Abstract

The Sungsang area in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, has a nutrient-rich estuary ecosystem that supports aquatic biota such as fish, shrimp, and crabs. Residents mostly work as fishermen and process fishery products into value-added products, such as shrimp paste and crackers. However, shrimp shell waste is often neglected despite its high economic potential. Community service activities in Sungsang IV Village aim to increase environmental awareness and encourage innovation in the utilization of shrimp shell waste. The method of this community service activity is through socialization and training in producing powdered broth from shrimp shell waste. Through training, the community was given an understanding of sustainable waste management and the skills to process shrimp shell waste into economical powdered broth. As many as 80% of participants stated that they understood the material very well, and the program succeeded in reducing environmental pollution while increasing local income. With high enthusiasm, the program is relevant to the community's needs, providing positive economic, social, and ecological impacts.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the impact of core capital tier 1 (CCT), loan to deposit ratio (LDR), leverage ratio (LR), interconnection ratio (INR) and on stability financial that measured from credit growth rate (CGR) in Indonesia. Data in this study used secondary data with a time series of Jan 2012–Dec 2022 using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) method. The estimation results show that variables that have a significant relationship to financial stability in the short term are LDR and CCT variables. In long term results, there is a positive relationship between LDR and CGR. For a given level of risk, having more capital can in principle imply greater stability. Core Capital Tier 1 assess bank resilience to adverse economic situations and maintain the stability of the financial system.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of U.S. Quantitative Easing (QE), Interest Rate Spread, and Control of Corruption on Short-Term Debt in developing Asian countries. Using panel data from Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and China from 2000 to 2022, the analysis employs a Random Effect Model (REM) approach. The findings reveal that U.S. QE has a positive and significant impact, indicating that increased global liquidity encourages short-term borrowing in these economies. Conversely, Interest Rate Spread negatively affects short-term debt, suggesting that higher spreads reduce reliance on external short-term financing. Additionally, stronger Control of Corruption is associated with lower short-term debt levels, highlighting the role of governance in reducing financial vulnerabilities. These results underscore the importance of maintaining prudent monetary and fiscal policies to manage external debt risks. Policymakers should strengthen governance frameworks, ensure balanced interest rate policies, and develop strategies to mitigate risks from external financial shocks. By improving institutional quality and promoting long-term financing stability, developing Asian economies can enhance financial resilience and reduce excessive reliance on volatile short-term debt.

Abstract

Permasalahan lingkungan menjadi isu global dengan menumpuknya limbah masyarakat sebagai penyebab kerusakan lingkungan. Setiap hari, manusia menghasilkan limbah baik berbentuk padat, cair, maupun gas. Limbah organik mampu terurai tanpa campur tangan manusia, tetapi limbah anorganik seperti sampah plastik sulit terurai.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of Indonesia’s CPO exports and the effect of world CPO prices, rupiah exchange rate per US dollar and CPO production on the supply of CPO export in Indonesia from 1995-2020. The method that used in this research is Error Correction Model (ECM). The results of descriptive analysis are reflected: (a), the export volume of Indonesia’s CPO is very fluctuating in relation to the development of production variables, the value of the rupiah per US dollar and the world CPO export price; (b), the competitiveness of Indonesia’s CPO exports computed by the RCA Index reflects a relatively low competitiveness are less than one, but the trend has improved since 2012, where the RCA Index is greater than one. The regression results showed that, in the long-term, CPO production have a positive and significant impact on the CPO exports growth during the period, whereas in the short term the production have a negative and insignificant effect. The world price of CPO in the long and short-term prices have a negative and insignificant effect. The rupiah exchange rate per US dollars in the long term and short term have negative and significant effect. In the long term all independent variables have significant effect on the dependent variable, while in the short term all the variables have no significant effect on export volume variables.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the manufacturing sector in the economic development of Jambi Province during the period 2007–2024. The research addresses the uncertainty regarding whether the manufacturing sector functions as a base sector and evaluates the extent to which key economic factors contribute to its performance. Using the Location Quotient (LQ) and Dynamic Location Quotient (DLQ) methods, the study identifies the structural dynamics of the sector, while a log-linear regression model is employed to analyze the effects of investment, labor, and the number of business units on the sector’s GRDP. The results indicate that the manufacturing sector remained predominantly non-base throughout the period, with a temporary base status occurring between 2011 and 2020. Regression findings reveal that labor and the number of business units exert positive and significant effects on the manufacturing GRDP, whereas investment shows inconsistent impacts. On average, the manufacturing sector contributed 12.06 percent to Jambi’s total GRDP. These findings highlight the need for strengthened industrial policy strategies focused on enhancing labor capacity, expanding business unit development, and improving investment effectiveness to support regional economic diversification and resilience.
