Abstract

Background : Post anesthesia complication scan be caused by various factors, shivering is quite frequently encountered complications during recovering time. Risks that may happen is increasing of metabolism and make post operative pain worst. This study proves petidine can be used as an alternative to prevent shivering after general anesthesia. Methods : This research includes phase II clinical trials, the sample selection by Quota Sampling of patients are being prepared for elective surgery with general anesthesia, aged 20-40 years, ASA I-II, all patients who meet the criteria for inclusion in the sample until the required number met, willing to volunteer. Randomization was done at the end of the operation. Patients were divided into two groups, Pand S.Severity of shivering were recorded and assessed. Results : Characteristics of patients five minutes before induction did not significant differences. Measurement of systolic blood pressure and heart rate immediately after extubation showed significant differences. Duration of shivering in saline group occurredin almost the same when compared with the treatment group, because after the shivering, the patient is given immediate intervention of meperidine of 25mg for the treatment of shivering occurred, especially given to people who experience shivering with2nd, 3rd, or 4th degree. For patients shivered first degree was given meperidine administration intervention. Duration of shivering in the control group took place in almost the same time. Conclusion : Pethidine had a good effectiveness in preventing the occurrence of shivering after general anesthesia. Keywords: Pethidine, shivering after general anesthesia.

Abstract

Abstract

Congenital talipes equinovarus (CTEV) is a congenital foot deformity affecting one or both extremities with a global prevalence estimated at 0.6-1.5 per 1000 live births. The exact etiology of CTEV remains unclear, although genetic and environmental factors are thought to play significant roles. The deformities in CTEV typically include malposition of the tarsal bones, calf muscle atrophy, and shortening of the affected limb. This article aims to provide additional information on CTEV to facilitate early screening and improve patient prognosis. This study employed a literature review method covering the definition, epidemiology, etiology, pathological anatomy, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, scoring systems, and management of CTEV. Data were obtained through electronic searches in PubMed, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar databases.

Abstract

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease with rising global prevalence and substantial health and psychosocial burden. This review aims to summarize recent advances in molecular pathogenesis and management of AD. Literature was searched in PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and accredited national journals, focusing on the past ten years. Inclusion criteria were full-text articles in English or Indonesian addressing epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, and management. Irrelevant or incomplete studies were excluded. Selected articles were screened, classified by theme, and analyzed narratively following PRISMA guidelines. Findings show that AD prevalence continues to increase worldwide, with major impacts from chronic pruritus, recurrent flares, and psychosocial distress. Key mechanisms include genetic predisposition, especially filaggrin mutations, and immune dysregulation involving Th2, Th17, and Th22 pathways. Current treatments range from topical therapies to biologics and JAK inhibitors, emphasizing individualized care. In conclusion, AD is a lifelong multifactorial disease requiring comprehensive management. Advances in pathophysiology have expanded therapeutic options, with biologics and JAK inhibitors showing strong efficacy. Globally, priorities include precision medicine, early intervention, and wider access to novel therapies. In Indonesia, urgent needs are early detection in primary care, integration of AD management into national health programs, and ensuring affordable treatment access.

Abstract

Trigger finger, also known as stenosing flexor tenosynovitis, is a common hand disorder that impairs daily function due to painful locking and restricted motion of the affected digit. This study aimed to review and synthesize recent evidence on the definition, epidemiology, etiology and risk factors, pathophysiology, diagnostic approach, differential diagnosis, complication, and management of trigger finger in order to identify the most effective treatment strategies. A narrative literature review was conducted by searching PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar for articles published within the last 10 years, focusing on both conservative and surgical interventions. The findings indicate that trigger finger is more prevalent in women and patients with diabetes, with corticosteroid injections and splinting showing variable but significant short‑term improvement, while surgical release particularly open A1 pulley release demonstrates consistently high long‑term success rates. In conclusion, trigger finger remains a prevalent condition with substantial functional impact, and treatment should be individualized based on patient comorbidities and severity of symptoms. It is recommended that clinicians adopt a stepwise approach, beginning with conservative management and progressing to minimally invasive surgical release when necessary. Recent futures have shown that ultrasound guidance in corticosteroid injection techniques as well as in percutaneous release offers promising results with minimal complications.

Abstract

Scabies is a contagious disease caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei var.hominis mite which commonly occurs in neonates and children due to close physical contact and low immune systems. Scabies disease can be found throughout the world without influence by age, race, and socio-economic conditions of the community. Scabies is transmitted through direct skin contact, with a higher risk in environments with poor sanitation. Clinical symptoms that may appear include itching that worsens at night, the formation of papules and burrows. In neonates or infants, symptoms such as crying and restlessness may occur, while in older children, symptoms such as insomnia, fatigue, and lethargy due to itching at night may occur. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of scabies. The writing method used in this literature review is based on references from various sources in Indonesian and English literature. The results of this literature review scabies is a contagious disease caused by the Sarcoptes scabies var hominis which can occur worldwide with a life cycle that occurs on human skin. The diagnosis of scabies can be confirmed by the discovery of two of the four presumptive diagnoses. Management of scabies focuses on preventing the spread, reducing risk factors, and supporting pharmacological treatment. Scabies is a parasitic infection that affects a person's quality of life.
