil asetat daun saga pada konsentrasi 50% memiliki nilai paling tinggi dengan rerata diameter zona hambat sebesar 8,15 mm (daya hambat sedang), sedangkan ekstrak n-Heksana daun saga pada konsentrasi 50% hanya memiliki rerata diameter zona hambat sebesar 1,20 mm. Simpulan penelitian ini ialah ekstrak etil asetat daun saga dapat menghambat pertumbuhan Candida albicans. Kata kunci: antijamur; Candida albicans; daun saga; denture stomatitis; gigi tiruan lepasan
