This study was motivated by the students' lack of interest in literacy at the Sanggar Bimbingan (SB) At-Tanzil Lembah Jaya in Selangor, Malaysia. Preliminary observations revealed that teachers had attempted various methods to stimulate student interest in literacy, such as creating reading corners, conducting ice-breaking activities at the start of lessons, utilizing audiovisual media, and fostering a fun, interactive learning atmosphere. The study aimed to examine the teachers' strategies for boosting student literacy interest and the outcomes of these strategies, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors encountered during the process. This research adopted a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed through the stages of data collection, data presentation, and drawing final conclusions. The findings indicate that the teachers' strategies to stimulate literacy interest included storytelling, the use of audiovisual media, interactive discussions, the provision of reading corners, ice-breaking activities, and various creative activities that fostered active student participation. Implementing these strategies successfully enhanced student enthusiasm, learning concentration, and the confidence to express opinions, as well as improving their reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. Factors supporting this success included the use of Islamic nasyid (vocal music) to create an enjoyable learning atmosphere and collaboration with parents to support the children's learning at home. Conversely, inhibiting factors included limited learning facilities and equipment, cramped learning spaces, a lack of adequate literacy resources, and an insufficient number of teachers relative to the student population. Therefore, support from various stakeholders is required to improve facilities and educational resources, ensuring that the literacy program at SB At-Tanzil Lembah Jaya can be implemented effectively and sustainably.
