Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kata-kata makian dan bentuk makian yang terdapat pada bahasa Melayu Bengkulu. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah deskriptif. Sumber data berupa penggunaan kata-kata makian dalam bahasa Melayu Bengkulu. Data yang didapatkan berupa kata-kata makian yang dipakai oleh masyarakat bahasa Melayu Bengkulu ketika mereka berinteraksi dengan orang lain. Prosedur pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dengan menggunakan analisis data berupa reduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data (data display), penarikan kesimpulan (conclusion drawing atau verification). Pengecekan keabsahan data, triangulasi data dan triangulasi sumber data tahap-tahap penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa: pengunaan bahasa Melayu Bengkulu masih digunakan oleh masyarakat pesisir pantai di Kecamata Teluk Segara, bahasa Melayu Bengkulu masih mereka gunakan dalam bahasa sehari-hari. Masyarakat pesisir pantai masih menggunakan kata-kata makian dalam berkomunikasi sehari-hari seperti kata: didik, pesek, palak bak kau, turik, mentik, rongak, cerepet, gelenjit, lolo, tolot, buyan, bundung, keparat, klera dan lainnya. Dan adapun bentuk kata makian masyarakat pesisir pantai ini berupa kata, frasa, klausa. Kata Kunci: Bahasa Masyarakat pesisir pantai, Kata makian, Melayu Bengkulu

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the merdeka curriculum in English teaching learning at SMPN 14 Bengkulu City and what were challenges and opportunities that they were faced by them in the learning process. This research was based the greater flexibility for teachers and students in the teaching learning process with a focus on developing students competencies, characters and also many teachers were still inconsistent for implementing the merdeka curriculum in the learning process because of there were certain factors that made it difficult for teachers to implement it such as, the lack of teacher readiness in implementing the merdeka curriculum, limited training or understanding of teachers, lack of resources and facilities, old habits that are difficult to abandon, and lack of student readiness.  This study used qualitative descriptive research. Research data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. This study also used reduction data analysis techniques, data display, and conclusion or verifying data. Researchers also used trustworthiness of the data to get a reliable data to collect valid data. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the merdeka curriculum in English learning has a positive impact on student motivation and participation. Teachers has more freedom in designing and adapting learning materials according to their needs and asking students. However, this study also found several challenges and opportunities, such as limited resources and technical support, as well as the need for further training for teachers to understand and apply the principle of merdeka curriculum effectively. Meanwhile, the opportunity obtained is that teachers are required to be proficient in using digital and can utilize technology in learning.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to describe the character and educational values in the novel Orang-orang Biasa by Andrea Hirata. This research is qualitative research. The method used in this research is descriptive. The data source is a novel with the title Orang-orang Biasa. The data obtained are in the form of words in the novel Orang-orang Biasa. The data collection technique is a note-taking technique because the data is in the form of text using data analysis techniques, informal presentation techniques based on this understanding, and the technique for presenting the results of data analysis in the form of character values, which include honesty, hard work, curiosity, likes to read, discipline, democracy, and love of the country. Analysis of educational values includes the values of love for the homeland, social care, love of peace, creativity, responsibility, and religion. The validity test uses the triangulation method. The results of the research show that the character elements of the characters consist of 7 data points from the analysis, the character values of the characters consist of 21 data points from the analysis, and the educational values consist of 15 data points from the analysis. In conclusion, the novel displays elements of character and educational values, such as honesty, hard work, religion, and social, with a total of 43 data points. Andrea Hirata packaged his disappointment with the world of education into a beautiful work, depicting the struggle of poor children to achieve their dreams. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the types and meanings of battle incantations in Tebat Laut Village, Seberang Musi District, Kepahiang Regency. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a semantic approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process involves three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the battle incantations in Tebat Laut Village serve to defeat enemies by combining spiritual power and natural symbolism. The incantations that paralyze the enemy emphasize the user's identification with divine power and nature, while the incantations that subdue the enemy create fear through symbols of strength, such as tigers. These two types of incantations not only function in physical conflicts but also strengthen social status, bravery, and cultural identity, affirming belief in spiritual power and existing social norms. In conclusion, there are two types of incantations: those that paralyze the enemy and those that subdue the enemy. Both incantations not only serve as verbal expressions in the context of battle but also as representations of the cultural values and fighting strategies of the people of Tebat Laut Village, reflecting hopes for victory and dominance in the conflicts they face. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the professional competence of IAIN English program alumni in using information technology in the 4.0 era in English learning at secondary school. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative and the subjects in this study were English teachers who are alumni of IAIN Bengkulu who teach at the junior high school level in Seluma, Manna and Kaur Regencies. Data analysis in this research is done by classifying and comparing data from observation, interview, and documentation, and data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the result of the study, the data showed that the level of digital literacy skills in using MLS is considered being advanced category only 30% of alumni. Furthermore, the ability of teachers to make MLS learning is only 20% as well as the ability to use learning methods and techniques. Furthermore, among alumni who teach are 30% who experienced in training 20% and the only 10 % of the teachers who developed their own teaching materials on MLS were only 10%. To sum up, most of the teachers who were the alumni were not capable enough in personalizing technology to the classroom. Hence a recommendation it would be necessary for university to prepare their alumni with qualified experiences during their study. Keywords: English, Competence, Professional Teacher

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the functions of language in the lyrics of the Rejang regional song titled "Anak Kunang" by Idil/Widison, focusing on two perspectives: the language function theory of Chaer and Agustina and Jakobson's theory. The method used is qualitative descriptive analysis, where data are obtained from the song lyrics and then analyzed based on relevant language functions. The research findings reveal that the lyrics contain various language functions, such as personal, directive, phatic, referential, and metalingual functions according to Chaer and Agustina, as well as referential, emotive, conative, metalingual, and phatic functions according to Jakobson. In conclusion, the song "Anak Kunang" serves not only as a source of entertainment but also as a medium rich in meaning that conveys the social and cultural values of the Rejang community. This study emphasizes the importance of language as a communication tool that can strengthen social bonds and reflect cultural identity.

Abstract

Local culture such as tembang is starting to disappear where the younger generation tends to prefer foreign culture, thereby making local culture marginalized, tembang is generally better understood by the older generation than the younger generation. The aim to be achieved in this research is to describe, analyze and conclude the rhymes contained in songs in South Bengkulu. This research uses qualitative research. The data source was obtained from primary data. The primary data source came from observations via five YouTube videos on the Wengki Studio channel and secondary data was obtained from document studies which included various sources such as books, journals and theses related to songs in South Bengkulu. The results of this research are that from the first song video there are two perfect rhymes, three front rhymes, two end rhymes, two chain rhymes and sixteen paired rhymes or twin rhymes. From the second song video there are four end rhymes and six broken rhymes from the third song video. There are five cross rhymes from the fourth song video, there are four cross rhymes and from the fifth song video there are two twin rhymes, two end rhymes, two continuous rhymes or chain rhymes and four paired or twin rhymes. Of the five song videos there are five Twenty-four rhymes in the song video in South Bengkulu on the YouTube video channel Wengki Studio. The rhymes that are most often found in this song are twenty-two rhymes in pairs or twin rhymes, while the rhymes that are least found are chain rhymes of two rhymes.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan watak tokoh dan nilai moral yang terdapat pada film Galaksi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah deskriptif. Sumber data berupa film dengan judul Galaksi. Data yang didapatkan berupa adegan dan dialog antar tokoh. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, dengan menggunakan teknik analisis data berupa pengumpulan data, pembersihan data, analisis data, dan interpretasi hasil. Uji validitas menggunakan triangulasi metode. Hasil penelitian berupa watak tokoh dan nilai moral pada film Galaksi, didapatkan 2 tokoh utama yang memiliki watak suka menolong, penurut, bertanggung jawab, baik, perhatian, dan cerdas. Dan 17 tokoh tambahan yang memiliki watak jahat, kasar, pemarah, keras, suka marah, baik, disiplin, tegas, sabar, dewasa, perhatian, ceria, dan pengertian.Kata Kunci: Film, WatakTokoh, Nilai Moral, Film Galaksi.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the lexical semantics in traditional rhymes (pantun) of the community in Kelam Tengah District, Kaur Regency. Pantun is a form of ancient literature that is still preserved in Indonesia, particularly in Kelam Tengah District. It contains both explicit and implicit meanings that need to be explored in depth to understand the local wisdom embedded within. Lexical semantic analysis is employed to comprehend the meanings of words in these rhymes. The research utilizes a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data sources are local pantun collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that various lexical meanings are found within the pantun of Kelam Tengah, conveying messages to readers and listeners. These rhymes reflect aspects of the local community's life, including religious, moral, social, and cultural values. Additionally, pantun serves as a medium for communication, emotional expression, and education for the people in Kelam Tengah. In conclusion, the pantun of Kelam Tengah reflects the community's cultural richness, daily life, and moral values, such as the importance of education, discipline, and adherence to local traditions. Beyond entertainment, these rhymes function as a medium for transmitting wisdom, advice, and aspirations passed down through generations.
