Abstract

Background: This study discusses the resilience of parents who care for children with cancer. Without realizing it, parents as caregivers have a crucial role to accompany their children during the treatment process. Furthermore, against the background of psychological and social challenges, parents also endure a decrease in quality of life and disruption of family functioning. Methods: In contrast to previous studies, this study used a literature review method to integrate concepts regarding resilience factors, resilience processes, and resilience functions. In contrast to previous studies, this study used a literature review method to integrate concepts regarding resilience factors, resilience processes, and resilience functions. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, this study reviewed seven previous studies using the case study review method. Findings: There are different types of pediatric cancers and their treatment which leads to differences in resilience factors and processes among parents. These differences in resilience factors and processes resulted in different resilience functions achieved by the parents. Conclusion: Resilience factors are components that contribute to parents' resilience, while resilience functions are outcomes or benefits obtained after parents apply a series of resilience processes. Novelty/Originality of this article: In contrast to previous studies that emphasize individual psychological factors, this study offers a comprehensive perspective by integrating resilience factors, resilience processes, and resilience functions in the context of parents facing childhood cancer.

Abstract

Background: The number of HIV/AIDS children in Indonesia is rising, impacting their low quality of life. World Health Organization Quality of Life-100 (WHOQOL-100) is necessary to assess their life perceptions. Improving their quality of life requires a lifespan perspective to understand their development. This study aims to describe HIV/AIDS children's quality of life using WHOQOL- 100 and how it aligns with their developmental stages. Methods: This study employs a literature review method, as defined by Knopf (2006), to synthesize existing research on the quality of life of children with HIV/AIDS. It follows Neuman’s (2014) process of identifying, filtering, and analyzing relevant studies using WHOQOL-100 as a framework. The review focuses on journals from 2014-2024, selecting studies that involve children under 21, to draw broad conclusions and identify gaps in research. Findings: The findings reveal that children with HIV/AIDS have issues such as pain, poor nutrition, sleep problems, cognitive issues, low self-esteem, and caregiver burden. Early ART treatment, strategies against social stigma, good financial management, adequate healthcare access, and spiritual support are crucial for the children with HIV/AIDS. Inadequate caregiving, financial oversight, mismatched spiritual support, social stigma, and health issues hinder their development. Conclusion: Social support from caregivers and government health services play a crucial role in improving the quality of life for children with HIV/AIDS. However, not all children meet their developmental stages, highlighting the need for caregiver support, peer interactions, and consistent health services. Novelty/Originality of this Study: This study offers a unique perspective on the quality of life of HIV/AIDS-affected children in Indonesia by utilizing the WHOQOL-100 to explore how developmental stages influence their well-being, highlighting the importance of early treatment, caregiver support, and addressing social stigma in enhancing their quality of life.

Abstract

Background: The number of women workers in Indonesia has increased steadily from 2020 to 2024. Women have reproductive roles and are entitled to rights in the workplace, including maternity leave, miscarriage leave, menstrual leave, and breastfeeding breaks. However, these rights are sometimes not provided according to Indonesian Law Number 13 of 2003 on Manpower. Maternity rights are crucial for women’s well-being and should be granted in line with applicable laws. Methods: The research method used in this journal is a literature review in the form of case studies. Seven case journals in Indonesia were used as the primary references for this study. The research was conducted without comparing the main reference journals. Findings: The study found that women workers, both formal and informal, are employed across various sectors in Indonesia. Social protection guarantees for women, such as social insurance and employer obligations, exist but are not consistently implemented. Some companies cooperate with BPJS Employment, while others provide maternity, miscarriage, menstrual leave, and breastfeeding breaks. However, the lack of proper supervision by the government and labor unions has led to insufficient implementation of these protections, hindering the improvement of women’s welfare. Conclusion: Social protection for women workers must be fulfilled by employers to ensure that women workers can still exercise their reproductive rights. Providing social protection in accordance with applicable regulations for women workers can enhance the social welfare of women workers. Novelty/Originality of this Study: This study offers a unique perspective on the challenges in implementing social protection for women workers in Indonesia, highlighting gaps in supervision and enforcement, as well as the importance of fulfilling reproductive rights to improve women’s well-being.

Abstract

In Indonesia, several types of HSOs include government organizations, private organizations, and non-profit organizations. Strategic planning is crucial for HSOs as it helps them to map their direction and goals, manage their resources, identify opportunities and challenges, coordinate their activities, and measure and evaluate their performance. To assist in strategic planning, various mapping models can be used. One of the models that can be used is Scenario- Based Road Mapping (SBRM). This research is a literature review that discusses different strategic planning models for HSOs, which can help organizations formulate more effective and adaptive strategies. These models can help HSOs better understand how strategic planning models such as SBRM, Balanced Scorecard, and ERM can be applied in an organizational context. This research aims to examine these various models, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and provide deeper insights into strategic planning models in HSO. Strategic planning is a crucial aspect of HSO safety and survival, and with a better understanding of various mapping models, organizations can better meet challenges and achieve their goals. It is important for HSOs to recognize the significance of good strategic planning. Therefore, strategic planning must be carried out by professional individuals who have a deep understanding of strategic design creation and sensitivity to changes and threats.

Abstract

HIV-infected children have a longer life expectancy after the invention of antiretroviral treatment. Therefore, a well-prepared HIV status disclosure become a significant issue for children living with HIV/AIDS (CLWHA). Previous studies have shown that disclosing a status of children with chronic illness helps them to cope with the illness. However, delayed disclosure for various reasons which often influenced by parents or caregivers consideration affect children’s psychosocial condition. This paper will illustrate the psychosocial condition of CLWHA in relation to the preparation of their disclosure process. This descriptive study used a qualitative approach with observations, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussion on CLWHA and their parents/caregivers.Not all disclosed CLWHA has a good psychosocial function. The disclosure are affected by the process and the disclosure level. A HIV disclosed child of HIV positive parents has better psychosocial conditions than a child whose disclose are prepared by a pediatrician or than those who partially disclosed by themselves.Disclosing HIV/AIDS status has significantly affected the psychosocial condition of CLWHA. Therefore, it needs to be carefully well planned and well prepared by taking into account the condition of ADHAs and their caregivers to avoid involuntary disclosure. The government needs to formulate policies on disclosure process for CLWHA to maintain the psychosocial condition of the children so that their quality of life can be better increased.

Abstract

Abstract. In Indonesia, the HIV-AIDS case is one of the sensitive issues in which the spread of this case continues to increase every year. The problems of people living with HIV-AIDS (PLWHA) consist of physical dimensions, economic dimensions, and social dimensions. A potential intervention model that can be done to help break the vicious circle for PLWHA sufferers is economic empowerment. So it is necessary to support microeconomic finance in carrying out conventional financial practices which can later have implications for health and economic success for PLWHA through collaboration. PLWHA faces conditions of disadvantage in the form of stigma, physical decline, and economic problems. For this reason, it is necessary to have an appropriate coping strategy from PLWHA in the form of empowering micro-business economies. The implementation of economic empowerment needs to require a good support system in the form of collaboration in which the family, government, and NGOs help carry out economic empowerment. The research method used is a literature review. The journal criteria that have been selected by researchers in this study discuss PLWHA, the existence of similarities in research in the form of coping strategies for economic empowerment, as well as being relevant and accredited. The results of the analysis identified PLWHA in overcoming the economic problems they face can be assisted through a coping strategy that focuses on problems (problem-focused coping) by involving collaborators in overcoming these problems through economic empowerment.
