Abstract

Red Pelawan (Tristaniopsis merguensis Griff.) Peter G. Wilson & J. T. Waterh is a member of the Myrtaceae family. This plant is widely spread in the forests of the Bangka Belitung Islands. This study aims to determine the success of Pelawan propagation by cuttings using a mixture of cocopeat, rice husk and rice husk charcoal as well as the application of synthetic and natural growth regulators (shallot extract). This study was designed using a factorial complete randomized design with the type of media and the type of growth regulator as the factors. Cutting material in the form of shoots, 6-10 cm in size, from a 2 - 4 years old pelawan tree in Pelawan Forest, Central Bangka. Synthetic hormones used the commercial brand Root-Up with a concentration of 15 g/10 ml, and natural hormones used shallot extract with a concentration of 200 g/300 ml of water. The results showed that the use of the two media did not have a significantly different effect, except for the percentage of surviving cuttings. Within 3 months of observation, the aplication of natural hormones, shallots, the cuttings which were able to root reached 4% with a root length of 16.5 mm, and to be sprouted as much as 2% with a shoot length of 5.5mm. Although the growth of cuttings treated with shallots was significantly lower than cuttings treated with synthetic hormones, the survival rate of cuttings reached 68% with shallot hormone treatment, indicating that shallots have the potential as an alternative natural hormone to stimulate the growth of T. merguensis cuttings.

Abstract

Abstract Tanah Karo, at the foot of Mount Sinabung, is known as a producer of Arabica coffee. Coffee harvests can still be increased in quantity and quality through good post-harvest handling. Farmers can use to produce quality coffee by providing counseling and training in post-harvest handling of coffee so that the products produced are of high quality and can increase farmers' income. Counseling and training were attended by 20 coffee farmers from Cinta Rakyat Village, and counseling materials were provided on the stages of post-harvest activities, including selecting ripe cherry fruit, processing it with a pulper, fermentation, and drying it. Then, continued training using a pulper to peel the skin and coffee fruit, soak in water, wash, and dry in the sun until the water content is 15% -16% to be stored before being sold. The results of the evaluation of training participants who felt very satisfied were 55% stated that they were satisfied by 45% and participants were able to understand the material given by 85%. Abstract

Taman Safari Indonesia (TSI), an ex-situ conservation institution in Puncak, Bogor, has developed the 4A framework to attract more tourists and enhance visitor satisfaction and loyalty, while increasing visits revenue. It has also raised the carbon footprint of tourist transportation. This study aims to analyze the vehicle emissions of tourists and their satisfaction with 4A components to predict the likelihood of repeat visits and the subsequent rise in carbon emissions. Emissions were calculated using the IPCC 2006 Guidelines (Tier 2), and the relationship between tourist satisfaction and loyalty was assessed using the structural equation model partial least squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results indicated that CO2 emissions from tourist vehicles during holidays reached 1,482,261.96 g.CO2/h, significantly higher than the 552,732.81 g.CO2/h recorded on weekdays. The analysis also revealed that tourist satisfaction and loyalty towards the 4A components significantly positively impacted the intention to revisit, as demonstrated by the T-statistics of 5.437 and P-values of 0.000, where the more satisfied the tourists are, the more loyal they are to return to TSI.
