Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze and compare the "AU" and "O" dialects of Serawai language used in Sukarami and Maras villages, Air Nipis District, South Bengkulu Regency. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with dialectological methods, where data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed using inductive techniques, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that there are significant differences between the "AU" and "O" dialects of Serawai, both in phonological and morphological aspects. In the phonological aspect, differences are found in the use of vowels, consonants, diphthongs, and sound changes, while in the morphological aspect, differences are found in affixation, reduplication, and compounding processes. The factors influencing these dialectal differences include geographic, social, and cultural factors of the local community. Furthermore, this study also reveals that the Serawai "O" and "AU" dialects diverged from the proto-language unit about 1,027±104 years ago, between 995-891 BCE. In conclusion, the differences between the "AU" and "O" dialects of Serawai in these two villages are influenced by various factors, including geographic, social, and cultural factors, and they have a linguistic development history that can be traced further through dialectological studies. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the critical thinking skills and the factors influencing the critical thinking abilities of eighth-grade students at SMP N 11 Bengkulu Tengah in Indonesian language learning, which is implemented within the framework of the Merdeka Curriculum. The research method used in this study is qualitative. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMP N 11 Bengkulu Tengah is underway, but students' critical thinking skills are still limited to levels C1 through C4. Although students demonstrate creativity, many still struggle with understanding concepts, which hinders the application of higher-order critical thinking skills. Psychological factors and learning interactions, such as motivation, attitudes, and teaching methods, also influence students' critical thinking abilities in Indonesian language learning. In conclusion, critical thinking skills within the Merdeka Curriculum at SMP N 11 Bengkulu Tengah have been implemented. The thinking processes in the ongoing learning activities have reached levels C1 (Remembering), C2 (Understanding), C3 (Explaining), and C4 (Analyzing). Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of language use in society based on age domains, namely children, teenagers, and adults. The research method used by researchers is a qualitative research method. Based on data on the form of use of the Serawai language and Indonesian using data sources from the Simpang Village community, Seluma district, obtained using the listening method, namely the proficient listening technique, the proficient non-involving listening technique, the recording technique, and the note-taking technique, as well as the proficient or interview method. The results of the research show that the adult community, although able to use the Serawai language actively, shows the dominant use of Indonesian in the form of their language use. Even though teenagers are able to understand the Serawai language, they are not able to use the Serawai language actively, while children have great difficulty and are even no longer able to use the Serawai language. Another indication is the existence of the Indonesian language, which should have displaced the Serawai language by Indonesian. This can be seen from the form of language use of children who actively use Indonesian dominantly. In conclusion, the Serawai language, which is the common language of the Simpang village community, is experiencing a serious shift. Keywords: Communication, Society, Language Shift.

Abstract

The pantun tradition in the Nampun Kule (Proposal) activity in Air Mayan Village, Pasemah Air Keruh District has an important value as a communication medium, which conveys advice, moral messages, and strengthens social and cultural ties. However, along with the development of the era and modernization, the use of pantun in Nampun Kule has begun to decrease. The younger generation is increasingly losing interest in this tradition, so that the preservation of this oral culture faces a major challenge. This raises concerns about the extinction of the pantun tradition as part of the cultural identity of the Pasemah tribe. This study aims to analyze the physical and spiritual elements of pantun in the Nampun Kule activity of the Pasemah tribe in Air Mayan Village, Kampung 7 Air Ringkeh, Pasemah Air Keruh District. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research sources consisted of the traditional leader, the head of the hamlet, the head of the imam, and representatives of the community. The research instruments include interview and observation guidelines. The results of the study show that pantun in Nampun Kule has its own characteristics. In addition to functioning as entertainment, these pantuns also convey moral and spiritual messages, such as hopes for happiness, harmony, and life advice for the bride and groom. Although this tradition has experienced a decline in use due to modernization, the people of Air Mayan Village still maintain pantun as part of their cultural identity. This study contributes to the preservation of traditional culture, especially pantun in Nampun Kule activities, as well as enriching the study of oral arts and culture in Indonesia

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the lexical semantics in traditional rhymes (pantun) of the community in Kelam Tengah District, Kaur Regency. Pantun is a form of ancient literature that is still preserved in Indonesia, particularly in Kelam Tengah District. It contains both explicit and implicit meanings that need to be explored in depth to understand the local wisdom embedded within. Lexical semantic analysis is employed to comprehend the meanings of words in these rhymes. The research utilizes a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data sources are local pantun collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that various lexical meanings are found within the pantun of Kelam Tengah, conveying messages to readers and listeners. These rhymes reflect aspects of the local community's life, including religious, moral, social, and cultural values. Additionally, pantun serves as a medium for communication, emotional expression, and education for the people in Kelam Tengah. In conclusion, the pantun of Kelam Tengah reflects the community's cultural richness, daily life, and moral values, such as the importance of education, discipline, and adherence to local traditions. Beyond entertainment, these rhymes function as a medium for transmitting wisdom, advice, and aspirations passed down through generations. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the forms of internal conflict experienced by the main character in the novel "“Namaku Alam”" by Leila S. Chudori. Utilizing a library research method, the researcher collected data by thoroughly reading and analyzing the novel and relevant literature. The findings indicate the presence of 12 forms of internal conflict, including depression, obsession, anxiety, fear, insecurity, guilt, incapacity, frustration, anger, heartache, dissatisfaction, and attention, comprising a total of 129 data points. Each conflict is characterized by specific emotional responses and psychological manifestations, revealing the complex nature of the protagonist's struggles. The study concludes that the depiction of these internal conflicts reflects the profound psychological turmoil faced by individuals in a socio-political context, thus emphasizing the significance of psychological analysis in literary studies. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to explore the values of community beliefs regarding the legend and grave of Puyang Serunting in Rantau Panjang Village, as well as the functions of these beliefs within the community. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing both primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal five functions of the belief system: 1) reinforcing religious emotions; 2) serving as a system of imaginary projection; 3) acting as an educational tool for children or adolescents; 4) providing a rational folk explanation for incomprehensible natural phenomena; and 5) offering comfort to those affected by misfortune. The study identifies four key values of community beliefs: 1) religious value; 2) customary value; 3) traditional value; and 4) social value. Among these, social value is the most prominent, as it aligns with the legend of Puyang Serunting Sakti, also known as “Si Pahit Lidah” (The Bitter Tongue), whose mystical power makes his words come true. The belief in his powers has fostered social cohesion and remains influential to this day, reinforcing other values such as customs, traditions, and religious practices within the community. In conclusion, the people of Rantau Panjang Village believe in the legend and grave of Puyang Serunting Sakti through customary, traditional, and social values, with social value being the most dominant as it strengthens community bonds. This belief system functions to reinforce religious emotions, educate children, explain natural phenomena, and provide comfort in times of misfortune. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to describe the forms and functions of directive speech acts in the conversations of the film "Naga Naga Naga," directed by Deddy Mizwar. The research method used is descriptive. The data source for this research is the dialogues from the film "Naga Naga Naga." Data were collected using the technique of free involvement listening followed by observation, transcription, and note-taking methods. The results indicate that in the dialogues of the film "Naga Naga Naga," six forms of speech acts were identified: commands, requests, invitations, advice, criticism, and prohibitions. Based on the findings, the functions of directive speech acts in the film "Naga Naga Naga" vary. The form of command includes the functions of commanding, instructing, requiring, forcing, and allowing. The form of request includes the functions of begging, offering, and hoping. The form of invitation includes the functions of inviting, encouraging, persuading, supporting, urging, challenging, demanding, and targeting. The form of advice includes the functions of advising, recommending, suggesting, directing, urging, calling, and reminding. The form of criticism includes the functions of reprimanding, insinuating, condemning, and expressing anger. The form of prohibition includes the functions of forbidding and preventing. In conclusion, there are six forms of directive speech acts in the conversations of the film "Naga Naga Naga" by Deddy Mizwar: commands with 28 utterances, requests with 12 utterances, invitations with 21 utterances, advice with 38 utterances, criticism with 27 utterances, and prohibitions with 17 utterances. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis Canva terhadap pemahaman materi teks iklan pada siswa kelas VIII di SMPN 14 Kota Bengkulu. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian The Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan Canva sebagai media pembelajaran dan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan media pembelajaran konvensional, masing-masing terdiri dari 30 siswa yang dipilih secara acak. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes soal uraian yang dirancang untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi teks iklan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil di SMPN 14 Kota Bengkulu. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik Paired Sample T-Test, yang menghasilkan nilai t-hitung sebesar 0,005 dengan taraf signifikansi (???? < 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai 0,005 lebih kecil dari 0,05, sehingga H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis Canva memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi teks iklan. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi seperti Canva dapat menjadi alternatif efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menjawab rumusan masalah dan penelitian. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif melalui pendekatan fenomenologi dengansubyek penelitian yaitu anak usia 4-6 tahun ditk negeri Pembina 1 kota bengkulu kota Bengkulu. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh diperiksakeabsahan datanya dengan triangulasi sumber, metode dan waktu. Data dianalisisdengan teknik analisis data model interaktif Miles and Huberman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa:1) Pengembangan nilai agama dan moral di kota Bengkulu dengan pola asuh demokratis, dengan cara mengajarkan nilai kereligiusan, kemandirian,sopan santun, kemudian hal-hal yang baik melalui proses pembiasaan. 2) Faktor pendukung pengembangan nilai agama dan moral pada anak usia dini yaitu, (a) adanya peran guru mengaji yang memberikan motivasi pada anak, (b) perhatian orang tua dalam memberikan pembelajaran nilai agama dan moral pada anak. Sementara itu faktor penghambat pengembangan nilai agama dan moral pada anak usia dini adalah (a)kondisi lingkungan yang dapat memberikan pengaruh negatif kepada anak, baik itu dariperkataan, sikap, maupun cara berpakaian yang kurang baik dan sopan, (b)minimnya pemahaman orang tua terhadap pelajaran ke agamaan, (c) minimnya orang tua memberikan contoh kepada anak, dikarenakan waktu orang tua bersama anak sangat sedikit.
