Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penggunaan model turbulensi Detached Eddy Simulation Spallart-Almaras (DES-SA) pada studi numerik tentang sistem pendinginan trailing edge (TE) pada sudu turbin gas. Sebuah desain TE cutback cooling dengan susunan staggered pin-fin dipilih sebagai spesimen pengujian berbasis simulasi. Tiga parameter penting seperti discharge coefficient (CD), adiabatic film cooling effectiveness (ηaw), dan shedding frequency (fs) menjadi fokus utama dalam penyelidikan kinerja sistem pendinginan TE sudu turbin gas. Penelitian dilakukan pada variasi tiga blowing ratios (M) yaitu 0,5; 0,8; dan 1,1. Hasil riset menunjukkan bahwa nilai CD yang diperoleh dari hasil simulasi memiliki kesesuaian trend jika dibandingkan dengan data peneliti terdahulu, dimana nilai CD sedikit meningkat seiring dengan M yang semakin besar. Penyelidikan terkait ηaw yang terjadi pada permukaan adiabatic wall menunjukkan bahwa nilainya konsisten dengan data penelitian yang terdahulu, baik secara eksperimen maupun simulasi. Frekuensi aliran vorteks (fs) berturut-turut 2043, 2323, dan 1976 Hz untuk masing-masing blowing ratios  0,5; 0,8; dan 1,1.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the trailing-edge (TE) cooling system in a gas turbine blade. Eddy Simulation (DES), based on the turbulence model of Spallart-Almaras (SA), was used to simulate the TE cooling system. A TE configuration with a five-row staggered pin-fin arrangement was employed as a computational domain. Three parameters, i.e., the coefficient of heat transfer on the pin-fins surface (hpin), the coefficient of discharge (CD), and the effectiveness of adiabatic film cooling were used to assess the performances. The findings denoted that the heat transfer fluctuations occurred on the surface of the pin-fins in each row. The discharge coefficient increased with the rising of the blowing ratio. The trend predicted data of effectiveness were in good agreement with realistic discrepancies compared to other researches, mainly for higher blowing ratio. The average effectiveness along the cut-off region was to be sensitive to the changes of the blowing ratio, which was attributed to the structures of turbulent flow along the mixing region.

Abstract

This numerical study aims to investigate the performance of car air-conditioning (AC) cooling of cabin car. The research was done in the two-step. The first step is to collect data by experiment study. Numerical study of performance car air-conditioning is the second step. Detached Eddy Simulation k-epsilon (DES k-ε) turbulence model was utilized in the study. A cabin car design was used as a specimen study. Two key parameters, i.e. temperature distribution, and air cooling speed, were used to assess the AC cooling performance compared with experimental data. Two types of mesh (mesh A and B) with different smooth was utilized. The results showed that mesh B gave good agreement with experimental data with a discrepancy of 0.14%, and 0.27% with mesh A. Air cooling distribution at three measured positions are 0.47; 0.08; and 0.04 m/s, respectively.

Abstract

The concept of clean and renewable energy is currently a focus developed continuously. One of the abundant sources of clean and renewable energy is water. A water turbine is a mechanism to generate electrical energy by utilizing the water flow. Pico or nano hydro turbines produce electrical energy by taking advantage of the flow of water that rotates the shaft of the electric generator. This experimental study aims to analyze the effect of differences in the number of blades on a Horizontal axis drag-type Savonius turbine mounted of water flow in a vertical pipe. The variations of blades number used in the study are 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12. The potential energy of the water is kept constant with a constant head of 2 meters. Four main parameters used as a benchmark for the performance of water turbines are rotor rotation, voltage, current and electrical power generated. The results showed that the rotor rotation, voltage, current, and generated electrical power decreased as the number of blades used increased. The water turbine of 3 blades produces the best performance compared to the other one. The magnitude of the rotor rotation, voltage, current, and electrical power generated is 846 rpm, 15.28 volts, 0.61 amperes, and 9.38 Watts, respectively.

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru SMK khususnya dalam bidang desain menggunakan software Solidworks. Guru yang merupakan subjek utama dalam transfer pengetahuan ini harus memiliki kompetensi yang memadahi, sehingga ilmu yang ditransfer kepada para siswa dapat dimengerti dengan baik. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan mengingat adanya tuntutan perkembangan zaman dalam bidang desain, di mana desain saat ini diharapkan mampu dikerjakan secara efisien, hasil yang akurat, dan mampu dilakukan perbaikan dalam waktu singkat jika terjadi kesalahan. Metode pelatihan dengan cara para peserta mengikuti langkah-langkah tutorial dari instruktur. Materi pelatihan dirangkum dalam modul pelatihan yang diberikan kepada setiap peserta serta diakhir sesi, semua peserta wajib mengisi form post-test yang telah disediakan. Hasil dari pelatihan dan analisis terhadap jawaban post-test peserta didapatkan bahwa kemampuan para peserta dalam menggunakan Solidworks meningkat sebesar 33%. Pelatihan ini juga sangat bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan kompetensi/kemampuan para guru SMK khususnya di bidang desain menggunakan software SolidWorks serta diharapkan kompetensi yang sudah diperoleh dapat ditransfer ke para siswanya.

Abstract

Teknologi 3D printing termasuk dalam metode manufaktu rbaru yang disebut dengan metode additive manufacturing. Metode ini mempunyai cara kerja menumpuk material untuk membuat sebuah objek 3 dimensi. Penelitian dalam bidang desain dan assembly mesin 3D printer masih belum banya kdilakukan. Pada umumnya, mesin-mesin 3D printer yang digunakan memiliki paling tidak 5 motor stepper, yaitu sumbu X 1 buah, sumbu Y 1 buah, sumbu Z 2 buah serta motor ekstruder 1 buah. Paper ini akan membahas mengenai alternative desain mesin 3D printer FFF dengan model cantilever yang menggunakan 4 motor stepper sehingga lebih hemat komponen. Proses desain dan assembly 3D printer tipe cantilever menghasilkan mesin dengan area kerja 200 x 200 x 200 mm dan ketelitian 0,1 mm. Mesin 3D printer yang didesain memiliki komponen utama berupa komponen mekanik dan elektrik. Komponen mekanik terdiri dari frame, linear guide, bracket, leadscrew, pulley dan timing belt. Komponen elektrik terdiri dari controller, lcd, motor stepper, limit switch, soket serta power supply. Dengan meminimalisir jumlah motor stepper yang digunakan, maka desain 3D printer tipe cantilever dinilai lebih ekonomis dengan desain yang minimalis. Mesin seperti ini cocok digunakan untuk kegiatan-kegiatan yang bersifat mobile. 3D printer ini kedepan akan dimanfaatkan untuk melakukan pelatihan kepada masyarakat untuk memperkenalkan teknologi manufaktur baru, yaitu proses cetak 3 dimensi.

Abstract

Kebijakan pemerintah melaui Kemeterian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan senantiasa berupa untuk meningkatkan mutu pendidikan di sekolah kejuruan melaui program SMK Pusat Keunggulan. Untuk mendukung hal ini perlu upaya peningkatan kompetensi guru mata pelajaran. Dari diskusi dengan beberapa sekolah bahwa tidak semua sekolah memiliki guru dengan kompetensi bidang desain. Selaran dengan hal ini, telah dilakukan pelatihan kompetensi guru sekolah kejuruan dalam hal desain bidang keteknikan dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak Solidworks. Metode pelatihan dilakukan secara tatap muka dalam suatu kelas sehingga peserta bisa langsung praktek dengan didampingi oleh instruktur yang kompeten. Untuk mengukur ketercapaian hasil pelatihan, dilakukan pengukuran kompetensi guru di awal dan akhir pelatihan. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh peserta mencapai ketuntasan belajar (ketuntasan 100%) dengan rata-rata ketercapain materi sebesar 88,9%.

Abstract

MI (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) Nurul Huda represents a formal educational institution situated in Pulutan Village, Nogosari District, Boyolali Regency. The institution offers a comprehensive curriculum encompassing general education and Islamic religious studies. Notably, the school includes science as one of its core subjects. Through interviews with stakeholders, particularly Mrs. Basuki, it has been identified that the current challenge faced by the school is the effective dissemination of science knowledge to students. This predicament arises from the limited availability of science teaching aids, hindering the practical delivery of educational material. The primary objective of this Community Service Program (PKM) is to facilitate the distribution and training in the utilization of light-reflecting props at MI Nurul Huda. The initiative aims to address the aforementioned challenge by providing teachers with valuable tools to enhance the practicality of material delivery, with a specific focus on the topic of light reflection. It is anticipated that the incorporation of these teaching aids will not only assist educators in conveying scientific concepts effectively but will also contribute to a more accessible learning experience for the students

Abstract

The world's energy sources have undergone several changes, from initially mostly using biomass to fossil fuels, which was triggered by the Industrial Revolution in the 1900s. The increasing use of fossil energy causes an increase in greenhouse gas emissions. One alternative that can be done is the use of solar power plants. An example of its use is in fulfilling electrical energy, such as lighting, by using electrical energy that still uses a small amount of power. Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi “Warga” Surakarta of Indonesia, together with UC TATI Malaysia, collaborated in the use of solar-based renewable energy, which was implemented in Segorogunung Village, Ngargoyoso District, Karanganyar Regency. Several points at this location still have minimal lighting, making them prone to accidents and crime. The method used in this community service activity is providing knowledge about solar cells, solar cell wiring diagrams, and how to check and repair solar-based public street lighting. The results obtained from this community service show that the community understands and can install and repair solar cell-based public street lighting. In conclusion, the presence of public road lighting on several roads in Segorogunung Village can reduce the accident rate and provide a sense of security for the community when crossing the road.
