Abstract

Dayak Simpakng community, which is located in Semandang Kanan Village, Simpang Dua District, Ketapang Regency, is a Dayak community that still preserves ancestral culture for generations. One of their cultures is still utilizing the animals around them as mystical. The purpose of this study is to obtain data of animals species that are used as mystics, the parts used and the meaning of these animals. The method used in this study is a survey method, the selection of respondents was carried out using snowball sampling techniques. Based on the results of interviews with 25 selected respondents obtained 23 species of animals from 19 families which used as a mystic by the Dayak Simpakng community. Some parts that are used as mystical that is the sound, foot in animals and all the body.Keywords: Dayak Simpakng, Ethnozoology, Mystical Animal.

Abstract

Avifauna in its habitat decereasing by many factor such as land clearing which cause avifauna becomes endangered,moreover illegal hunting dangering population of avifauna in its own habitat,and furthermore factors which may cause deleterious of nature. The aims of this research is to collect the data of diurnal avifauna diversity in the ex-fire areas in Rasau Jaya Umum village Kubu Raya regency. This research is use point count methode that used ex-fire areas and un-fire areas, in the morning, noon and afternoon with 3 times repeatly of each location. The results showed that observation of avifauna ex-fire areas in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and un-fire areas found 20 species from 16 families with a total of 160 individuals. Dominance value of five location possess average value of C close 0, so that indicates there is no species dominates another species,which mean function of avifauna species which had discovered in that location is even and stable. Diversity index avifauna species which discoverd from five location has shown average criteria avifauna species differ from each location depends on environtment condition.eveness index of ex burnt land from 2014, 2016 and 2017 consist eveness value and its abundance had categorized by unstable community or not even. Encounter degree of avifauna which categorized of five location, had shown avifauna from Hirundo rustica, Lonchura malacca and Collocalia esculenta high rate of encounter degree its species because enviromental condition which helps avifauna for its reproduction, feeding ground and nesting, avifauna eveness index found un-fire (TT) and ex-fire areas in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, have 3 criteria,which is low (TT-2017 and TT-2018)  average TT-2014, TT-2016, 2014-2018 and 2016-2018) and high (2014-2016, 2014-2017, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018).Keywords : Avifauna, Species diversity, Ex- burn forest.

Abstract

Humans couldn’t be separated from the use of various biological resources. Resources for the utilization of fauna used for food, medicine, traditional ceremonies, mistycal and art. One of the indigenous ethnic found in the West Kalimantan province is the Dayak Sebaruk in Setunggul Village. The Dayak Sebaruk people also has diversity in ultilization for foods, medicine, traditional ceremonies, mistycal and art. This research objective is expected to provide information about the local knowledge of Etnozoology such as to obtain the animal species and the animal ultilization by Dayak Sebaruk Community in Setunggul Village, Silat Hilir District, Kapuas Hulu Regency. The method used a survey, the selection of respondent were choosing by snowball sampling technique and data collecting used questionnaire. This research were obtained 15 male respondent. The result of the research reaveling there are 10 species of animal ultilization for medecine. Body parts that are ultilized for medicine are the whole body, bile, bounce, bones, fat, reed, fins,blood, honey and thorns.How to processing with dried, poured boling water, burned, fried fat, take blood and honey. Abstract

Mangrove forests are unique ecosystems that have ecological, biological and socio-economic functions. The function of mangrove forests on the environment is very important especially in the coastal and oceanic regions. Mangrove forests providers of wood, leaves as raw material for medicines, and natural dye. This study aims to inventory the diversity of species of mangrove vegetation in Mendalok Village, Sungai Kunyit Subdistrict, Mempawah Regency. The benefits of this study are to provide the data on mangrove forest vegetation as basic data for local government and related agencies in efforts to protect and preserve mangrove forests in Mendalok Village, Sungai Kunyit Subdistrict, Mempawah Regency. Inventory the tree in mangrove forest used a line with measured 200 meters. There are 6 lines and the distance between the lines as far as 100 meters. The lines of observation are placed by purposive sampling. The results of research found 11 types of species and consisted of 6 genera. The genera are Avicennia, Bruguiera, Ceriops, Rhizophora, Soneratia and Xylocarpus. The species found were Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina, Bruguiera cylindrica, Bruguiera gymnorrhiza, Bruguiera parviflora, Ceriops decandra, Rhizophora apiculata, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora stylosa, Sonneratia caseolaris, Xylocarpus mollucensis. Diversity of mangrove species in Mendalok Village, Sungai Kunyit Subdistrict, Mempawah Regency was high and should be maintained for conservation and ecotourism area. Abstract

The diversity of ant species is one of the links in ecosystem stability as decomposing insects as well as food sources so that its existence becomes very ecologically important. Information about the types of ants found in the urban forest of Ketapang Regency is not yet available, therefore the problem of this research is how the diversity of ant species (Formicidae) in the urban forest of Ketapang Regency. This study aims to document the richness and diversity of ant species in the urban forest of Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan. The method used was purposive sampling and systematic where the placement of traps was carried out according to the presence of ants in terrestrial and arboreal types in secondary forest habitats. Based on the results of research in the urban forest of Ketapang Regency, which was carried out in two types, namely terrestrial type and arboreal type, 10 species of 5 sub-families were found. Sub-families and types of ants found include: Dolichoderinae (Dolichoderus burmanicus, Dolichoderus taprobanae ceramensis), Formicinae (Aphomomyrmex afer, Polirachis browni, Prenolepis fisheri, Chepalotes femoral), Myrmicinae (Crematogester yameni, Crematogester indet), Ponerinae (Odontomachus haematodus), Pseudomyrmecinae (Tetraponera attenuata). The species diversity index (H') in terrestrial type secondary forest habitat (H'= 0.62) and arboreal type (H'= 0.81), the results of the two types in the secondary forest can be concluded that it is still relatively low.Keywords: Ants, Secondary forest habitat, Species diversity

Abstract

This research is motivated by the high cases of illegal trade of protected wildlife in West Kalimantan Province. Animal trade tends to be endangered and included in the endangered list. Actions of animal trade that still occur in West Kalimantan Province indicate the low level of law enforcement and weak supervision by related parties in combating cases of protected animal trade. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors causing the occurrence of illegal trade crimes against protected animals in the West Kalimantan region, and analyze the performance of stakeholders in law enforcement against the illegal trade of protected animals in the West Kalimantan region based on their role and authority. This study uses a survey method that is guided by a questionnaire. The selection of respondents by purposive sampling, data analysis using policy analysis then the data is descriptive with tabulation. The results of the study show that in the period of 2016-2019 there were 49 cases of illegal wildlife trade in West Kalimantan Province, the traded animals are species belonging to protected animals and classified in the Appendix I. category. The dominant protected species traded in the 2016-2019 period originated from anteater species (Manis javanica), Orang-utan (Pongo pygmaeus), and Turtle (Chelonia sp.). The dominant factor in the illegal trade of protected animals in the province of West Kalimantan in the 2016-2019 period was economic factors, followed by motives for the collection of rare goods and consumption. The performance of stakeholders in law enforcement against protected animals in the West Kalimantan region has succeeded in handling criminal cases against protected animals, all of which ended with the execution of the defendant.Keywords: law enforcement performance, protected animals, illegal trading, stakeholders.AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi tingginya kasus perdagangan illegal satwa dilindungi di Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Perdagangan satwa yang dilakukan cenderung pada spesies-spesies langka dan termasuk dalam daftar terancam punah. Aksi perdagangan satwa yang masih terjadi di Provinsi Kalimantan Barat mengindikasikan masih rendahnya penegakan hukum dan lemahnya pengawasan oleh pihak terkait dalam memberantas kasus perdagangan satwa yang dilindungi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji faktor penyebab terjadinya kejahatan perdagangan illegal terhadap satwa yang dilindungi, serta menganalisis kinerja pemangku kepentingan dalam penegakan hukum terhadap perdagangan illegal satwa yang dilindungi di wilayah Kalimantan Barat berdasarkan peran dan kewenangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey yang dipandu dengan kuesioner. Pemilihan responden dengan purposive sampling, analisis data menggunakan analisis kebijakan kemudian data dideskriptif dengan tabulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kurun waktu 2016-2019 terdapat 49 kasus perdagangan satwa illegal di Provinsi Kalimantan Barat, satwa yang diperdagangkan merupakan jenis satwa yang termasuk ke dalam satwa dilindungi dan tergolong dalam kateogri Appindiks I. Satwa dilindungi dominan yang diperdagangkan pada periode 2016-2019 berasal dari spesies trenggiling (Manis javanica), Orang utan (Pongo pygmeus), dan Penyu (Chelonia sp.). Faktor dominan perdagangan illegal satwa dilindungi di Provinsi Kalimantan Barat dalam periode 2016-2019 adalah faktor ekonomi kemudian diikuti motif koleksi barang langka dan konsumsi. Kinerja pemangku kepentingan dalam penegakan hukum terhadap satwa yang dilindungi di wilayah Kalimantan Barat, telah berhasil menangani kasus pidana terhadap satwa dilindungi yang kesemuanya berahir dengan eksekusi kepada terdakwa.Kata kunci: kinerja penegakan hukum, perdagangan illegal, satwa dilindungi, pemangku kepentingan.

Abstract

West Kalimantan is one of the provinces in Indonesia which has various types of tribes. The variety of use of animals is an implication of the diversity of ethnicities, both in terms of the types of animals used, the form of utilization and how to use them. The purpose of this study was to record and examine the use of animal species used by the Kanayatn Dayak Community for treatment, traditional and mystical rituals in Gombang Village, Sengah Temila District, Landak Regency. The method used in this research is a survey method and interviews with selected respondents and direct observation in the field. This study obtained 11 selected respondents and obtained 28 species of animals consisting of 22 families that are used by the people of Gombang Village for Medicine, Traditional Rituals, and Mystics. On average, each family only consists of 1 species except for families Carvidae, Suidae, Gekkonidae, Elipidae, Accipitridae and Apidae which consist of 2 species each. Based on the class level, 7 classes of animals were used, namely Mammals, Reptiles, Aves, Amphibians, Insects, Pisces, and Molluscs. The parts of animals that are used include the whole body, meat, bile, fat, honey, bones, liver, eggs, head, blood, voice, horns, fangs, feathers, presence and venom/poison. Keywords: Dayak Kanayatn, Ethnozoology, Treatment, Traditional and Mystical RitualsAbstrakKalimantan Barat merupakan salah satu provinsi di Indonesia yang memiliki beragam jenis suku. Ragam pemanfaatan satwa merupakan implikasi dari beragamnya etnis, baik dalam hal jenis satwa yang dimanfaatkan, bentuk pemanfaatan maupun cara memanfaatkannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendata dan mengkaji pemanfaatan jenis-jenis hewan yang dimanfaatkan oleh Masyarakat Dayak Kanayatn untuk pengobatan, ritual adat dan mistis di Desa Gombang Kecamatan Sengah Temila Kabupaten Landak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survey dan wawancara terhadap responden terpilih serta pengamatan langsung di lapangan. Penelitian ini diperoleh 11 responden terpilih dan diperoleh 28 jenis satwa yang terdiri atas 22 famili yang dimanfaatkan masyarakat Desa Gombang untuk Pengobatan, Ritual Adat, dan Mistis. Rata-rata setiap famili hanya terdiri dari 1 spesies kecuali untuk famili Carvidae, Suidae, Gekkonidae, Elipidae, Accipitridae dan Apidae yang terdiri masing-masing 2 spesies. Berdasarkan tingkat kelas diperoleh 7 kelas satwa yang dimanfaatkan yaitu Mamalia, Reptil, Aves, Amfibi, Insecta, Pisces, dan Molusca. Abstract

Humans utilize various biological resources to fulfill their daily needs, such as food, medicines, traditional ritual, mystical, regional arts, and hunting. Dayak Benyadu, located in Untang Village, Banyuke Hulu District, Landak Regency, is a Dayak tribe with cultural values inherited from their ancestors by generation. One of the cultures that still run until now is animals as medicine, traditional ritual, and mystical. This research aims to obtain data on animal species used as medicine, traditional ritual, and mystic, the animal body parts used, how to process, and how to use them. The method used in this research is the survey method, the selection of respondents conducted by snowball sampling techniques, and data collection used the questionnaire. Fourteen respondents obtained this research, eight animal species from 8 families used as a medicine, three species from 3 families used as traditional ritual, and three species from 3 families used as mystical by Dayak Benyadu community. The animal body parts used for treatment are flesh, spines, bile, legs, and blood. Variation of processing animals was scraped, dried, broken, roasted, boiled, and cooked. How to use the animal's body parts are drunk and eaten. The parts used for traditional rituals are the whole body and blood. The parts that are used for mystical values are the voice and the whole body.Keywords: Dayak Benyadu, Traditional ritual, Untang Village.AbstrakPemanfaatan berbagai sumber daya alam hayati dilakukan oleh manusia untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya sehari-hari.  Pemanfaatan yang digunakan yaitu sebagai makanan, obat-obatan, ritual adat, mistis, kesenian daerah, dan berburu. Suku Dayak Benyadu, yang terletak di Desa Untang, Kecamatan Banyuke Hulu, Kabupaten Landak, adalah Suku Dayak yang masih menjalankan nilai-nilai budaya yang diwariskan dari leluhur mereka secara turun-temurun. Salah satu budaya yang masih berjalan hingga sekarang adalah memanfaatkan satwa sebagai obat, ritual adat dan mistis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan data jenis satwa yang digunakan sebagai obat, ritual adat dan mistis, bagian-bagian yang digunakan, cara pengolahan dan cara penggunaannya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei, pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling dan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner. Penelitian ini diperoleh 14 responden terpilih dan diperoleh 8 jenis satwa dari 8 famili yang digunakan sebagai obat, 3 jenis satwa dari 3 famili yang digunakan sebagai ritual adat dan 3 jenis satwa dari 3 famili yang digunakan  untuk mistis oleh masyarakat Dayak Benyadu. Bagian tubuh yang digunakan untuk pengobatan adalah daging, duri, empedu, kaki, dan darah. Cara pengolahan satwa tersebut bervariasi, ada yang dikikis, dikeringkan, dipecah, dibakar, direbus, dan dimasak. Cara menggunakan bagian tubuh satwa tersebut diminum dan dimakan. Bagian yang digunakan untuk ritual adat adalah  seluruh badan dan darah. Bagian yang dimanfaatkan untuk nilai mistis adalah suara dan seluruh badan.  Kata Kunci: Dayak Benyadu, Desa Untang, Ritual Adat.

Abstract

Dayak Simpankg comunity in Mekar village are people who still hold the values inherited by their ancestors. One of the values that they are still running up to now is using animals as a sign. The purpose of this study is to find out the species of animal used as a sign, the part used and the meaning of the sign. The method used in field data collection is by interview and the data collection technique used is the snowball sampling method. Based on the results of the interview, 15 respondents were obtained. A total of 10 species animals from 10 families, namely Wild Pig, Clouded Leopard, Brown Wood Owl, White Rumped Munia, White Rumped Shama, Orange Bellied Flowerpecker, White Breasted Waterhen, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Asian Toad and Flat Tailed Gecko are utilized by Dayak Simpakng comunity. Some parts that are used are sounds, animals that suddenly enter the house, and animals that pass above the head.Keyword : Dayak Simpakng, Etnozoology, Pertanda

Abstract

The condition of orangutan habitat in ex-situ conservation areas is different from the condition of their natural habitat. These different habitat conditions will have an impact on orangutan behavior, especially food behavior and selection of feed types. This study aims to determine the feeding behavior and the food types of orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus) in the Forest Of Gurung Mali Village Tempunak Sub-district Sintang District. Observation of eating behavior is done using the focal animal sampling method. Observation of eating activities is quantitative, namely recording the time taken during orangutan eating activities. Observation of the type of feed is done by observing the remnants of discarded plants found on the forest floor and trees found as a place for orangutans looking for food sources. Based on observations of the eating behavior of each individual orangutan for the food provided shows the behavior of eating while sitting is higher than the percentage of other eating behavior. For the eating behavior that they are looking for themselves, it shows that Oscar, Digo and Putri tanjung individuals have higher hanging behavior compared to other eating behaviors. The percentage of Momo and Jojo individuals sat higher eating behavior compared to the percentage of other eating behaviors. The types of feed found in the study site were found 8 types of feed provided by the Rehabilitation center and 24 types of natural food contained in the enclosure forest.Keywords : Feeding Behavior, Orangutan, Type of Feed.
