Abstract

The plantation sector, particularly the rubber commodity, is one of the main sources of income for the people of Kuang Dalam Barat Village, Rambang Kuang Sub-district, Ogan Ilir Regency. The selling price of rubber received by farmers greatly determines their welfare, yet the price-setting process often raises questions regarding its fairness, given the relatively weaker bargaining position of farmers compared to collectors. This study aims to identify the mechanism of rubber price-setting in Kuang Dalam Barat Village, analyze its conformity with Ibn Taymiyyah's thought, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in this practice. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with rubber farmers and collectors, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, with validity tested through source, technique, and time triangulation. The results show that the rubber price-setting mechanism proceeds through tapping and collecting the produce, selling to collectors, quality inspection, open weighing, and price determination referring to the factory reference price and rubber quality, followed by cash payment. Viewed from Ibn Taymiyyah's thought, this practice generally reflects the principles of justice ('adl), honesty (shiddiq), mutual consent (an-taradhin), transparency, and balance of rights and obligations, as prices are formed naturally through market mechanisms without indications of fraud (tadlis), hoarding (ihtikar), or price manipulation. The supporting factors are transparency in weighing and the long-established trust relationship between farmers and collectors, while the inhibiting factors are price dependence on the factory reference, rubber quality, and fluctuations in demand and market conditions beyond the control of either party.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of Islamic business ethics at Raja Kebab Magetan, a local kebab culinary business, analyze its influence on consumer loyalty, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The kebab business in Indonesia has grown rapidly, yet ethical practice in daily operations still shows a gap between expected principles and actual implementation, particularly among micro-scale culinary businesses that remain underexplored in prior research. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, conducted at Kedai Raja Kebab, Parang Village, Magetan Regency. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews with the owner, employees, and consumers, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation, confirmability, transferability, and dependability. The results show that Raja Kebab Magetan has implemented five principles of Islamic business ethics shiddiq (honesty), amanah (trustworthiness), ‘adl (justice), ihsan (excellence), and halal wa tayyib reflected in transparent product presentation, fair portioning, open pricing, quality raw materials, employee welfare, and friendly service. The application of these values positively contributes to three indicators of consumer loyalty: repurchase intention, positive recommendation, and long-term commitment. Supporting factors include consistent taste quality, good and polite service, and openness to feedback, while inhibiting factors include intense culinary business competition and limited product innovation. This study offers empirical contribution to Islamic business ethics studies in the micro-scale culinary sector, a segment less explored compared to larger, more formal businesses.

Abstract

Accurate Qur'anic recitation according to tajwid rules remains difficult for many Muslim university students, who enter pesantren programs with markedly uneven reading backgrounds. This study analyzes how the talaqqi method direct teacher student interaction through reading, imitation, memorization, and immediate correction is implemented in Qur'anic instruction, evaluates its effect on students' recitation and memorization competence, and identifies the factors that support and hinder its application at Pesantren Mahasiswa Telaga Ilmu Ponorogo. Employing a descriptive qualitative design, the study gathered data through observation, in depth interviews, and documentation involving caregivers, teachers, and students, analyzed via reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, and validated through source and technique triangulation. Results indicate that talaqqi proceeds through teacher-led recitation immediately imitated by students until correctness is confirmed, reinforced by face-to-face correction, memorization deposits, and periodic review, a cycle that measurably strengthens articulation accuracy, tajwid mastery, and memorization retention; progress is driven chiefly by teacher competence, student motivation, and a supportive pesantren environment, while lecture-schedule time constraints and inconsistent review discipline remain the main obstacles. These findings confirm that structured, correction-based oral transmission is a decisive mechanism for cultivating durable Qur'anic literacy among learners with heterogeneous prior ability.

Abstract

Lecture dominated Fiqh instruction on prayer (sholat) at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah leaves students disengaged and struggling to memorize recitations and grasp movement sequences, resulting in learning outcomes below the established achievement criteria. This study describes the implementation of the Flash Card method and examines its effectiveness in improving Fiqh learning outcomes on prayer material among second-grade students. Using a qualitative Classroom Action Research design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, the study spanned two cycles involving 14 second-grade students at MI Muhammadiyah, Madiun City, with data collected through observation, achievement tests, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively across cycles. The Flash Card method notably increased student engagement, alongside consistent improvement in recitation memorization, movement-sequence comprehension, and recognition of prayer pillars from the first to the second cycle. Classical learning completeness was achieved in the second cycle, with most students meeting the required criteria. These findings position the Flash Card method as an effective alternative strategy for teaching Fiqh at the elementary madrasah level, fostering more active, engaging, and meaningful learning.
