Abstract

Urinalisa is a diagnostic test used to monitor kidney and urinary tract conditions. In the dipstick method, the most important parameters for urinalisa testing are bacteria, white blood cells, red blood cells, nitrite, and protein. Morning urine and urine collected 12 hours later can affect the testing results for nitrite, white blood cells, and pH in patients with urinary tract infections (UTIs). To determine the effect of urine sample type on the results of nitrite, white blood cells, and pH in patients with urinary tract infections (UTIs) using the dipstick method. This study employed an observational analytical design with a purposive sampling method, selecting patients with UTIs who visited RSUD Kab. Dompu in 2024 based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in a total sample size of 24. The results of the examination were mostly positive for nitrites and leukocytes, while the pH tended to be normal with morning urine samples. However, the majority were positive for nitrites and leukocytes, while the pH tended to be normal with 12-hour urine samples in UTI sufferers at District Hospital Dompu. There is an influence on examining the types of morning urine samples and 12 hour urine samples on the results of nitrite and leukocytes in UTI sufferers at District Hospital Dompu.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever diagnosis is supported by examining Blue Plasma Lymphocytes and C-Reactive Protein, in which Blue Plasma Lymphocytes can distinguish Dengue and Non-Dengue infections. At the same time, the C-Reactive Proteins are used to see the presence of inflammation due to infections such as Dengue Virus infection. Objectives: To analyzed the correlation of the number of Blue Plasma Lymphocytes with C-Reactive Protein (CRP) levels in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever patients. Methods: This study was analytical observational research with a cross-sectional design. The sample used was a patient diagnosed with DHF with a positive Nonstructural protein 1 (NS1) or Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) IgG/IgM result. The data was collected and analyzed using Spearman's rank statistical test. Results: The average number of Blue Plasma Lymphocytes in positive samples was 8%, with the number of negative results, namely 4 (13.33%) samples and 26 (86.67%) samples with positive Blue Plasma Lymphocyte results. The average level of C–Reactive Protein in the positive samples was 29.36 mg/L, with results that had normal levels were 11 (36.67%) samples and 19 (63.33%) samples with abnormal C-Reactive Protein levels. Spearman's Rank statistical test results obtained a value of p = 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a correlation between the number of Blue Plasma Lymphocytes and C–Reactive  Protein levels in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever patients. Conclusion: The more Blue Plasma Lymphocytes, the higher C–Reactive Protein levels in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. Keywords: blue plasma lymphocytes, C–reactive protein, dengue hemorrhagic fever

Abstract

Malaria is an infectious disease that still provides a high morbidity rate in the world.  Malaria affects almost all blood components, one of which is hemoglobin levels. In malaria infection, there is a decrease in hemoglobin levels due to the destruction of excessive red blood cells by the malaria parasite. Asymptomatic malaria infection plays an important role in malaria transmission as it is a major influence on ongoing treatment-based malaria control programs. The research objective in this study was to know the effects of parasite density on hemoglobin levels in patients with Asymptomatic Malaria disease in Gunung Sari. The research study used is an analytic observational study with a Cross-Sectional approach with the Accidental sampling method and the Consecutive sampling method. The result of the study is out of the 14 samples diagnosed with asymptomatic malaria, 12 people (85.7%) had a mild degree of parasitemia based on parasite density calculations (8-800 / μl), and 2 people (14.3%) had moderate degrees of parasitemia (801- 8800 / μl). As many as 6 people (42.9%) had normal Hb levels, and 8 people (57.1%) had Hb levels below normal values. The conclusion of this study proved that there is a significant correlation between parasite density and hemoglobin levels in asymptomatic malaria patients in Gunung Sari.

Abstract

Background: Packed Red Cell (PRC) is the most widely used blood component in transfusion. In general, PRC is used for patients with anemia that is not accompanied by a decrease in blood volume, such as patients with hemolytic, acute leukemia, chronic leukemia, thalassemia, and chronic renal failure. The quality of the PRC component is done by checking the hemoglobin and hematocrit levels in the blood component products produced. In transfused blood storage there are elements of blood storage lesions including: morphological changes, slowing metabolism with decreased adenosine triphosphate (ATP) concentration, acidosis with decreased 2,3 diphosphoglycerate (2,3-DPG) concentration. This will pose a risk to the safety and efficacy of long-stored PRC.. Research Objectives: Knowing the Effect of Blood Storage Duration on the Quality of Packed Red Cell (PRC) Blood in the Blood Transfusion Unit of North Lombok Regency Hospital. Research Methods: This research is a pre-experimen The study population was all PRC blood in the Blood Transfusion Unit of NorthLombok District Hospital. The sample used was PRC blood taken randomly with a total of 24 experimental units. Using primary data and statistically analyzed with Kruskal-Wallis test. The Results: The average hemoglobin level on day 21 storage was 50.3 g/unit, day 28 was 48.8 g/unit, and on day 35 was 47.1 g/unit. The average hematocrit value on day 21 of storage was 65.6%, day 28 was 63.6%, and on day 35 was 61.4%. The results of the PRC blood quality assessment showed that on day 21 storage the blood quality was good, while on day28 and day 35 storage the PRC blood quality was not good. Effect of bloodstorage duration on PRC blood quality (p = 0.000 < α = 0.05). Conclusion: There is an effect of storage duration on the quality of PRC blood.

Abstract

Handling infectious diseases, such as Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), will be successful if it involves all levels of society. One of the spearheads of health service activities is posyandu cadres. Posyandu cadres' knowledge regarding infectious diseases, especially Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), is still lacking, and it is known that the viral infectious disease that remains a scourge on health is dengue hemorrhagic fever. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) often causes health problems for the community and often causes outbreaks of Extraordinary Events (KLB) with large numbers of deaths. Techniques that can be used are education about Dengue and training of mosquito larvae monitors for cadres at Community Health Centers. The aim of carrying out this activity is to increase cadres' knowledge of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever and the Rapid Test for Dengue Dengue NS-1. The target of this activity is the North Cakranegara posyandu cadre group. The results of the outreach and training showed an increase in cadres' knowledge and skills regarding the prevention and use of the NS-1 Dengue Rapid Test.
