Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kebahasaan yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan makna tekstual dan kontekstual majas hiperbola dan personifikasi yang terdapat dalam surat Yusuf ayat 47-49 dan teks berita di media massa yang membahas tentang fenomena El Nino. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis konten dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Peneliti membahas adanya ayat al quran yang mengandung majas personifikasi dan teks berita di media massa yang mengandung majas hiperbola. Ditemukan bahwa kedua hal tersebut memiliki keselarasan peristiwa, yakni membahas keadaan masa kemarau yang berkepanjangan. This research is a linguistic research which aims to describe the textual and contextual meaning of hyperbole and personification figures of speech contained in Yusuf's letter verses 47-49 and news texts in the mass media which discuss the El Nino phenomenon. This research uses a content analysis method with a qualitative approach. Researchers discuss the existence of verses from the Koran that contain personification figures of speech and news texts in the mass media that contain hyperbole figures of speech. It was found that these two things were in harmony with events, namely discussing the condition of a prolonged dry period.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya bahasa dalam kisah Al-Qur'an dan kisah modern dengan pendekatan ilmu bayan sebagai bagian dari stilistika. Studi ini menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk membandingkan kisah Nabi Musa dan Khidir dalam Al-Qur'an dengan cerpen في القطار karya Mahmud Taymur. Fokus penelitian terletak pada analisis tekstual untuk memahami dan membandingkan gaya bahasa dari perspektif ilmu bayan, dengan pendekatan analisis isi (content analysis). Pendekatan ilmu bayan digunakan untuk mengungkap unsur keindahan bahasa, penggunaan majas, dan struktur naratif yang membangun makna dalam kedua teks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kisah Nabi Musa dan Khidir dalam Al-Qur'an kaya akan pesan moral, nilai spiritual, serta keindahan retorika melalui penggunaan tamsil, kinayah, dan isti’arah. Sementara itu, cerpen في القطار karya Mahmud Taymur menampilkan gaya bahasa modern yang menonjolkan detail kehidupan sosial melalui simbolisme dan alegori sebagai medium pengungkapan. Penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa meskipun berasal dari konteks yang berbeda—satu dari Al-Qur'an dan satu dari sastra modern—keduanya menggunakan gaya bahasa yang kaya akan simbol dan kiasan untuk menyampaikan kedalaman makna, baik dalam konteks spiritual maupun sosial. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman intertekstualitas dan penerapan ilmu bayan dalam analisis sastra klasik dan modern, sekaligus memperkuat kajian hubungan antara sastra Islam dan kontemporer. This study aims to analyze the stylistic features of language in Qur'anic narratives and modern stories through the lens of Ilm al-Bayan as part of stylistics. A descriptive method is employed to compare the story of Prophet Musa and Khidr in the Qur'an with the short story Fī al-qiṭār by Mahmud Taymur. The study focuses on textual analysis to explore and compare the stylistic elements from the perspective of Ilm al-Bayan, using content analysis as the methodological approach. The Ilm al-Bayan framework is utilized to uncover the aesthetic aspects of language, the use of rhetorical devices, and the narrative structures that shape the meaning within both texts. The findings reveal that the Qur'anic story of Prophet Musa and Khidr is rich in moral messages, spiritual values, and rhetorical elegance through the use of similes, metaphors, and allegories. Meanwhile, Mahmud Taymur's Fī al-qiṭār showcases modern stylistic elements, emphasizing the details of social life through symbolism and allegory as mediums of expression. This study highlights that, despite their differing contexts—one rooted in the Qur'an and the other in modern literature—both texts exhibit a wealth of symbolic and figurative language to convey profound meanings, whether in spiritual or social dimensions. This research is expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of intertextuality and the application of Ilm al-Bayan in the analysis of classical and modern literature, while also strengthening the connection between Islamic and contemporary literature.

Abstract

PurposeAmong the controversial issues in the 20th  century, even today, was the Islam's relationship with modern Western culture, whether it should be rejected, accepted, or critically accepted (adaptive adoption patterns). This article discussed this topic based on a study of Salah Asuhan by Abdoel Moeis as Idonesian Novel which was published in 1928. MethodThe study was conducted using a qualitative research method based on literature research enriched by a study of scientific literature. The theory used is the theory of postcolonialism and the construction of religious moderation of Islam. Results/findingsThis research found that the Salah Asuhan Novel was a construction of the author's moderate attitude towards Islam, its relationship with modern Western culture. In it, there was not only Moeis resistance to modern Western culture as a domination and a product of colonialism, but also adaptive adoption (hybridity), in which modern Western culture in general had to be handled by sorting/selecting. The pattern of Islamic moderation in the sense of a middle way was mostly adopted by Moeis,  although moderation was also adopted in the sense of emphasizing on upholding justice, considering the public benefit, especially eliminating inhuman difficulties as a point of view.  ConclusionIn cultural issues, Moeis in the novel tended to have to not fully accept modern Western culture. For example on science and technology, humanism, including feminism, the importance of legal evidence such as marriage with a legal marriage certificate, and educational patterns that emphasize religion, but also modern science.

Abstract

Penggunaan media audio visual dalam pembelajaran Istima’ telah terbukti sebagai metode yang efektif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa kajian terhadap penelitian-penelitian terdahulu yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media audio visual dapat membantu guru menyampaikan materi Istima’ dengan lebih mudah serta meningkatkan minat belajar siswa terhadap pembelajaran menyimak kosakata bahasa Arab. Selain itu, penggunaan alat pengeras suara sebagai media pendukung juga menjadi faktor penting dalam proses pengajaran. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya pemanfaatan teknologi dalam mendukung pembelajaran bahasa Arab yang interaktif dan efektif. The use of audio-visual media in Istima’ learning has been proven to be an effective method for improving the quality of Arabic language education. This study employed a qualitative method by collecting data through a review of relevant previous studies. The findings reveal that audio-visual media significantly aids teachers in delivering Istima’ lessons more effectively and enhances students' interest in learning Arabic vocabulary listening skills. Additionally, the use of sound amplification systems as supporting media is identified as a crucial factor in the teaching process. These findings emphasize the importance of utilizing technology to support interactive and effective Arabic language learning.

Abstract

Penilitian ini membahas tentang ambiguitas dan distorsi makna yang terdapat dalam surat di dalam Al-Qur'an. Dalam kajian semantik, ambiguitas atau ketidak jelasan makna dapat disebabkan oleh beberapa hal, di antaranya adalah kata yang memiliki sifat umum atau kalimat yang tidak pernah seratus persen homogen. Sedangkan distorsi terjadi akibat kurangnya pengetahuan atau tindakan dari setiap individu yang ingin memahami ayat tersebut sesuai keinginannya dan ingin merangsang orang lain agar menyimpang dari pemahaman makna ayat Al-Qur'an. Dengan menggunakan metode metode kajian pustaka (literature review), peneliti mencoba mengumpulkan bahan materi secara sistematis tentang ambiguitas dan distorsi makna yang terdapat dalam beberapa ayat al-Qur’an dari penelitian-penelitian yang terdahulu. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis memaparkan contoh-contoh ambiguitas dan distorsi makna dalam al-Qur’an. Terdapat ambiguitas makna pada surah al-Baqarah ayat 228 dan an-Nisa ayat 43 dari penelitian Kamaluddin Abunawas, surah al-Baqarah ayat 223 dan an-Nisa ayat 34 pada penelitian Iswah Adriana, surah al-Baqarah ayat 220 pada penelitian Salman dkk.. Dan terdapat distorsi makna pada surah al-Baqarah ayat 191 dan 255 dari penelitian Septiani dkk., surah Thaha ayat 121, an-Nisa ayat 164, al-A’raf ayat 179 dari penelitian Nirwana AN. Serta dalam penelitian ini penulis juga berusaha memberikan sikap menghadapi ambiguitas dan distorsi makna dalam ayat al-Qur’an. This research discusses the ambiguity and distortion of meaning contained in letters in the Al-Qur'an. In semantic studies, ambiguity or unclear meaning can be caused by several things, including words that have general characteristics or sentences that are never one hundred percent homogeneous. Meanwhile, distortion occurs due to a lack of knowledge or action on the part of each individual who wants to understand the verse according to his wishes and wants to stimulate other people to deviate from understanding the meaning of the verse of the Qur'an. By using the literature review method, the researchers tried to collect material systematically about the ambiguity and distortion of meaning contained in several verses of the Qur'an from previous studies. In this research, the researchers describe examples of ambiguity and distortion of meaning in the Qur'an. There is ambiguity in the meaning of surah al-Baqarah verse 228 and an-Nisa verse 43 from Kamaluddin Abunawas' research, surah al-Baqarah verse 223 and an-Nisa verse 34 in Iswah Adriana's research, surah al-Baqarah verse 220 in Salman et al.'s research. And there is a distortion of meaning in surah al-Baqarah verses 191 and 255 from Septiani et al.'s research, surah Thaha verse 121, an-Nisa verse 164, al-A'raf verse 179 from AN's Nirvana research. And in this research the researchers also try to provide an attitude towards facing ambiguity and distortion of meaning in the verses of the Qur'an.

Abstract

Penilitian ini membahas tentang tujuan pengulangan kisah nabi Nuh dalam Alquran dan relevansinya dengan repetisi pembelajaran. Dalam penulisan ini menjelaskan tujuan-tujuan pengulangan kisah nabi Nuh dalam Alquran, diantara tujuan-tujuan tersebut yaitu Pembelajaran nilai-nilai kehidupan dari kisah nabi Nuh, Peringatan untuk umat manusia agar bertaqwa dan tidak mengingkari wahyu, penguatan pesan moral dalam menghadapi tantangan hidup. Dari tiga hal diatas dijabarkan kembali pada pembahasan. Dalam kisah nabi Nuh yang sering kali diulang yang tedapat dibebeapa ayat menjelaskan bagaimana sabarnya nabi nuh menghadapi kaumnya yang sangat membangkang, memiliki relevansi dengan repetisi pembelajaran, Adapun relevansi kisah nabi nuh dengan repetisi pembelajaran yaitu menyangkut: Efek positif dari repetisi terhadap pemahaman dan daya ingat siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam kisah nabi nuh bukan hanya memperkuat daya ingat siswa melainkan untuk menciptakan pemahaman yang mendalam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Kualitatif Deskriptif (Library Research) dengan pendekatan tafsir dan pendidikan. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menuliskan Beberapa surah-suah dalam Alquran yang membahas tentang kisah nabi Nuh seperti dalam surah Nuh ayat 1-3 dari penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Nadila, Hasah, Siti Fauziah, Nuh 26-27 penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Alizaki, dan suah Ala’raf pada ayat 60-61 dari penelitian Muhammad Thaib. Dan dalam penelitian ini penulis berusaha menjelaskan tujuan pengulangan kisah nabi Nuh dalam alquran beserta elevansinya dengan repetisi pembelajaran. This research discusses the repetition of the story of Prophet Noah (Nabi Nuh) in the Qur'an and its relevance to repetition in learning. The study elaborates on the objectives behind the repeated narration of Prophet Noah's story in the Qur'an. Among these objectives are: teaching life values derived from Prophet Noah's story, providing a warning to humanity to be pious and not reject divine revelations, and reinforcing moral messages for overcoming life's challenges. These three aspects are further detailed in the discussion. The repeated mention of Prophet Noah’s story across various verses demonstrates his patience in dealing with a highly defiant community. This repetition has relevance to learning repetition, particularly regarding the positive effects of repetition on students' comprehension and memory retention. The findings of this research indicate that the repetition of Prophet Noah's story in the Qur'an not only strengthens students' memory but also fosters deeper understanding. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method (library research) with an interpretative approach that combines Quranic exegesis and education. The research refers to several surahs in the Qur'an discussing Prophet Noah’s story, such as Surah Nuh (verses 1–3), based on the research by Nadila, Hasah, and Siti Fauziah; Surah Nuh (verses 26–27), as explored by Alizaki; and Surah Al-A’raf (verses 60–61), as examined by Muhammad Thaib. Abstract

Salah satu hal utama yang perlu diperhatikan untuk memahami makna suatu kalimat adalah konteks. Mengesampingkan konteks sama saja dengan memperlakukan sebuah kalimat atau ujaran secara tidak adil, karena keduanya saling terkait dalam proses pembentukan makna. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi pemikiran tiga tokoh utama dalam kajian teks dan konteks, yaitu Abdul Qahir al-Jurjani, J.R. Firth, dan Teun A. van Dijk, serta relevansinya dalam analisis modern. Studi ini juga membahas aplikasi teori mereka dalam berbagai kajian modern, termasuk analisis sastra, linguistik fungsional, analisis wacana kritis, dan studi media. Pendekatan al-Jurjani membantu memahami pengaruh konteks historis dan budaya terhadap interpretasi karya sastra, sementara konsep Firth memperdalam analisis interaksi antara struktur teks dan konteks sosial. Model kognisi sosial van Dijk membuka peluang untuk mengeksplorasi bagaimana pengalaman individu dan konteks sosial membentuk pemahaman teks. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa makna bahasa merupakan hasil interaksi kompleks antara teks dan konteks. Integrasi teori-teori ini dalam kajian modern memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang komunikasi manusia serta pembentukan makna dalam berbagai situasi sosial dan budaya. Dengan demikian, pemikiran al-Jurjani, Firth, dan van Dijk tetap relevan dalam menjelaskan dinamika komunikasi di era modern. One of the key aspects to consider in understanding the meaning of a sentence is context. Ignoring context is equivalent to treating a sentence or utterance unfairly, as both are inherently interconnected in the process of meaning formation. This article explores the ideas of three prominent figures in the study of text and context: Abdul Qahir al-Jurjani, J.R. Firth, and Teun A. van Dijk, as well as their relevance in modern analysis. The study also examines the application of their theories in various contemporary fields, including literary analysis, functional linguistics, critical discourse analysis, and media studies. Al-Jurjani’s approach aids in understanding the influence of historical and cultural contexts on the interpretation of literary works, while Firth’s concept enhances the analysis of interactions between text structures and social contexts. Van Dijk’s model of social cognition provides opportunities to explore how individual experiences and social contexts shape text comprehension. The findings indicate that the meaning of language results from the complex interaction between text and context. Integrating these theories into modern studies offers profound insights into human communication and the formation of meaning in diverse social and cultural situations. Thus, the thoughts of al-Jurjani, Firth, and van Dijk remain highly relevant in explaining the dynamics of communication in the modern era

Abstract

Religious conversions made by Balinese people from Hinduism to Islam or to Islam are evidence of religious moderation in Hinduism. The interaction between the Hindu community of Buleleng and the Muslim community has created a new culture or cultural acculturation and even marriage which has an impact on religious conversion from Hinduism to Islam. This article aims to reveal the tolerance and moderation of Hinduism that has a major impact on the moderate social religious activities of Muslimat NU Buleleng so that a moderate Muallafah emerges. This research is a qualitative research with Anthropology and Sociology of Religion approach. The primary data of this research are Muallafah and Muslimat NU Ranting Seririt Organisation, Buleleng District, Bali. The findings of this research are that the majority of Buleleng Bali Muallafahs come from Hinduism and make religious conversions due to marriage. The Muallafah joined the Muslimat NU because the tolerance and moderation of the Hindu community towards minority Muslims is quite high. Muslimat NU's social religious activities include Friday blessings; Pengajian Umum, Dzikir Akbar, and Reciting Burdah Covid 19 Prevention Social Service and Soft Skill Training and Economic Empowerment. The success of socio-religious activities carried out by Muslimat NU in Bali towards the majority Hindu Balinese community is evidence of tolerance and religious moderation of Hindu society in Bali so that Muallafah Muslimat NU Buleleng Bali feels living in harmony and peace without discrimination and pressure from the surrounding community and even family for choosing Islam as a new religion.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to reveal the ecology in the book of Al-Qiraah Al-Rashidah contained in the topic of flaura and fauna. The relationship between flora and fauna seems to be discussed in order to introduce ecology and the relationship between humans and nature and vice versa. Kitab Al-Qiraah al-Rasyidah is an Arabic learning module in some Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia so that this becomes important in order to strengthen ecological education to the younger generation. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with an ecological approach. Kitab Al-Qirâ'ah Al-Rashîdah juz 1 and 2 by Abdul Fattah is the primary source. This article finds that adaptation can be used in literary works considering that many terms contain cultural elements such as the word Al-Khasyab which is translated as ‘anjang-anjang bamboo’ which is adapted into Indonesian in the form of bamboo sticks stuck into the ground as a support for the vine. Adjusting the dialogue to the local cultural context can also instill moral values and enrich children's understanding of the role of fauna and fauna in the natural ecosystem. The design of website-based educational media can provide an understanding of texts that contain ecological knowledge according to technological developments.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pemaknaan adaptasi budaya dalam tema flora dan fauna dalam kitab Al-Qiraah Al-Rasyidah yang menjadi salah satu bahan ajar di Pesantren Indonesia. Materi flora dan fauna potensial menjadi matari Pendidikan ekologi bagi pelajar untuk mempelajari kembali  hubungan manusia dengan alam dan sebaliknya. Riset ini juga bertujuan untuk mengembangan Pendidikan ekologi dalam Al-Qiraah al-Rasyidah melalui Website sehingga semakin banyak pelajar non Pesantren dapat mengakses dan memanfaatkannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan ekologi. Kitab Al-Qirâ’ah Al-Rasyîdah juz 1 dan 2 karya Abdul Fattah adalah sumber primer. Artikel ini menemukan bahwa adaptasi bisa digunakan dalam kitab Al-Qiraah Al-Rasyidah yang dialogis dan dramatis. Ada beberapa istilah yang memuat unsur budaya seperti kata Al-Khasyab yang dimaknai dengan ‘anjang-anjang bambu’ yang diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia berupa batang bambu yang ditancapkan ke tanah sebagai penopang pohon anggur. Penyesuaian dialog dengan konteks budaya lokal juga dapat menanamkan nilai moral dan memperkaya pemahaman anak-anak tentang peran fauna fauna dalam ekosistem alam. Pendidikan ekologi yang diajarkan dalam Al-Qiraah Al-Rasyidah di antaranya pendidikan pelestarian alam baik tumbuhan dan hewan; merawat tanaman, proses pertumbuhan pohon; penopangan tanaman dengan anjang-anjang; sistem irigasi tradisional; keselamatan bertani; melestarikan gajah dan menjaga gajah dari kepunahan; simbiosis mutualisme alam, proses produksi madu oleh lebah,; dan Pendidikan menjaga ekosistem bunga. Perancangan media pendidikan berbasis website dapat memberikan akses luas terhadap para pelajar di luar pesantren karena Al-Qiraah al-Rasyidah merupakan modul belajar Bahasa Arab para pelajar di beberapa pesantren di Indonesia.
