Abstract

Many individuals with coronary heart disease (CHD) have erroneous beliefs about the condition, which in turn increases anxiety and depression. Providing information and facts about CHD through video may be able to correct the wrong conceptions of individuals about their disease. A total of 150 individuals with CHD at Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung, Indonesia (male = 65%, female = 35%) were divided into a control group and two experimental groups, with a quasi-experimental before-after design. The participants completed the York Cardiac Beliefs questionnaire at the start of the measurement, immediately after watching the video (time 1), and again after watching the video six times over a two week period (time 2). Beck Anxiety Inventory and Beck Depression Inventory-II questionnaires were also completed by participants at the beginning of the experiment and at time 2. The repeated measures ANOVA analysis showed a significant decrease in both experimental groups in terms of wrong beliefs about CHD (t=8.68 & 8.69, p< .01), anxiety (p< .01), and depression (t=8.17 & 7.76, p< .01). Watching videos giving facts and information about CHD can therefore correct erroneous beliefs about CHD, and reduce levels of anxiety and depression in individuals suffering from the disease.

Abstract

Abstract. Halal entrepreneurship is relevant for national economic growth, with the application of the AAOIFI transaction standard (ATS) having diverse impacts on halal digital entrepreneurship engagement. Despite the significant halal market value, ATS influence on business practices presents significant opportunities and challenges for halal digital entrepreneurship engagement, particularly in Indonesia. This qualitative study investigates the relevance and applicability of ATS in Indonesia’s halal digital entrepreneurship engagements through 13 purposive sampling semi-structured interviews analyzed thematically (open coding and axial coding) using NVIVO software. Findings accompanied by negative cases highlight the practical theme of strategic engagement and application of the ATS, contributing new perspectives to halal entrepreneurship theory and practice in halal digital business that harnesses the ATS. This theoretical implication extends the understanding of halal digital entrepreneurship and conforms to the importance of integrating AAOIFI into the halal ecosystem. Practical implications include leveraging ATS for digital business growth while upholding Islamic values, extending ATS application to the real sector, both globally and digitally, and understanding ATS as crucial for success in halal digital businesses.  Keywords:  Halal entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship engagement, AAOIFI transaction standard, Indonesia’s halal digital business, thematic analysis

Abstract

This study aims to develop the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of PT Borneo Indobara through a case study of the Kenari Jaya Program in Trans Nelayan Angsana Village, Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan. The program is designed to empower the fishermen community in economic, social, and environmental aspects through the provision of fish aggregating devices (rumpon), training, and fisheries infrastructure development. This research employs a qualitative exploratory approach by collecting data through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate positive impacts of the program on increasing fishermen’s income, improving fishing time efficiency, and diversifying family economic activities through home industry groups. The study also identifies challenges such as uneven distribution of benefits, lack of technical training, and limited local economic institutions. SWOT analysis and Fishbone Diagram were used to identify root causes and formulate development strategies to make the program more inclusive, sustainable, and socially impactful. Recommendations include strengthening fishermen’s cooperatives, expanding training coverage, and developing alternative community-based development programs. The results are expected to serve as a reference for developing CSR programs based on coastal community empowerment in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to examine the role of mindfulness in reducing turnover intention through work stress, and how resilience moderates this relationship among sales employees in Indonesia’s distribution industry. Methodology/approach: Data were collected from 307 sales professionals through purposive sampling, consisting of employees with at least one year of tenure. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. Results/findings: Results indicate that mindfulness significantly reduces turnover intention by lowering work stress. Work stress fully mediates the relationship between mindfulness and turnover intention. Furthermore, resilience significantly moderates the relationship between mindfulness and work stress, strengthening the stress-reducing impact of mindfulness. Conclusions: Mindfulness plays a critical role in decreasing employees' intention to leave by alleviating work stress, and resilience enhances this effect. Organizations are encouraged to implement structured mindfulness training programs and resilience-building workshops as part of their employee development strategies to mitigate stress-related turnover. Limitations: The study was conducted using samples and populations from only one company and was limited to the sales department. Contribution: This study contributes to the development of HRD management practices by introducing individual interventions focused on mindfulness and resilience. It provides new psychological approaches to reduce turnover caused by work stress.

Abstract

Grounded in four interconnected constructs (employee happiness, digital technology adoption, employee performance, and work culture), this study examines how psychological factors influence technology adoption in high-risk, labor-intensive industries like coal mining. Addressing a gap in literature, it explores how digital tools affect employee performance amidst physical demands and job stress. Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyze data from 124 frontline employees at PT XYZ, four hypotheses were tested: (1) digital technology adoption positively impacts employee happiness; (2) happiness mediates the relationship between digital technology and performance; (3) happiness mediates the relationship between digital technology and work culture; and (4) work culture moderates the happiness-performance link. Results show digital tools significantly boost employee happiness (B = 0.612, p < 0.001), which improves performance (B = 0.317, p = 0.001) and fosters a positive work culture (B = 0.491, p < 0.001). The moderating effect of work culture was not significant (B = 0.102, p = 0.212), indicating cultural rigidity in traditional industrial settings. This research extends models like the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by integrating emotional outcomes, demonstrating that digital tools reduce stress and enhance motivation beyond efficiency. Practically, it recommends three interventions: a Digital-Engagement Dashboard, cross-functional Innovation Labs, and leadership training to build digital empathy. These align technology with employee well-being. Future research should validate this framework across industries and time. By positioning happiness as a mediator, the study offers insights bridging organizational psychology and digital transformation in high-risk sectors.
