Abstract

The objectives of the study were to analyze online learning media used by English teachers at SMA Negeri in Tarakan and find out the important factors that influence the successful use of online learning media by English teachers at SMA Negeri in Tarakan North Kalimantan. The study was descriptive qualitative. The subjects were the teachers of English at SMA Negeri in Tarakan. To collect the data used observations, interviews and documentation and to analyze the data used the stages of Miles and Huberman. The stages are data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusions: drawing and verifying. The results of the study showed that 1) the online learning media platforms used by English teachers at SMA Negeri in Tarakan were quite varied. The online learning media platforms include google classroom (84.6%), google meet (76.9%), Whats-App group (76.9), zoom meeting application (61.5%), Microsoft teams (15.4), telegram (46.2), rumah belajar (7.7%), you-tube (61.5%), madrasah e-learning (7.7%), google form (7.7%), quiziz (7.7%), online test provider websites (7.7%) and eduku (7.7%). Most of the English teachers at SMA Negeri in Tarakan used the Google Classroom online learning media platform, 2) The success of online learning on English at SMA Negeri in Tarakan was influenced by teacher factors, technological factors and design and content factors.

Abstract

This article is intended to reveal students’ Intralingual and Interlingual Grammatical Error on their writings. The design of this research was descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted at Junior High School Level with 21 participants through purposive sampling method. Students’ writings were the main data used in this research. Based on the students' writings, the researchers pinpointed the errors' sources. Using Richards' categorization, the errors were then divided into intralingual transfer and interlingual transfer. Intralingual transfer was the first and most frequent source of errors. This type contained 66 errors, or 84%. Interlingual error was the second most common type of error, accounting for 13 or 16% of all errors. The target language itself, which led to the students' errors. Interlingual error occurred when students employed the first language system to produce language because they were unaware of the rules or grammar of the target language they were learning. It is crucial for teachers explain to students how grammatical notions function in context. Giving constructive feedback on English grammar assignments will enable teachers and students to gain a better idea of where each person sits in terms of their knowledge level.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini merupakan inisiatif kolaboratif dengan sekolah-sekolah di sekitar kawasan pesisir Pantai Amal Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara, dengan fokus khusus pada siswa/i SMP Plus Tahfiz Quran yang menunjukkan kekurangan dalam penguasaan bahasa Inggris. Pertimbangan utama kemitraan ini dilandaskan pada pemahaman akan urgensi peningkatan kompetensi bahasa Inggris sebagai elemen kritis dalam kurikulum pendidikan. Kegiatan pelatihan yang diselenggarakan bertujuan memberikan siswa/i pemahaman yang mendalam terkait kosakata bahasa Inggris yang dapat diaplikasikan dalam konteks kehidupan sehari-hari, dengan penekanan pada keterampilan praktis dan relevansi di lingkungan sekolah. Metode pelaksanaan yang diterapkan adalah pendekatan evaluatif terhadap penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris, dengan fokus pada kemampuan komunikasi praktis. Hasil penelitian mencerminkan tingginya tingkat partisipasi dan antusiasme siswa/i selama pelatihan, terutama dalam aspek kosakata yang terkait dengan objek sekitar, pengenalan diri, serta tanggapan terhadap percakapan sederhana. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini menghasilkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kepercayaan diri dan tingkat keterlibatan siswa/i selama proses pembelajaran bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Tim dosen Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Borneo Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara, berinisiatif melakukan kegiatan pengabdian di wilayah pesisir kota Tarakan, dengan target para pelajar dari jenjang pendidikan dasar dan menengah. Kegiatan pengabdian difokuskan pada pengajaran bahasa Inggris menggunakan metode STAD dan gamifikasi sebagai strategi pendukungnya. Materi yang diberikan ditekankan pada penguasaan kosakata bahasa Inggris dan keterampilan berbicara. Metode kegiatan ini adalah pembelajaran kooperatif, strategi gamifikasi, dan pendekatan evaluatif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan tingkat partisipasi dan antusiasme peserta yang tinggi, terutama dalam aspek penguasaan kosakata aktivitas harian, hewan, buah, sayuran, dan presentasi sederhana. Selain itu, kegiatan ini turut berimplikasi pada motivasi para peserta untuk mempelajari bahasa Inggris.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi numerasi melalui penerapan media pembelajaran berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) di Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Melati Juata Laut Kota Tarakan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan workshop yang dipadukan dengan community-based learning dan melibatkan 23 peserta yang terdiri atas guru dan siswa PKBM. Media yang digunakan merupakan produk pembelajaran AR yang telah memiliki perlindungan Hak Kekayaan Intelektual. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahapan identifikasi kebutuhan mitra, pengembangan dan validasi media, sosialisasi, workshop dan praktik langsung, pendampingan, serta evaluasi dan refleksi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman literasi numerasi peserta, yang tercermin dari kenaikan rata-rata skor pemahaman dari 58,4 menjadi 76,9. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan motivasi belajar dari skor rata-rata 2,47 menjadi 3,57 serta peningkatan partisipasi aktif peserta dari 39,1% menjadi 82,6%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media Augmented Reality mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih visual, kontekstual, dan partisipatif. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi berupa model pengabdian masyarakat berbasis teknologi AR ber-HKI yang relevan dan berpotensi diterapkan secara berkelanjutan pada pendidikan nonformal.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze how National Retail has developed in Tanjung Redeb District, Berau Regency and to analyze the positive and negative impacts of retail National support for small businesses in Tanjung Redeb District, Berau Regency. Based on the results of the data analysis carried out and the discussion that has been presented, it is concluded that the existence of Indomaret and Alfamidi as modern shops in Tanjung Redeb is increasingly shifting the existence of small shop owners who have traditional shops/kiosks selling the same merchandise. The number of consumers continues to decrease, which also has an impact on the income of small shop traders. Injustice is still felt by traders who own small shops. The existence of Indomaret and Alfamidi in Tanjung Redeb The existence of Indomaret and Alfamidi has both negative and positive impacts on society. The negative impact is felt by small shop traders who feel increasingly marginalized because of the existence of Indomaret and Alfamidi with cheap prices and much more complete goods.

Abstract

This research was conducted to compare the calculation of the cost of goods manufactured by Saskia Knitting as a knitwear manufacturer and calculations using the full costing method. The research method used by the author is descriptive research and data collection techniques are carried out by interviews and documentation. This study used 5 knitwear products, namely vests, chest zippers, full zippers, zakat, and T-shirts. The results of this study found that the cost of production with the full costing method has a higher value than according to the company. This happens because the calculation of the cost of production according to the company contains factory overhead costs that are not included. In addition, the profit according to the calculation of the cost of production using the full costing method and the selling price from the company has a lower value, so a new selling price is calculated for 3 knitwear products, namely vests, chest zippers and full zippers. The range of differences for the cost of production and profit from calculations carried out by Saskia Knitting using the full costing method is 11.59%-16.54%.

Abstract

ABSTRAKManuskrip pengabdian ini melaporkan program utama Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Borneo Tarakan (UBT) di Desa Mendupo, Kecamatan Betayau, Kabupaten Tana Tidung, Kalimantan Utara, yang dilaksanakan pada 22 Desember 2025 s.d. 30 Januari 2026. Kegiatan dilatarbelakangi oleh kebutuhan penguatan kapasitas desa pada aspek kesehatan keluarga, literasi anak, dan pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal yang masih memerlukan pendampingan yang lebih terstruktur. Program dilaksanakan oleh mahasiswa KKN UBT Kelompok 01 dengan mitra kelembagaan utama Pemerintah Desa Mendupo, PKK/kader posyandu, pengelola TBM, dan Karang Taruna, serta melibatkan warga, anak-anak, ibu hamil, dan keluarga balita sebagai sasaran kegiatan. Program dirancang terintegrasi pada tiga kegiatan prioritas: (1) penanaman dan penguatan kebun Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) sebagai upaya ketahanan kesehatan rumah tangga; (2) penguatan literasi anak melalui revitalisasi Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (TBM) dengan model belajar sambil bermain; dan (3) sosialisasi persuasif pencegahan stunting bagi ibu hamil serta ibu/pengasuh balita. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan critical participatory action research (CPAR) melalui tahapan koordinasi awal dan analisis situasi, perencanaan kolaboratif bersama mitra, pelaksanaan program melalui pendampingan praktik langsung, serta evaluasi-refleksi untuk menyusun tindak lanjut. Keberhasilan kegiatan tidak diukur melalui pretest-posttest formal, tetapi melalui evaluasi formatif berupa observasi partisipatif, logbook, dokumentasi, tanya jawab, tingkat partisipasi, dan refleksi bersama mitra pada akhir rangkaian kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan meningkatnya pemahaman warga tentang manfaat dan perawatan TOGA, meningkatnya minat anak mengikuti kegiatan TBM ketika dipadukan dengan aktivitas kreatif (mendongeng, menggambar, mewarnai), serta menguatnya pemahaman bahwa stunting tidak semata faktor keturunan, melainkan terkait gizi, pola asuh, dan kebersihan lingkungan pada periode 1.000 HPK. Simpulan pengabdian menegaskan bahwa integrasi program kesehatan-literasi-pemberdayaan sumber daya lokal melalui kemitraan kampus dan desa efektif memperkuat kapasitas masyarakat dan layak direplikasi pada konteks pedesaan serupa.Kata Kunci: TOGA; TBM; Pencegahan Stunting; KKN; Pengabdian Masyarakat. ABSTRACTThis community service manuscript reports the main programs implemented during the University of Borneo Tarakan (UBT) Community Service Program (KKN) in Mendupo Village, Betayau Sub-district, Tana Tidung Regency, North Kalimantan, from 22 December 2025 to 30 January 2026. The activities were initiated in response to the need to strengthen village capacity in family health, children's literacy, and the use of local resources through more structured assistance. The program was carried out by UBT KKN Group 01 students in collaboration with four main institutional partners: the Mendupo Village Government, PKK/posyandu cadres, TBM managers, and Karang Taruna, while community members, children, pregnant women, and families with under-fives served as the main participants. The program integrated three priority activities: (1) the establishment and strengthening of a Family Medicinal Plant (TOGA) garden to support household health resilience; (2) revitalization of the Community Reading Park (TBM) through joyful literacy activities for children; and (3) persuasive education on stunting prevention for pregnant women and caregivers of under-fives. The method adopted a critical participatory action research (CPAR) approach covering initial coordination and situation analysis, collaborative planning with local partners, hands-on implementation, and evaluation-reflection to formulate follow-up actions. Program success was not measured through a formal pretest-posttest design; instead, formative evaluation was conducted through participatory observation, daily logbooks, documentation, question-and-answer sessions, participation records, and joint reflection with partners. Findings indicated that improved community understanding of the benefits and maintenance of medicinal plants, stronger children's engagement in TBM activities when reading was combined with creative tasks (storytelling, drawing, and coloring), and better awareness that stunting is not merely hereditary but is closely related to nutrition, caregiving, and environmental hygiene during the first 1,000 days of life. The manuscript concludes that integrating health, literacy, and local-resource empowerment through village-university partnership can strengthen community capacity and is worthy of replication in similar rural contexts.Keywords: TOGA; Community Reading Park; Stunting Prevention; KKN; Community Service.
