Abstract

Socialization of Utilization Cocoa Pod Waste Through the Production Eco-Enzyme Training  The estimated amount of cocoa pod shell waste resulting from KT Sidodadi's process of producing dry cocoa beans is around 11,032 kg/year. Converting waste into valuable products such as eco-enzymes is an effort to create a clean environment and produce valuable products. This activity aims to provide farmers with information and skills about processing cocoa shell waste using eco-enzyme manufacturing technology. The method used in this activity is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), which is divided into three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The activity was carried out at KT Sidodadi, Gunungkidul Regency, using cocoa pod skin as an ingredient. The monitoring and evaluation results showed that the manufacturing process was running well and could produce eco-enzyme products that were ready for use. The evaluation found that 92% of group members benefited from this activity, such as their understanding of eco-enzyme technology, benefits, method of manufacture, and use of eco-enzyme in farmers' gardens. This activity also supports the group in dealing with cocoa shell waste from farmers' production process of dry cocoa beans.

Abstract

Cocoa is one of the commodities as a foreign exchange earner in addition to oil and gas. However, Indonesian cocoa imports have increased from year to year due to low cocoa productivity. Whereas in terms of region, Indonesia has the potential to become a new cocoa power country in the world of cocoa production. This study examines the effect of rainfall, the number of rainy days, and air temperature on cocoa production in the Gunungkidul district. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The data used in this study is secondary data in the form of time series data on rainfall, rainy days, air temperature, and cocoa production in 2016-2020 in Gunungkidul Regency. The regression analysis results showed that all observed climatic factors such as rainfall, rainy days, and temperature did not have a significant effect on cocoa production in Gunungkidul Regency. However, the time-series data shows that the highest cocoa production was in October 2017 and November 2018 to January 2019, when rainfall and intensity (rainy days) began to increase. Meanwhile, the air temperature in Gunungkidul Regency for five years is around 24-26°C, which is the optimum temperature for cocoa growth. This study concludes that rainfall, rain intensity (rainy days), and temperature affect fluctuations in cocoa production.

Abstract

Melalui edukasi standarisasi bahan baku diharapkan KWT Menur mampu meningkatkan kualitas produknya sehingga mampu menembus pasar lokal, nasional, hingga internasional

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of growth and root nodules of Mucuna bracteata plants on various planting media compositions. This research was conducted at the Kebun Pendidikan dan Penelitian (KP2) INSTIPER, Maguwoharjo, Depok District, Sleman Regency, from December 2022 to April 2023. This research method is an experimental study arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The research treatment consists of 12 treatments consisting of sand+clay+manure, sand+clay+green manure, sand+clay+bioslurry, sand+manure, sand+green manure, sand+bioslurry, clay+manure, clay+green manure, clay+bioslurry, sand, and clay. Each media mixture uses the same volume ratio. The research data were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) at a significance level of 5%, and the real effect was further tested using DMRT at a level of 5%. The results of the study showed that the composition of sand with manure gave the highest fresh root weight results of Mucuna bracteata, namely 8.59 grams, compared with other compositions, such as clay soil, which gave the lowest root weight results, namely 2.07 grams. The sand and bioslurry mixture produced the highest number of root nodules, root nodule weight, and number of effective root nodules in Mucuna bracteata, with figures of 28.40 nodules, 1.05 grams, and 14.80 nodules, respectively. The sand and bioslurry mixture results showed significant differences from those of other planting media mixtures.
