Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of a preliminary study conducted by researchers in the field showing that students' interest in reading is very lacking, especially regarding good reading comprehension, causing elementary school students who are at the concrete stage to need tools in the form of media that can clarify what will be conveyed by the teacher. This study uses a qualitative approach. The instruments used are student observations, reading skills, interviews and assignments. Based on the results of the study, several research findings were obtained through data collection tools such as observation, interviews, and documentation. In the research on Analysis of Using Letter Card Media in Improving Reading Ability for Grade 1 SD Negeri Cengkareng Barat 14 Pagi, the findings of this study will be analyzed for data including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the research and discussion that have been described, it can be concluded as follows. After the implementation of letter card media in learning to read the beginning of grade 1 SD Negeri Cengkareng Barat 14 Pagi there was an increase of 81.25%. Thus, the application of letter card media can improve the early reading ability of students in grade 1 SD Negeri Cengkareng Barat 14 Pagi in 2021/2022.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh disiplin kerja, pembinaan rohani, dan tunjangan kinerja terhadap kinerja petugas Lembaga Pemasyarakatan Kelas I Tangerang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan desain penelitian survey. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 115 petugas dari populasi sebanyak 161 petugas yang dipilih melalui teknik random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi dan kuesioner serta dianalisis menggunakan metode analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa disiplin kerja, pembinaan rohani, dan tunjangan kinerja secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja petugas. Disiplin kerja memberikan kontribusi paling besar, diikuti oleh tunjangan kinerja dan pembinaan rohani. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa peningkatan pada aspek disiplin kerja dan tunjangan kinerja dapat langsung meningkatkan kinerja petugas, sedangkan pembinaan rohani juga penting sebagai penunjang dalam membentuk sikap dan motivasi kerja yang baik. Studi ini memberikan implikasi bahwa untuk meningkatkan kinerja petugas, manajemen Lembaga Pemasyarakatan harus memperhatikan dan meningkatkan kualitas disiplin kerja, menyediakan tunjangan kinerja yang memadai, serta rutin melakukan kegiatan pembinaan rohani. Penelitian ini juga merekomendasikan perlunya evaluasi dan penyesuaian berkala terhadap kebijakan yang berlaku guna memastikan efektivitas dari ketiga faktor tersebut dalam meningkatkan kinerja petugas

Abstract

IPA merupakan rumpun ilmu, karakteristik khusus yang mempelajari fenomena alam yang faktual (factual), baik berupa kenyataan (reality), atau kejadian (event) dan hubungan sebab akibatnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemahaman konsep siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA pada siswa kelas IV SDN Panunggangan 4 Pinang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskripsi dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data berupa Observasi, Tes, dan Wawancara. Pemeriksaan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Data dianalisis melalui langkah-langkah pengumpulan data, reduksi data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Responden pada penelitian ini berjumlah 6 orang yakni siswa kelas IV. Hasil kesimpulan dari penelitian melalui observasi, tes, dan wawancara dalam penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dapat memahami pembelajaran IPA sesuai dengan tujuh indikator pemahaman konsep yaitu : 1) Menyatakan ulang konsep, 2) Mengklasifikasikan objek-objek menurut sifat-sifat tertentu (sesuai dengan konsepnya), 3)Memberikan contoh dan non-contoh dari konsep, 4) Menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai bentuk representasi, 5) Mengembangkan syarat perlu atau syarat cukup suatu konsep, 6) Menggunakan, memanfaatkan, dan memilih prosedur atau operasi tertentu, 7) Mengaplikasikan konsep atau algoritma pemecahan masalah.

Abstract

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is an interdisciplinary educational approach that focuses on the practical application of knowledge and skills in these four areas. STEM education aims to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills essential for success in the 21st century. STEM education has become increasingly important in recent years as technology has transformed nearly every aspect of our lives. This research aims to: (1) What are the benefits of STEM in-action projects? (2) how can STEM in-action projects be effectively implemented in educational and professional settings? (3) what are the real-world applications of STEM, and how are they impacting society? and (4) what is the future of STEM in action, and what trends and developments are shaping its direction? This research is a literature review involving 17 journals published in 2019-2023. The results of this study found that: (1) STEM can help the student to develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and creativity; (2) provide students with opportunities to work on authentic problems, promoting collaboration and teamwork, and provide professional development for educators; (3) healthcare, energy, and the environment, (4) data science and artificial intelligence; (4) the growing demand for STEM professionals, and the need for greater diversity and inclusivity in STEM fields. STEM in-action: Real-world applications of STEM is a concept that seeks to bridge the gap between theory and practice in STEM education. It is an approach that emphasizes applying STEM principles in real-world scenarios, allowing students to see how the concepts they learn in class are relevant to the world around them. STEM in action is a fundamental approach to STEM education that helps students develop practical skills and knowledge while preparing them for the challenges of the 21st century

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan keterampilan (Latram), regulasi pra pengakhiran dinas (prakhirdin), dan motivasi kerja terhadap masa persiapan pensiun (MPP) secara parsial dan simultan. Lokasi penelitian di Satuan Kerja (Satker) Markas Besar (Mabes) Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia (Polri). Metode penelitian kuantitatif diterapkan dalam kasus ini. Responden sebanyak 320 anggota Polri satker Mabes Polri. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan hasil pengolahan data diolah secara analisis statistik penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Latram, regulasi prakhirdin, dan motivasi kerja berpengaruh terhadap MPP secara parsial dan simultan.

Abstract

This study seeks to examine the influence of workplace stress as well as work-life balance on employees' performance at the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) through the mediation of job satisfaction. This research aims to investigate the effect of implementing remote work at DGT during the COVID-19 epidemic, specifically focusing on the potential effects of increased stress, work-life imbalance, as well as decreased employee performance. This study employed a quantitative approach, involving 504 employees of DGT, who were selected as respondents from diverse backgrounds in terms of age, education, marital status, length of service, as well as position. The respondents were located across several regions of Indonesia. Multiple linear regression as well as path analysis are employed for analysis, along with statistical testing utilizing the t-test as well as F-test. The results of the hypothesis test indicated a significant as well as unfavorable effect of job stress on both job satisfaction as well as performance. The equilibrium among work as well as personal life has a notable as well as beneficial influence on both job contentment as well as productivity. Job satisfaction could serve as a mediator in the connection among job stress as well as work-life balance, influencing the job performance of DGT personnel.

Abstract

Learning saturation is a person's psychological condition in the form of boredom and excessive fatigue, resulting in a lack of enthusiasm to carry out learning activities. If the student loses the spirit of learning and motivation in learning, the student will be saturated in learning. The large number of tasks at school makes students feel saturated and often ignores tasks. The focus of the research is to analyze teacher strategies in overcoming learning saturation during the online learning period. This study aims to find out what are the teacher's strategies in overcoming student learning saturation during the online learning period of class IV A. The method used is descriptive qualitative by using data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Data obtained using data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Based on data analysis, teacher strategies were obtained in overcoming learning saturation during the pandemic by applying various methods, approaching parents and students such as home visit activities and evaluating each end of learning by providing motivations to students.

Abstract

Mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi membutuhkan latihan, umpan balik, dan pengembangan profesional berkelanjutan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk memahami perspektif dan pengalaman para profesional STEM mengenai pentingnya komunikasi yang efektif dan dampaknya terhadap pertumbuhan dan pencapaian profesional mereka. Melalui wawancara mendalam dan analisis tematik, penelitian ini menyelidiki sifat multifaset keterampilan komunikasi dalam STEM. Temuan penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya komunikasi verbal, tertulis, dan visual dalam STEM. Analisis kualitatif mengungkapkan keterampilan komunikasi verbal praktis. Ini termasuk menyajikan temuan penelitian secara efektif dan terlibat dalam dialog interdisipliner, memungkinkan para profesional STEM untuk berkolaborasi secara efektif, bertukar ide, dan mendorong inovasi. Selain itu, penelitian ini mengungkap peran penting komunikasi visual dalam menyampaikan konsep ilmiah yang kompleks kepada peserta yang beragam. Studi ini menunjukkan bagaimana alat bantu visual yang berdampak, seperti visualisasi dan ilustrasi data, meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan pemahaman informasi ilmiah, yang mengarah pada peningkatan keterlibatan dan penyebaran pengetahuan yang lebih luas. Profesional STEM menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam mengembangkan dan mengasah keterampilan komunikasi mereka. Ini mengeksplorasi hambatan, seperti kurangnya penekanan pada pelatihan komunikasi dalam pendidikan STEM dan norma budaya yang memprioritaskan keahlian teknis daripada komunikasi yang efektif. Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi strategi dan sumber daya yang digunakan para profesional STEM untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi mereka, termasuk partisipasi dalam lokakarya, mencari bimbingan, dan memanfaatkan platform digital untuk komunikasi sains—peran penting keterampilan komunikasi dalam mencapai kesuksesan dibidang STEM. Komunikasi verbal, tertulis, dan visual yang efektif sangat penting dalam mendorong kolaborasi interdisipliner, penyebaran pengetahuan, dan inovasi. Dengan mengenali dan mengatasi tantangan yang terkait dengan keterampilan komunikasi, program pendidikan dan penelitian STEM dapat membekali para profesional dengan lebih baik dengan alat yang diperlukan untuk menjembatani kesenjangan antara keahlian teknis dan dampak sosial yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education is the principal capital to improve the nation's economic dignity. Students' STEM abilities must be different from the role of teachers as facilitators in the learning process at school. The ability of elementary school teachers to apply STEM approaches is critical, especially in mathematics and natural sciences (IPA) studies. The study aims to identify how elementary school teachers are integrating STEM approaches. We used a qualitative case study research method, conducting in-depth interviews with two math teachers and two science teachers from the city and the village. The findings suggest differences in teachers' ability to apply STEM approaches during classroom instruction. Three aspects affect this difference: (1) lack of teacher professional development (training, seminars, or workshops); (2) facilities for obtaining information (equipment such as laboratories and computers); and (3)  different abilities of students (intellectual intelligence). There are differences in the ability of teachers in urban and rural areas to implement STEM approaches. Teachers who teach in villages have limited knowledge of integrated STEM; internal and external factors greatly influence the differences. Therefore, policymakers must undertake more programs and activities to develop their ability to implement STEM approaches. We suggest further research to explore the factors that affect teachers' ability to integrate STEM. We discuss the limitations and implications of this study.

Abstract

Di abad ke-21, pendidikan Sains, Teknologi, Teknik, dan Matematika (STEM) memainkan peran penting dalam membangun tenaga kerja yang kuat untuk era digital. Bidang STEM sangat penting untuk inovasi, pertumbuhan ekonomi, dan daya saing global. Namun, ada kekurangan tenaga profesional terampil di bidang STEM, yang merupakan tantangan besar bagi bisnis dan industri. Era digital telah mengantarkan teknologi baru dan tuntutan akan pekerja terampil dengan pengetahuan dan keahlian mutakhir. Oleh karena itu, sangat penting untuk mempromosikan pendidikan STEM dan mendorong siswa untuk mengejar karir STEM. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang melibatkan empat dosen dengan teknik pengumpulan data secara wawancara. Hasil penelitian dapat dicapai dengan menyediakan pendidikan STEM berkualitas tinggi, menyempurnakan kurikulum, melibatkan siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran langsung, dan mengembangkan kemitraan antara industri dan akademisi. Kesimpulannya, berinvestasi dalam pendidikan STEM sangat penting untuk membangun tenaga kerja yang lebih kuat di era digital dan memastikan bahwa individu dan komunitas berkembang dalam ekonomi abad ke-21. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menyoroti meningkatnya permintaan akan tenaga kerja STEM yang kuat di era digital, menekankan kebutuhan untuk memprioritaskan prakarsa pendidikan dan pelatihan STEM. Pembuat kebijakan harus mengalokasikan sumber daya untuk meningkatkan kurikulum STEM, mempromosikan pengalaman belajar langsung, dan mendorong kolaborasi antara lembaga pendidikan dan mitra industri. Selain itu, pendidik harus fokus pada pengembangan keterampilan berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, dan literasi digital di kalangan siswa untuk mempersiapkan mereka menghadapi pasar kerja yang berkembang. Perusahaan harus berpartisipasi aktif dalam membentuk program pendidikan STEM, menyediakan magang, dan peluang bimbingan untuk menjembatani kesenjangan keterampilan dan menumbuhkan tenaga kerja yang sangat terampil. Penelitian mungkin mengandalkan ukuran sampel yang terbatas atau wilayah geografis tertentu, yang dapat mempengaruhi generalisasi temuan. Selain itu, fokus studi pada tenaga kerja era digital mungkin mengabaikan sektor penting lainnya atau kemajuan teknologi di masa depan. Selain itu, penelitian tidak mempertimbangkan pengaruh perbedaan budaya, sosial ekonomi, dan gender pada pendidikan STEM dan pengembangan tenaga kerja. Studi masa depan harus bertujuan untuk mengatasi keterbatasan. The digital era has ushered in new technologies and demands for skilled workers with up-to-date knowledge and expertise. Therefore, promoting STEM education and encouraging students to pursue STEM careers is imperative. This study used a qualitative method involving four lecturers with interview data collection techniques. Research outcomes can be achieved by providing high-quality STEM education, enhancing curricula, engaging students in hands-on learning activities, and developing partnerships between industry and academia. In conclusion, investing in STEM education is critical to building a more robust workforce in the digital age and ensuring that individuals and communities thrive in the 21st-century economy. The implications of this research highlight the growing demand for a strong STEM workforce in the digital age, emphasizing the need to prioritize STEM education and training initiatives. Policymakers should allocate resources to improve STEM curricula, promote hands-on learning experiences, and encourage collaboration between educational institutions and industry partners. In addition, educators should focus on developing critical thinking, problem-solving and digital literacy skills among students to prepare them for the evolving job market. Companies should actively participate in establishing STEM education programs, providing internships and mentorship opportunities to bridge skills gaps and cultivate a highly skilled workforce. Studies may rely on limited sample sizes or specific geographic areas, which can affect the generalizability of the findings. In addition, the focus of studies on the digital age workforce may need to pay more attention to other essential sectors or future technological advances. In addition, the research does not consider the influence of cultural, socioeconomic, and gender differences on STEM education and workforce development. Future studies should aim to overcome the limitations.
