Abstract

The link between learning materials and the surrounding known as scientific literacy is an important thing for educators to do today. Scientific literacy is needed and it continues to be developed, especially in developing teaching materials. This research is conducted to know the needs of prospective teachers for developing teaching materials on intermolecular interactions and its connection with the concept of an inkjet printer. This analysis used an interview worksheet and conceptual questions given to chemistry learning students to discover the correlation between the material and the relationship with the existing context. The outcomes of the worksheet data were constructed using descriptive qualitative methods. The results stated that 97% of students already knew and were familiar with inkjet printers, but only 49% understood how the cognition of intermolecular interaction material in the circumstance of inkjet printers. 83% of students stated that there was a relationship between chemical materials and inkjet printers, but only 11% understood how the interactions between ink and paper were related in terms of chemical bonds. Students also stated that 89% required the use of teaching materials that linked the concept of interactions between molecules and their relationship with the context of an inkjet printer. Therefore, according to the conclusion of this research, teaching material is going to be developed that can explain the connection between the concepts of molecular interaction and the context of an inkjet printer to the prospective chemistry teachers.

Abstract

Learning designing becomes an important part of the process to achieve learning objectives. Likewise, when teachers enhancestudents’ scientific literacy, the efforts must also be made from the learning design. The design of learning based on scientific literacy becomes very important when the orientation of science learning is not just to achieve cognitive aspects, but even more to the students' ability to apply science and have the attitude and ability to make decisions related to science in their lives. One important aspect in the design of learning based on scientific literacy is the relevance of the context of science to concepts or knowledge. For students inKepulauan Riau, the maritime context is very relevant to be discussed in the body of science. Through intensive training at SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang, biology and chemistry teachers were trained to design science literacy-based learning and maritime-based contexts. The learning design developed refers to the STL (science and technology literacy) approach which has 5 stages of learning, namely the contact stage, the elaboration stage (content), the curriculum stage, decision making, and the nexus stage. From the results of the mentoring by the training facilitator, 2 learning designs were produced (biology and chemistry subjects). The maritime context is integrated in the material Biodiversity (for Biology) and Petroleum (for Chemistry).

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi sains tidak hanya dibutuhkan oleh siswa, melainkan juga guru sebagai pengelola pembelajaran. Guru yang mampu mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis literasi sains, akan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains pada siswa. Oleh karena itu penting bagi guru mata pelajaran kimia untuk dapat mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis literasi. Program pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru mengembangkan bahan ajar kimia yang berbasis literasi sains. Guru dilatih untuk mengintegrasikan konteks kemaritiman kedalam salah satu materi kimia. Program ini diterapkan kepada 3 orang guru kimia di SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang. Metode pelatihan menggunakan model siklus Plan, Do, Check, dan Act. Kegiatan yang dilakukan selama 4 minggu. Hasil dari pelatihan adalah dihasilkannya bahan ajar berupa modul kimia materi asam basa kelas XI dengan konteks lingkungan hidup gonggong.

Dunia Pendidikan harus beradaptasi dengan kehidupan saat New Normal. Sekolah yang akan melaksanakan pembelajaran tatap muka harus mempersiapkan diri dengan baik. Jika pembelajaran tatap muka dilaksanakan maka protokol kesehatan 5M (Mencuci tangan, menjaga jarak, memakai masker, mengurangi mobilitas, dan menjauhi kerumunan) yang ketat harus dilaksanakan. Demi menyikapi hal ini perlu diadakan program edukasi Cuci Tangan Pakai Sabun (CTPS) dan penggunaan masker yang baik dan benar melalui Video Learning. Kegiatan Edukasi New Normal ini dilakukan di Lingkungan Sekolah SD Negeri 001 Teluk Sebong Kabupaten Bintan dengan peserta, berasal dari siswa, guru, kepala sekolah, dan penjaga sekolah. Kegiatan edukasi berjalan dengan lancar dan tanpa hambatan serta respons civitas sekolah yang antusias. Setelah kegiatan edukasi dilakukan, diperoleh hasil bahwa tingkat pemahaman tertinggi peserta kegiatan edukasi yaitu tentang protokol kesehatan 5M sebesar 94,95%.

Abstract

The development of Acid-Base electronic chemistry comic learning media for High School Students was developed to make it easier for students to learn chemistry subjects, especially Acid-Base materials. This study aimed to 1) Develop of Acid-Base Electronic Chemical Comic Learning Media for High School Students. 2) Find out the level of validity of the Acid-Base Electronic Chemical Comic Learning Media for High School Students, and 3) Find out the practicality of acid-base electronic chemical comic learning media for teacher and students Senior High School. This research was a research and development based on the Hanafin and Peck model which consists of three stages, namely needs analysis, design, and development and implementation. The results of analysis of the development of acid-base electronic chemical comic learning media for High School Students required the validity criteria with the results of the material expert test of 85% with a very valid category, the results of the media validity test getting a value of 78.57% with valid criteria. The results of the practicality test were obtained from the teacher's response of 88.6% with very practical criteria and 82.4% student response with very practical criteria. Based on the results of the study, it could be concluded that the develop of acid-base electronic chemical comic learning media for High School Students is valid and practical to use as learning media.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the practicality and effectiveness of educational game media using the Lectora Inspire application on chemical equilibrium. This study used research and development (R&D) methods, with the ADDIE research model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In this study only the Implementation and Evaluation stage was carried out. The test subjects in this study were 2 teachers and 20 students of class XI IPA 2 Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Tanjungpinang. The results of practicality tests using teacher questionnaire responses was 88% with the category of very practical and in terms of student responses, it was obtained a percentage of 84% with very practical criteria. In the aspect of effectiveness obtained learning outcomes with pretest and posttest scores N-Gain 0.5 results in the medium category. Based on the results of evaluations conducted by educative game media using the Lectora Inspire application on chemical equilibrium, it is declared practical, and effective for use.

Abstract

The most important achievement in learning science is students’ scientific literacy skills in processing and communicating phenomena in life into science concepts that have been studied at school. One approach that can foster scientific literacy skills is the approach to social issues in life in teaching materials in schools. This study aims (1) to analyze students’ needs for teaching materials; (2) to analyze students’ learning needs with the Socio Scientific Issues approach; and (3) to analyze students’ scientific literacy preconceptual abilities. The method used is descriptive quantitative, using a clinical interview guideline instrument, with research subjects consisting of 10 students. This study used a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis involves several steps, namely data reduction, categorization, validity check, interpretation, and inference. The results of this study indicate that 1) There were 50% of students stated that they were bored with existing teaching materials, 54% stated that they preferred teaching materials that could be read as well as heard, 70% preferred modules, and 70% were very interested in social issues related to reaction rates, 2) Very few students can identify the context correctly and can explain correctly, 3) There were 45% of students did not know, 26% doubtful, and 29% students who know the application of scientific social issues. This shows that it is important to develop electronic chemistry modules based on socio-scientific issues to improve scientific literacy skills.

Abstract

Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) ini bertujuan untuk pembinaan guru dalam peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran secara kolaboratif, dengan tahapan plan, do dan see Kegiatan ini dilakukan oleh Tim PKM PPG FKIP UMRAH. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada tanggal 01 dan 02 Agustus 2024 dengan model pelatihan dan pendampingan. Adapun judul kegiatan ini adalah Implementasi Lesson Study For Learning Community (LSLC) untuk Meningkatkan Kualitas Pembelajaran di SMP Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang. Peserta pada kegiatan ini adalah guru-guru di SMP Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang sebanyak 25 orang. Adapun hasil yang diperoleh dari pelatihan ini, yaitu: 1) hasil pre test sebelum diberikan pelatihan yaitu 58,4% dengan kategori baik.; 2) post test yaitu 92, 4 dengan kategori sangat baik. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini, yaitu 1) pelaksanaan kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh Tim PPG FKIP UMRAH dapat dikatakan berhasil; 2) Para guru SMP Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang memiliki semangat kolaborasi yang baik untuk pengembangan diri dan peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran; dan 3) aktivitas observasi guru berjalan lancar dan guru sangat berantusias untuk menghadiri guru model melakukan pembelajaran dan saling memberikan masukan

Abstract

Collaborative skills of students in the lecture process are still not optimal, whereas collaboration skills are the main skills that must be possessed by students in an effort to become quality individuals. This study aims to analyze the collaboration skills of students of the Biology Education undergraduate study program using the team-based project model. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The subjects in the study were 40 first-semester Biology Education undergraduate students using the total sampling technique. The data collection method used was by distributing a collaboration skills questionnaire via googleforms. The questionnaire distributed contained 9 aspects of collaboration skills. The results of this study are the average percentage of skill indicators including, 1) positive collaboration interdependence of 87.80%; 2) face-to-face interaction of 69.37%; 3) personal responsibility of 88.75%; 4) communication skills of 90.62%; and 5) group work skills of 85.62%. So overall the collaboration skills of students who apply the team-based project model are included in the very good category.
