Abstract

This research is to analyze deixis in the movie of Good Neighbors of a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season four . SpongeBob Square Pants (often referred to simply as SpongeBob) is an American animated television series, created by marine biologist and animator Stephen Hillenburg. Whereas deixis is one of the most important notions in general linguistics and is a vital link between the real-life environment around us such as time frame, physical location, people involved, etc and what we actually say the linguistic terms used. The result describes the kinds of deixis and the referents of deixis in Good Neighbor-SpongeBob Squarepants Transcription which finds many referents that show different kinds of deixis. Finally, From the analysis, it is found that the Pronoun Deixis is often used. In almost all conversation the personal pronoun "you" existed. Its pronoun almost refers to the spongebob and squidward. The other personal pronoun was "we" that refers to spongbob and patrick. Besides, the possessive pronoun "our" has the same interpretation. File pronoun of "I"is used. "I" refers to the actor. The actors are SpongeBob, squidward, patrick and etc. Finally, it is many deixis that is used in Good Neighbor of SpongeBob Squarpants. Thus, many deixises that is found in this transcript.

Abstract

Generasi millenial diartikan dengan generasi yang lahir antara tahun seribu sembilan ratus delapan pulu sampai dua ribu. Generasi ini memiliki ciri utama yakni meningkatnya penggunaan dan kedekatanya dengan media, komunikasi, dan teknologi digital. Dengan kondisi tersebut, peran santri sebagai penyebar nilai-nilai keislaman dan kedamaian di masyarakat luas harus memiliki bekal yang cukup dalam menggunakan media. Dari latar belakang tersebut di atas, pengabdian ini akan mengkaji Hipperealitas Sebagai Simbol Dakwah Santri Millenial Masa Pandemi Covid sembilan belas, Studi Kasus Pondok Pesantren Mahasiswa Se-Kota Semarang. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberi bekal kepada santri tentang etika dakwah di era digital dan bagaimana cara menyajikan media dakwah yang menarik dan dapat diakses oleh banyak orang. Di antara hasil dari pengabdian ini yakni: Pertama, Para Santri sudah optimal memanfaatkan ilmu agamnya untuk berdakwah di Medsos. Kedua, Para santri dapat menggunakan tekhnologi Medsos, mengedit video, dan membuat konten dakwah yang bermanfaat dengan tekhnologi pada Medsos.

Abstract

Dewasa ini, arus digitalisasi semakin deras, interaksi anak dengan media digital semakin intens sehingga orangtua memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga dan mengawasi literasi anak terkhusus anak usia sekolah dasar. Media digital seperti tablet maupun gadget dapat membawa hal positif dan negatif bagi perkembangan kognitif anak pada usia sekolah dasar.  Jika merujuk pada permendikbud, pasal 7 ayat 5 peraturan Menteri nomor 137 tahun 2014 yang berbunyi “pencapaian pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak yang optimal membutuhkan keterlibatan orangtua dan orang dewasa serta akses layanan yang bermutu” (permendikbud, 2014). Oleh karena itu orang tua harus bisa menjadi role model atau panutan bagi anak dalam upaya peningkatan literasi pada anak. Artikel ini akan membahas tentang bagaimana peran orang tua sebagai contoh bagi anak dalam menyeimbangkan penggunaan media digital bagi anak sehigga minat baca anak usia sekolah dasar menjadi meningkat. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif library research penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa peran orang tua sebagai role model dalam kegiatan sehari-hari di rumah dapat berdampak pada peningkatan  literasi anak usia sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk mengadakan pembekalan dan pendampingan implementasi manajemen pembelajaran berbasis online Role-Playing Game (RPG) yang ditujukan kepada guru SMP Negeri 2 Kaliwungu Kudus. Pengabdian ini melibatkan 30 peserta dari unsur guru. Metode penerapan PKM ini menggunakan metode pembekalan dan pendampingan dengan tahapan Training and Education, Experience dan Mentoring. Selanjutnya, Pembekalan dan pendampingan kegiatan dilaksanakan selama 2 hari dari tanggal 16 oktober sampai 17 Oktober 2023. Pada hari pertama, tim pengabdian masyarakat melakukan pembekalan terkait kurikulum merdeka dan bagaimana cara penerapan online RPG pada pembelajaran di kelas. Hari kedua, peserta melakukan praktik untuk pembuatan game online RPG secara mandiri yang didampingi oleh tim pengabdian masyarakat sehingga hasil dari kegiatan PKM adalah guru dapat membuat game online RPG secara mandiri dan mengaplikasikannya ke dalam pembelajaran sehingga meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam hal pengembangan media pembelajaran.This Community Service (PKM) aims to provide provision and assistance in the implementation of online RPG game-based learning management for teachers at SMP Negeri 2 Kaliwungu Kudus. This service involved 30 participants from the teacher element. This method of implementing community service uses the provision and mentoring method with the stages of Training and Education, Experience and Mentoring. Furthermore, provision and assistance for activities was carried out for 2 days from 16 October to 17 October 2023. On the first day, the community service team provided provision regarding the independent curriculum and how to apply online Role-Playing Game (RPG) to classroom learning. On the second day, participants practiced creating online RPG games independently, accompanied by a community service team. Therefore, the results of community service activities are that teachers can create online RPG games independently and apply them to learning so as to increase teachers' abilities in terms of developing learning media.

Abstract

Politeness is the idea of polite social behavior. It represents in through behaviors and the conversation. Someone is considered polite not only if he / she is able use proper language in a proper way. According to Brown and Levinson (1978), politeness is the acts that accounts for the redressing of the affronts to face posed by face-threatening acts to addressees. Therefore, politeness often regards as an action to lessen the face-threatening act. There are no rules how frequent politeness used in conversation, moreover, those who comes from higher status tend to speak in polite way. To them, being polite shows their high education status and maturity thinking. This condition shows in movies, one of which is the Princess Diaries movie. The main characters are royal family, therefore many polite dialogues shown. This study seeks kinds of politeness strategies used in the movie. Ten representative dialogues selected and analyzed to what strategies included. The analysis discussed using a table, grouped them into its strategies, followed by deep explanation. The dialogues grouped to four politeness strategies: positive, negative, bald on record (direct) and off-record (indirect), as stated by Brown and Levinson (1978). The result is 90% of the dialogues used politeness used by people who lives in royal environment, including their staffs. There is a tendency using positive politeness than negative politeness used by the royal. The movie also shows that off-record (indirectness) used to reject undesirable action done by someone.

Abstract

In response to the growing emphasis on meaningful and student-centered English instruction in Indonesian primary schools, this study investigates the effectiveness of an Interactive English Story Book in fostering young learners’ engagement, motivation, comprehension, and autonomous learning. This study explores the potential and educational benefits of an Interactive English Story Book aimed at improving engagement, motivation, comprehension, and usability for young learners. A mixed-methods approach was utilized to combine quantitative trends with qualitative insights, facilitating a thorough understanding of learning processes.  This design was selected to triangulate perceptual data from students and educators within genuine classroom environments.  The investigation included 13 fourth-grade students from a suburban elementary school, serving as a phase to assess feasibility and user feedback.  Data collection involved the use of student questionnaires, classroom observations, and interviews. The results indicated a high level of engagement, motivation, and usability, as students reacted favorably to the visual and interactive elements.  Some minor comprehension challenges were observed in story contexts that were culturally unfamiliar, and educators reported connectivity issues in rural regions. This study presents a unique approach by integrating digital storytelling, English as a Foreign Language pedagogy, and curriculum reform, validated through mixed-method classroom research.  This provides foundational evidence for expanding digital storytelling innovations within Indonesia’s Merdeka Belajar framework and for future longitudinal studies in English as a Foreign Language.

Abstract

The urgency of this service is based on women in lower middleclass communities, especially in the Fatayat Ds. Salakan who always tries to escape the shackles of economic difficulties. The emergence of Socioeconomics which is widespread and developing in society is a signal that productivity and creativity are the main elements in improving the welfare of life. The Socioeconomic-based mentoring concept implemented is not only focused on activities to improve the economic level of the assisted residents, but also pays attention to environmental and social issues. This service aims to develop productivity and creativity using a socioecopreneurship approach with the focus of service being on three things, including (1) Providing counseling and outreach to assisted subjects with the theme: "The Importance of Socio-Economic Independence for Women through Entrepreneurship"; (2) Empowering assisted subjects by maximizing their potential in the form of training (production, packaging, distribution, and marketing) by bringing in competent experts in their respective fields; and (3) Provide post-training assistance. The results of this service are marked by an increase in production numbers, variants, business turnover, and marketing expanding into e-commerce.
