Abstract

Oil palm productivity cannot be separated from where the seeds come from. The success of a nursery is seen from the quality of the seeds produced. One factor that influences seed growth is the fertigation system. One of the renewable fertigation systems is the drip fertigation system. This research aims to analyze the comparison of vegetative growth in various plot conditions in the drip fertigation system by actually comparing the results of measuring the vegetative growth of seedlings with the drip fertigation system. The research was carried out at PT. Bumi Permai Lestari Perkebunan Bukit Intan Estate (BINE) is located in Ds.Terentang, Kec.Kelapa, West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Province. This research was carried out from April 2023 to October 2023. The research was carried out using quantitative analysis methods as primary data for the research data which was analyzed using the one-way variance test method at a 5% level followed by DMRT test. The results showed that plots with flat elevations and normal distances had superior vegetative growth compared to seedlings in plots located far from reservoirs and plots with sloping elevations. It was concluded that the location and topography of the main nursery plot had a real (significant) influence on the vegetative growth (seedling height, number of leaves, and stem circumference) of oil palm seedlings with a drip fertigation system, where the sloping topography had an unfavorable influence on the growth of oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

Kegiatan P5 pada kurikulum merdeka diharapkan dapat menanamkan karakter pada pribadi peserta didik berdasarkan nilai-nilai Pancasila. Gaya hidup berkelanjutan merupakan salah satu tema dalam kegiatan P5. Pengenalan pertanian pada anak merupakan salah satu kegiatan yang termasuk dalam gaya hidup berkelanjutan perlu diajarkan sedini mungkin. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pengalaman bagi anak untuk mengenal berbagai media tanam, cara menanam tanaman di berbagai media tanam, dan cara merawatnya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di SD Pedagogia Yogyakarta. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan memberikan ceramah kepada siswa kelas 1 tentang macam-macam media tanam serta penyiapan media sebelum menanam. Selanjutnya siswa diajak menaman tanaman hias menggunakan berbagai media tanam. Setiap anak memiliki tanggung jawab untuk merawat tanamann masing-masing. Melalui kegiatan ini siswa dapat mengenal berbagai macam media tanam, mengetahui perlakuan persiapan penanaman dengan berbagai media tanam, serta dapat menanam dan merawat tanaman hias dengan berbagai media tanam.

Abstract

Some types of plants can serve as plant-based insecticides. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) and Turmeric (Curcuma domestica) are ingredients that are often used as pesticides on various plant pests. Spodoptera litura itself is a pest that is quite annoying in various plants. The study aimed to examine ginger (Zingiber officinale) and turmeric (Curcuma domestica) extracts as insecticides to control armyworms (Spodoptera litura). The research was carried out in Pelemsari Village, Prenggan, Kotagede, Yogyakarta from May to June 2022. The study used a Complete Random Design (RAL) with 2 factors. The first factor is the type of extract, namely ginger and turmeric. The second factor is the concentration of the extract which consists of 3 levels, namely 20%, 40%, 60% and control, each treatment is repeated 3 times. To find out the real difference between the data treatments, the observation results were analyzed with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the real level of 5%. Ginger and turmeric extracts at a concentration of 20% have been able to control S. litura larvae. Ginger extract is more effective compared to turmeric extract based on the mortality test, efficacy, death rate, and feed spoilage rate of S. litura larvae. The research is still in the experimental stage in the laboratory and needs to be tested in the field to get an effective dose for armyworms.

Abstract

The research was carried out with the aim of finding out the effect of types compost by product in several types of soil on growth of oil palm seedlings in pre nursery which was carried out in Wedomartani Village, Sleman, Yogyakarta in December 2023-March 2024. It was prepared using factorial experimental method in a Complately randomized desaign which consist of two factors, namely the type of compost, there are 4 types of treatment (with out compost, solid, Mucuna bracteate, and empty bunches), and the type of soil there are 3 types, namely (regusol, latosol, grumosol). In the treatment with out compost (control), standard doses of NPK fertilizer were given. The results of research based on parameter data were analysed using variance at a 5% level, if the effect was real, it was further tested with DMRT at a 5%. The results showed that there was a real interaction between soil type and compost type on canopy fresh weight and leaf area. Providing solid compost, Mucuna bracteate, empty bunches and NPK fertilizer as controls gave the same effect.

Abstract

The research was on ex-coal mining land located in Kintap District, Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan Province, and the oil palm plantation located in Kelumpang Selatan District, Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The increase in palm oil production in Indonesia is followed by increasing in the area of oil palm plantations every year. Arable land is limited, and a ban on opening new land for oil palm plantations affects oil palm companies to utilize existing marginal land for oil palm plantations. The research aims to find out and compare the growth and production of mature oil palm trees planted on ex-coal mining land and original mineral land. The study was conducted from March to April 2023 and used agronomic methods by determining sample blocks and collecting primary and secondary data. That data was obtainable by measuring trees in 2 ex-coal mining blocks and original mineral blocks. Each block consists of 30 sample trees. The data obtained were then analyzed using the t-test at a significance level of 5%. The results showed the stem circumference, number of fronds, and length of fronds on ex-coal mining land were significantly different from the original mineral land, and stem height, number of leaves, petiole width, petiole thickness, and production on ex-coal mining land didn’t show significant differences from the original mineral land.

Abstract

This study was conducted to analyze the effect of composting from oil palm fronds and soil type variations, as well as the interaction of these two factors on the development of oil palm seedlings at the main nursery stage at the Education and Research Garden (KP2) Instiper, Wedomartani Village, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The research method uses a factorial design with two factors arranged in a Complete Random Design (RAL), where the first factor is the dose of palm frond compost consisting of four levels, namely 0 grams as a control, 100 grams, 200 grams, and 300 grams, while the second factor includes three types of soil with different characteristics, namely regosol, latosol, and grumusol. Data analysis was carried out using ANOVA for treatments that showed significant differences. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, there was no significant interaction between the application of oil palm frond compost and soil type on the growth of seedlings in the main nursery, but separately it was found that the application of the highest dose of compost of 300 grams per polybag had a real effect on the growth of oil palm seedlings, while on the other hand, the use of latosol type soil showed a significant positive effect. Especially on the dry weight parameter of oil palm seedlings at the main nursery stage, which indicates that these two factors independently have an important role in optimizing the growth of oil palm seedlings

Abstract

Kegiatan menanam (berkebun) merupakan alternatif kegiatan belajar di luar kelas karena siswa mendapatkan pengalaman secara langsung. Selain itu, edukasi kegiatan berkebun merupakan salah satu media pembelajaran dalam pembentukan karakter serta rasa peduli dan cinta lingkungan pada anak usia dini. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah mengenalkan siswa tentang sistem budidaya tabulampot, jenis-jenis tanaman buah yang bisa ditanam dalam pot, dan praktek menanam serta merawat tabulampot. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di SD Pedagogia Yogyakarta yang diikuti oleh 41 orang siswa kelas 1 yang memiliki rentang usia 5-7 tahun. Tahapan kegiatan ini meliputi survey, persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan monitoring. Kegiatan ini diawali dengan pemberian pengetahuan kepada siswa tentang tanaman buah yang dapat ditanam di pot melalui ceramah dan diskusi. Kemudian siswa diajak untuk mempersiapkan pot dengan cara menghias pot sesuai kesenangan masing-masing menggunakan cat. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pengenalan media tanam, mengisi media tanam ke dalam pot, lalu dilakukan penanaman. Selanjutnya setelah penanaman dilakukan penyiraman lalu dan menambahkan informasi kepada siswa untuk proses merawat tanaman selanjutnya. Melalui kegiatan ini maka terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan siswa tentang tanaman buah dan proses penanaman tanaman buah dalam pot.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest tea producing countries where dry tea production is exported to various countries. The tea industry absorbs a lot of labor both from the area around the tea garden and from outside the garden area. Tea pickers are workers who really need their existence, considering the quality and quantity of tea depends on how they work. The wages of tea pickers are very low due to the small amount of picking weight produced because the picking system is still done manually. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of manual picking mechanization and using scissors on the wages earned by pickers. Sampling was done randomly and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the picking system and the wages of the pickers. The use of picking scissors can increase wages by 40.18%. The increase in pickers' income is expected to be able to motivate pickers to work optimally to increase the welfare of Wonosobo tea pickers.

Abstract

Limbah rumah tangga yang berasal dari aktivitas dapur biasanya menempati urutan teratas sisa konsumsi keluarga. Sampah sisa makanan merupakan sampah organik yang diolah kembali menjadi suatu yang bermanfaat bila dikelola dengan tepat juga menekan polusi di lingkungan serta mengurangi jumlah (kuantitas) sampah yang dibuang ke TPS atau TPA. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi, wawasan, serta skill bagi warga terkait pengelolaan sampah organik di rumah sehingga dapat membantu menurunkan kuantitas sampah rumah tangga yang dibuang ke TPS maupun TPA. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kembaran RT 03 Kelurahan Tamantirto Kapanewon Kasihan Kapanewon Bantul pada Oktober 2024 diikuti oleh 30 orang warga. Kegiatan diawali dengan survey lokasi, pemaparan materi, showing maggot, praktek pengolahan sampah dengan maggot, pemberian maggot, monitoring, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peserta antusias menggunakan maggot sebagai pengolah sampah organik di rumah dan mulai terbangun kebiasan memilah sampah di rumah. Selain itu, proses pengolahan sampah yang dilakukan maggot sangat cepat sehingga tempat sampah jadi tidak berbau. Warga berharap mendapatkan pendampingan sehingga kegiatan terus berlanjut dengan membentuk kelompok baru untuk pengolahan sampah organik rumah tangga. Dari kegiatan dapat disimpulkan bahwa maggot menjadi solusi praktis untuk pengolahan sampah rumah tangga. Dengan metode ini, tidak hanya mengurangi dampak lingkungan tetapi juga mendapatkan manfaat lebih dari sampah organik, serta mengurangi jumlah (kuantitas) sampah yang dibuang ke TPS maupun TPA.
