Abstract

Based on self-determination theory, this study identified the effect of conscientiousness on the affective commitment to change of lecturers in Indonesian universities. This study empirically examined the uniqueness of conscientiousness which is strongest and most consistently associated with various outcomes. The mediation effect of psychological ownership of lecturers was also examined. A total of 321 responses were analyzed using a two-stage structural equation modeling (SEM) approach to confirm factors and test the study hypotheses. The results showed that the level of conscientiousness had a significant effect on psychological ownership. Conscientiousness had a significant indirect effect on affective commitment to change only through the psychological ownership of the lecturers. These results support the mediating role of lecturers' psychological ownership level in explaining the influence between conscientiousness and the level of affective commitment to change for lecturers.

Abstract

Indonesia's rapid population growth and urbanization have intensified concerns about the rising demand for energy, making it crucial to understand the relationship between population density and energy consumption for effective policymaking. This study utilizes the STIRPAT model with multiple estimation methods, including OLS, FE, RE, FGLS, and PCSE, to explore the relationship between household energy use and population density at the provincial level in Indonesia. The analysis is based on data from 2018 to 2022, focusing on household electricity and gas usage ratios as dependent variables. Independent variables include Gross Domestic Regional Product (GDRP) Per Capita, total population, population density, and the percentage of value added by GDRP. The results indicate a positive relationship between population density and household electricity and gas consumption during the study period. These findings emphasize the need for targeted and efficient energy policies to address the growing energy demand associated with population density trends

Abstract

Poverty is a problem that still occurs in many countries, both developed and developing countries. One of the important pieces of information from using microdata is to provide a map of the characteristics of the target households. Characteristics of poor households obtained through analysis of micro poverty data. The data used in this study is IFLS (Indonesian Family Life Survey) 5 data using data from the Provinces of DI Yogyakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, DKI Jakarta, and Banten. The variables used are characteristic variables from the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) indicators, namely household health, health insurance, school level, and quality of household life in the form of sanitation, drinking water, electricity, cooking fuel, vehicles, electronics, and savings. This study found that there are differences in poverty calculated by applying monetary and multidimensional poverty. This research shows that monetary (consumption) alone is not enough to explain the deprivation faced by the poor. The low level of education, health, and household quality in the form of drinking water is a concern for the government to evaluate existing programs and policies.

Abstract

Document management and filing systems are crucial elements in business operations, ensuring that documents are well-organized, secure, and easily accessible. The ‘Document Control and Filing System’ training was conducted over three days, from December 10–12, 2024, at éL Hotel Yogyakarta Malioboro. This training aimed to enhance participants' understanding of Document Control and Filing Systems and their implementation in the workplace. The training was attended by two participants from PT Cirebon Power in a private format, allowing for interactive discussions and in-depth material exploration. The training methods included presentations, discussions, case studies, and evaluations through pre-tests and post-tests. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding of document management principles, filing classification, as well as data security and accessibility. Participants also gained more confidence in implementing a more systematic filing system in their companies. This training's implementation demonstrated that a discussion and case study-based approach effectively enhanced participants' competencies. With high enthusiasm and positive results, similar training programs can be further developed with a stronger focus on document digitalization and the implementation of technology in filing management.

Abstract

Based on self-determination theory, this study identified the effect of servant leadership on the affective commitment to change of lecturers in Indonesian. This study empirically examined the specificity of the servant leadership construct when compared with other positive leadership constructs. The mediation effect of psychological ownership of lecturers was also examined. A total of 321 responses were analyzed using a two-stage structural equation modeling (SEM) approach to confirm factors and test the study hypotheses. The results showed that the level of servant leadership had a significant effect on psychological ownership, and servant leadership had a significant indirect effect on affective commitment to change only through psychological ownership of the lecturers. Research limitations and implications are discussed and future directions of research are suggested

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the spatial patterns and determining factors influencing the number of Micro and Small Industries (MSIs) in rural areas of East Java Province. Using 2024 PODES data from 3,225 rural villages, a spatial econometric approach is applied through Moran’s Index, Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA), as well as estimations of the Spatial Autoregressive (SAR) and Spatial Error Model (SEM). The results reveal significant positive spatial autocorrelation in the distribution of MSIs, with the identification of High-High clusters concentrated in several regencies such as Pamekasan, Sumenep, and Bojonegoro. Regression model estimations indicate that the number of village markets, the presence of public transportation, cooperatives, internet signal availability, access to microcredit, and social capital are positively associated with the number of MSIs. These findings underscore the importance of local infrastructure, digital access, economic institutions, and social networks in promoting rural microeconomic growth. The proposed policy implications include the development of MSI-based cluster areas, strengthening of connectivity infrastructure, and empowerment of village-level economic institutions with a spatial focus.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of social safety-net programs on food security among vulnerable groups, focusing on households with informal workers. Utilizing data from the High-Frequency Monitoring of the COVID-19 Impacts 2020 (HiFy) and estimates with the Longitudinal Propensity Score Matching (LPSM) method, the findings reveal that cash and food assistance significantly reduce food insecurity among informal workers’ households. The households receiving these safety net programs experienced an 8–11% lower probability of food insecurity compared to non-recipients, as indicated by the Average Treatment Effect on the Treated (ATT) value. The study highlights the need for continued investment in inclusive and effective safety net programs to safeguard vulnerable populations, particularly in developing countries with significant informal labor forces.
