Abstract

This research is important because high school students face academic and social pressures that require self-management skills in learning and developing positive behaviors. In these conditions, friendships become an important factor influencing learning motivation, emotional support, and students' ability to face various challenges in the school environment. This study aims to understand how the meaning of friendship influences self-regulated learning abilities and positive behaviors of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Ponorogo. This study uses a qualitative phenomenological approach. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique, consisting of five eleventh-grade students, one guidance counselor, and one homeroom teacher. Data collection techniques were carried out through semi-structured in-depth interviews, limited observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the processes of transcription, data reduction, coding, grouping themes, and interpretation of meaning. The results show that students interpret friendships as a source of emotional and academic support that helps them cope with learning pressures and personal problems. Healthy friendships provide a sense of comfort, togetherness, and mutual trust that contribute to the formation of positive behaviors and self-regulated learning abilities. Thus, positive friendship relationships have an important role in developing self-regulated learning and positive behavior of students at SMA Negeri 2 Ponorogo.

Abstract

The quality of Qur’anic memorization in tahfiz education depends not only on the amount of memorized material but also on pronunciation accuracy, tajwid, fluency, and the ability to maintain memorization over time. In this context, the talaqqi method provides direct interaction between teacher and student through guided recitation, memorization submission, correction, and continuous review. This study aims to describe the implementation of the talaqqi method, analyze its contribution to the quality of students Qur’anic memorization, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors at Al-Muslimun Putri Islamic Boarding School in Magetan. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that talaqqi is implemented routinely through teacher modelling, student imitation, individual memorization submission, direct correction, and structured muraja’ah. The method improves makhraj accuracy, tajwid application, memorization fluency, and long-term retention, although fatigue, limited confidence, unequal basic reading abilities, and reduced intensity at certain educational levels remain challenges. These findings indicate that talaqqi is most effective when supported by competent teachers, a conducive pesantren environment, and sustained muraja’ah.

Abstract

Accurate Qur'anic recitation according to tajwid rules remains difficult for many Muslim university students, who enter pesantren programs with markedly uneven reading backgrounds. This study analyzes how the talaqqi method direct teacher student interaction through reading, imitation, memorization, and immediate correction is implemented in Qur'anic instruction, evaluates its effect on students' recitation and memorization competence, and identifies the factors that support and hinder its application at Pesantren Mahasiswa Telaga Ilmu Ponorogo. Employing a descriptive qualitative design, the study gathered data through observation, in depth interviews, and documentation involving caregivers, teachers, and students, analyzed via reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, and validated through source and technique triangulation. Results indicate that talaqqi proceeds through teacher-led recitation immediately imitated by students until correctness is confirmed, reinforced by face-to-face correction, memorization deposits, and periodic review, a cycle that measurably strengthens articulation accuracy, tajwid mastery, and memorization retention; progress is driven chiefly by teacher competence, student motivation, and a supportive pesantren environment, while lecture-schedule time constraints and inconsistent review discipline remain the main obstacles. These findings confirm that structured, correction-based oral transmission is a decisive mechanism for cultivating durable Qur'anic literacy among learners with heterogeneous prior ability.
