Abstract

In the school environment, all teachers have a good level of teacher efficacy. However, in reality, many teachers still find low levels of efficacy. This has an impact on students' knowledge, understanding, and achievement in the school environment. This is urgent to be researched because there are similarities between theory, hope, and reality. So the research aims to analyze the factors that influence teachers' self-effectiveness in implementing Environmental Education in schools. The method in this research is quantitative research with regression. The subjects consisted of 300 teachers from private secondary schools and state secondary schools spread across Indonesia. Data collection techniques using instruments. Instruments developed from indicators and measured based on a Likert scale. Data analysis techniques using Statistics version 25.0 with descriptive (mean, standard deviation, frequency, and percentage) and inferential statistics using the Multiple Linear Regression method. The results and research findings show that the level of teacher self-efficacy in implementing Environmental Education in schools is moderate. It was found that the factors that influence teacher self-efficacy in the implementation of education are teacher awareness of the environment and teacher perceptions of the principal's learning leadership.

Abstract

The problem with learning English in elementary schools is the low learning outcomes of students, especially in understanding the material. The urgency of applying Augmented Reality (AR) technology as a learning medium is to improve students' understanding of English more interestingly and interactively. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using AR in improving student learning outcomes in English subjects in elementary schools. The research method used is quantitative with the research subjects being elementary school students. The data collection technique is carried out through questionnaires filled out by students after using AR-based learning media. The data analysis technique used is a statistical analysis to measure the increase in student learning outcomes before and after using AR. The research results show that there is a significant increase in students' understanding of English material after using AR as a learning medium. This research concludes that the application of AR is effective in improving student learning outcomes in English subjects in elementary schools. The implication of this research is the need to integrate AR technology into the English language learning curriculum in elementary schools to improve the quality of learning and students' understanding of the subject matter.

In this study, researchers used advertisements for a drink taken from internet. The findings from this analysis are that there are several clauses that contain declarative negative moods and there are clauses that contain multiple declarative positive moods. The results of the data analysis ultimately show that the ad is declarative in nature, which is it provides information to the reader. The subject found 5(20,83%), finite found 7 (29,17%), predicator found 3 (12,5%), complement found 4 (16,67%), adjunct found 5 (20,83%). It can be concluded that the writing in the advertisement are giving information declarative with related in the function of interpersonal. Through this analysis the research team has shown how the interpersonal function analyzes the meaning of an advertisement, it is very important for us to know the meaning of a text to understand the content and purpose of the text so that readers do not experience misunderstandings in absorbing a text Keywords: Advertisement, Interpersonal Function, Meaning Text, Systemic Functional Linguistics

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the level of student anxiety with the performance of students speaking in front of the class. This research used a quantitative method in the correlation model. The population in this study was Junior High School, and the sample used for this study was grade 9 students with a total of 32 students. The instruments used are questionnaires and tests. The collected data, both questionnaire scores and speaking test scores, were then analyzed through SPSS. The results of the data significance analysis were 0.990. Hypothesis attempts to explain N.Sig > 5% and for these effects, the null hypothesis in this observation is accepted. This issue suggests that students' anxiety and speaking performance in front of the class are not correlated. It could be concluded that, there is no correlation between student anxiety and students' speaking performance. Based totally on these outcomes, the strength of this correlation is moderate. From the outcomes of this observation, it could be stated that language anxiety hurts students' speaking performance. Consequently, students with low anxiety have a good speaking rating, and students with high anxiety may have a low speaking rating.

Abstract

Effective communication is crucial in education as it plays a pivotal role in fostering student engagement and participation in the classroom. Students encounter numerous challenges when engaging with teachers, particularly in English classes. They must exert greater focus and be more proactive in the learning process to comprehend the information, which hinders their ability to remain engaged and actively participate. Researchers aim to explore questioning strategies and cold-calling techniques to enhance students' comprehension, increase their engagement in the learning process, and create avenues for them to articulate their viewpoints using cold-calling approaches facilitated by the teacher. This study aims to analyze how students react to the combination of the questioning method and cold calling in a collaborative setting. The study employed the qualitative descriptive method as its research approach and design. The research findings demonstrated that integrating the questioning method and cold calling was not beneficial in facilitating the development of practical lessons. It was evident from the shift in class dynamics observed after the study. Conversely, cold calling continues to pressure students, causing them to lose concentration on class issues. Implementing questioning and cold-calling strategies in the classroom yields distinct effects. There were two opposing situations in which students attempted to maintain their focus to respond to the teacher's questions while also experiencing anxiety simultaneously.

Abstract

Language is a crucial component of communication and serves as the foundation for interactions. In linguistics, there is a branch called pragmatics that studies speech acts. Pragmatics provides a framework for analyzing the relationship between language and context. Related to pragmatics, this research explores the classifications of speech acts in the film "Good Will Hunting (1997)”. This research aims to analyze the type of speech acts, as proposed by Searle (1976), that can be found in conversations between the characters Will Hunting and Sean Maguire. The film offers a narrative canvas to investigate representatives, directives, commissives, expressives, and declaratives. A descriptive qualitative method was employed in this research. The data was collected by employing attentive listening and note-taking methods and analyzed using descriptive and interpretative techniques. The findings of this research reveal a total of 61 speech acts, with representatives being the most dominant type with a total of 43 speeches, followed by directives totaling 8 speeches, 6 expressives, and both commissives and declaratives totaling 2 speeches each. The implications of these findings extend to a nuanced understanding of interpersonal communication in cinematic contexts. Keywords : pragmatics, speech acts, illocutionary acts
