Abstract

Desa Lamomea merupakan salah satu desa di Kecamatan Konda, KabupatenKonawe Selatan, berjarak sekitar ± 24,87 km dari Kota Kendari ibukota ProvinsiSulawesi Tenggara. Sebagian besar aktivitas ekonomi masyarakat berasal darikegiatan pertanian (sawah dan tanaman holtikultura) dan budidaya ikan (lelemmujair dan gurami). Salah satu permasalahan utama yang dihadapi masyarakat DesaLamomea yaitu terjadinya penurunan produktivitas lahan pertanian dan kegiatanbudidaya ikan. Hal ini disebabkan penggunaan pupuk dan pestisida serta sumberpakan ikan yang berasal dari produk sintetis (pestisida, herbisida dan pakan sintesis).Untuk keberlanjutan usaha ekonomi masyarakat pertaniandi wilayah tersebut,Pemerintah Desa Lamomea dalam RPJMdesa tahun 2012 telah memprogramkanpemanfaatan lahan untuk tanaman holtikultura dan budidaya ikan lele secaraorganik.  Tujuan kegiatan adalah untuk memperkenalkan sistem organik padakegiatan pertanian dan perikanan di Desa Lamomea. Pelaksanaan dilakukan padabulan Mei – Juli 2017. Aktivitas yang dilakukan   yaitu : (1) pembentukan kelompokpetani organik di Desa Lamomea; (2) pelatihan pembuatan pestisida organik. Hasilyang dicapai dalam kegiatan ini yaitu (1) terbentuknya tiga kelompok petani organik(Poktanik) masyarakat Desa Lamomea dan masing-masing kelompok berjumlahsepuluh orang; (2) kelompok masyarakat yang terbentuk telah memahami prosespembuatan dan manfaat pestisida organik. Rencana tahapan selanjutnya adalahpembuatan demplot sistem pertanian dan perikanan organik di Desa Lamomeasebagai sarana pembelajaran bersama bagi masyarakat yang ingin sistem organiksecara lebih baik.

Abstract

This paper describes a community empowerment program by implementing Internet of Things (IoT) Water Quality Monitoring technology to encourage innovation and increase productivity in shrimp cultivation. Collaboration between Muhammadiyah University of Kendari, Ahmad Dahlan University, and local farmers has resulted in the latest solution to optimize shrimp pond management. This empowerment involves a series of stages, from identifying water quality problems to implementing IoT monitoring infrastructure in the field. First, through intensive discussions, critical issues faced by farmers were identified. Based on these findings, the development team from Ahmad Dahlan University designed and implemented a solution in the form of IoT Water Quality Monitoring. Furthermore, the Muhammadiyah University of Kendari held intensive training and workshops to increase farmers' understanding of data interpretation and tool operation. The workshop lasted for three days, which successfully improved farmers' practical skills and increased optimism regarding increasing shrimp production. The final stage of this empowerment involves installing IoT Water Quality Monitoring infrastructure at identified shrimp farming locations. In conclusion, implementing this technology significantly positively impacts shrimp cultivation productivity and farmer welfare. Recommendations for further development and wider dissemination of information provide a basis for improving sustainability and efficiency in the local fisheries sector.

Abstract

Eksplorasi laut dalam, didorong oleh teknologi ROV dan AUV, memainkan peran utama dalam pemahaman dan pelestarian keanekaragaman hayati di bawah laut. Kemajuan ini memungkinkan peneliti untuk menyelidiki lingkungan yang sulit dijangkau, memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang kehidupan laut dan topografi dasar laut. Sementara eksplorasi ini terus berkembang, perlunya pendekatan etis dalam menjalankannya semakin terang. Dengan memanfaatkan data dan pemahaman yang diperoleh, eksplorasi laut dalam berpotensi mendukung perancangan kebijakan pelestarian dan pengelolaan sumber daya laut yang berkelanjutan, meningkatkan keberlanjutan lingkungan laut, dan memperkaya pengetahuan kita akan ekosistem laut yang kompleks.

Abstract

The issuance of the Measured Fishing Policy (PIT) has sparked controversy among fishing communities, particularly due to its mechanism, which is seen as granting greater opportunities for the fishing industry to exploit marine resources. In contrast, small-scale and traditional fishers are perceived to be at a disadvantage in the long run. This study aims to examine the perceptions of fisheries stakeholders regarding the implementation of PIT, with research conducted in Fisheries Management Area (WPP) 714, especially in Southeast Sulawesi. A mixed-methods approach was applied, combining primary data from Focus Group Discussions (FGD), questionnaires, and in-depth interviews, alongside secondary data sourced from scientific articles, research reports, online media, and other references. The analysis using fuzzy cognitive mapping indicates that the PIT policy is negatively associated with fishermen’s income, fish stock sustainability, conservation efforts, and community involvement. Furthermore, the study reveals stakeholder perspectives on seven key characteristics of measurable fishing policies, with the quota system emerging as the most prominent concern among fisheries practitioners and observers. In conclusion, the fuzzy cognitive mapping results highlight that PIT is largely perceived as having adverse impacts on small-scale fisheries.
