Abstract

Abstract

Improving the quality and competitiveness of madrasahs is a strategic challenge amid increasingly competitive educational competition. One effort carried out by madrasahs is through the implementation of an acceleration program based on the Semester Credit System (SKS) for high-ability students. This study aims to analyze the management of the acceleration program in enhancing the quality and competitiveness of madrasahs at MTsN 1 Kediri, covering aspects of planning, implementation, evaluation, as well as the challenges and solutions of its implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, with informants including the head of the madrasah, program managers, teachers, and students. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, as well as testing the validity of the data using triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the management of the acceleration program at MTsN 1 Kediri is implemented systematically and continuously, marked by structured planning, adaptive learning implementation according to the characteristics of the students, and program evaluation oriented towards improving both academic and non-academic quality. The acceleration program has been proven to make a significant contribution to enhancing student achievement and strengthening the school's competitiveness at the regional level. The main challenges include managing study time and improving teacher competence, which are addressed through professional training and strengthening institutional collaboration. This research has implications for enhancing Islamic education management practices, as well as providing practical contributions as a model for managing acceleration programs that can be replicated by other madrasahs to improve the quality and competitiveness of institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the roles of musyrif (dormitory supervisors) in improving students’ discipline at Ma’had Al Ummah Pandanwangi Jombang. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with the primary data sources being musyrif and students (santri), and secondary data obtained from relevant documents. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. Thematic analysis was conducted using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana framework data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing while data validity was ensured through source triangulation and member checking. The findings reveal that musyrif play a strategic role in enhancing student discipline through four main functions: (1) conceptor, by initiating ideas and programs such as diniyah activities after Isya prayer; (2) mediator and facilitator, bridging students, parents, and the institution; (3) innovator and creator, by designing creative activities to foster discipline; and (4) policy maker, by formulating and enforcing integrated regulations between the ma’had and the madrasah. These roles contribute to the creation of a conducive, orderly, and disciplined learning environment. This study offers practical insights for Islamic boarding schools in optimizing the role of musyrif as key agents in shaping student discipline. It also contributes theoretically by highlighting the managerial and instructional dimensions of musyrif roles, an aspect less explored in previous studies.

Abstract

A sustainable and diversified revenue structure is essential for higher education institutions to maintain financial stability amid changing funding environments. However, many universities, including the Australian National University (ANU), still face challenges related to dependence on government funding. This study aims to analyze the revenue structure of ANU during the 2022–2023 fiscal years and examine its shift toward financial diversification. This research employs a descriptive quantitative design using common size analysis to evaluate the proportion of each revenue component based on ANU’s official financial reports. The data were analyzed to identify changes in revenue composition and trends across the two fiscal years. The findings indicate that although government funding remains the dominant source of revenue, its proportional contribution has declined, while non-government income particularly from other income sources has increased significantly. This shift reflects a gradual movement toward a more diversified revenue structure. The study contributes to the literature on higher education financial management by providing empirical evidence of revenue diversification in a world-class university context and offers practical insights for developing sustainable and balanced funding strategies
