Abstract

Tuak is a type of alcoholic drink made from palm sugar. Excessive consumption of tuak continuously can increase the levels of uric acid in the body. Uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism. This study aimed to determine the effect of tuak consumption of uric acid levels in the adult community in East Jagaraga Village. This research is an analytical observation using a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique was a simple random sampling of 48 people, namely 24 adults that consumed tuak and 24 adults who did not consume tuak. Data analysis in SPSS used an independent sample t-test. The average uric acid levels in 24 respondents that consumed and did not consume tuak were 7.46 mg/dl and 4.92 mg/dl, respectively. The results show that there is an effect of tuak consumption uric acid levels in the adult community in the East Jagaraga Village, this is shown in a probability value (p = 0.000) <0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. From these results, it can be concluded that the consumption of tuak in the long term affects increasing uric acid levels.

Abstract

Carbohydrate diet is a diet pattern that reduces carbohydrate consumption. Therefore, the body will use fat as an alternative energy source. The continuous use of fat causes the accumulation of fatty acids so that it often causes ketone positivity in the urine. Objective : Find out the effect of a carbohydrate diet program on the positivity of urine ketones. Method : This research is an analytic observational study with a cross sectional approach. The sample used was urine from respondents who had been on a carbohydrate diet for 1 year, 2 years and 3 years, then urine ketones were examined using the dipstick method. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test with a confidence value (α = 0.05). Result : The sample in this study amounted to 45 samples, with a total of 23 samples of positive ketones and 22 samples of negative ketones. The results of the Chi Square test obtained an Asymp. sig value of 0.009 <0.05 (α) which indicates that the carbohydrate diet program has a significant effect on the positivity of urine ketones.

Abstract

Physical activity is body movement that requires skeletal muscles and can cause energy expenditure. Physical activity is divided into three, namely light, moderate and heavy physical activity. Construction workers who carry out heavy physical activity for 7 to 8 hours every day can lose a lot of energy and fluids as well as important micronutrients, one of which is iron. Apart from carrying out heavy physical activities, construction workers also have an active smoking habit, which means they are considered active smokers if they smoke more than 20 cigarettes every day. Smoking is something that can cause health problems and smoking has become the biggest cause of death in the world. Cigarette raw materials such as tar, nicotine and carbon monoxide are the main toxicants that can trigger the formation of free radicals. The Research objective is to determine the description of SGPT levels in construction workers who have an active smoking habit. The methods of this research design is descriptive observational research where this research was carried out using the enzymatic kinetic method a total of 28 samples based on calculations using the Slovin formula. The results of the research is examining SGPT levels in construction workers from 28 samples showed an increase in active smokers 11-15 years, namely 3 samples and active smokers 16-20 years, namely 2 samples, there was an increase or were outside the normal value, which is where the normal value of SGPT levels in men -men, namely 42 U/L. The conclusion of this research is showed that 5 of the 28 samples had increased SGPT levels with levels of 63 U/L, 58 U/L, 52 U/L and 49 U/L in 2 samples.

Abstract

Pemeriksaan LED bermanfaat untuk memantau perjalanan penyakit dan memantau keberhasilan terapi penyakit kronik misalnya arthritis rheumatoid dan tuberculosis. Metode pemeriksaan LED diantaranya metode westergren dan wintrobe, kedua metode ini merupakan cara manual. Tujuan penelitian pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui faktor koreksi nilai laju endap darah pada penderita tuberkulosis menggunakan metode westergren dan wintrobe. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini bersifat pre-eksperimen dengan 2 kelompok perlakuan LED yaitu diuji dengan metode westergren dan wintrobe. Hasil penelitian  didapatkan jumlah hasil pemeriksaan LED metode westergren 622 mm/jam dengan rerata 38,875 mm/jam dan jumlah hasil pemeriksaan LED metode wintrobe 520 mm/jam dengan rerata 32,5 mm/jam. Rentang nilai metode westergren 12-115 mm/jam, rentang nilai metode wintrobe 18-47 mm/jam kemudian hasil pemeriksaan LED dari metode westergren dan wintrobe dikalikan dengan faktor koreksi kemudian hasil perkalian akan dimasukkan dalam rentang nilai masing-masing metode, metode yang hasil perhitungannya lebih banyak berada dalam rentang nilai adalah metode yang lebih baik untuk melakukan pemeriksaan LED. Uji normalitas dan homogenitas tidak berdistribusi normal dan tidak homogen, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji statistik Mann Whitney. Dari tabel hasil analisis Mann Whitney menunjukkan nilai p 0,895 > 0,05. Karena nilai p lebih besar dari α 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna antara dua kelompok dengan begitu Ha ditolak. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini metode westergren adalah metode yang paling baik digunakan untuk melakukan pemeriksaan LED dari pada metode wintrobe karena hasil pemeriksaan metode westergren yang telah dikalikan dengan faktor koreksi lebih banyak berada dalam rentang nilai yaitu 15 hasil perkalian (93,75%).
