Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a prominent health issue in Indonesia, which ranks second in the world regarding the number of patients. Rapid tuberculosis detection is crucial for early treatment, a better prognosis, and a reduction in disease transmission; however, the availability of molecular rapid tests is limited. Cross-sectional design and retrospective analyses of pre-pandemic data from 723 patients with suspected pulmonary tuberculosis from 2017 to 2019 were conducted in this study. The study aimed to assess the performance of clinical scoring and microscopic examination in tuberculosis diagnosis at RSUD Sayang Cianjur. The effectiveness of sequential (two-stage) and simultaneous combinations of clinical scoring and sputum smear microscopic were investigated. Performance assessments consisted of 2x2 tables, calculation according to Gordis, and Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC) analysis, with GenXpert results as the gold standard. The results showed lower performance of the individually performed scoring system, with clinical scoring having a sensitivity of 34.44% and a specificity of 97.15%. Microscopic Acid Fast Bacteria (AFB) had a sensitivity of 70.20% and a specificity of 98.57%. The net sensitivity of the sequential combination was 28.48%, and the specificity was 99.05%. The net sensitivity of the simultaneous combination was 77.15%, and the specificity was 95.72%. The area under the curve from the sequential diagnostic method was 0.728, and the area under the curve of the simultaneous diagnostic was 0.884. The sequential and simultaneous combinations of clinical scoring and the AFB microscopy improved the test performance. The simultaneous combination performed slightly better than the sequential combination. DOI : 10.35990/amhs.v2n2.p63-72 REFERENCE Bagcchi S. WHO's Global Tuberculosis Report 2022. Abstract

Abstract Legal Entity State Universities (PTN-BH) have initial wealth in the form of state wealth which is separated except for land, managed autonomously, both academic and non-academic. The problems that occurred in this study were regarding the financial status of PTN-BH, especially in financial management, which had implications for the audit criteria and financial accountability of PTN-BH. The autonomy of PTN-BH management is overlapping and ambiguous so that it always reaps controversy in its implementation. The formulation of the problem in this study discusses about; Is financial management at PTN-BH included in state financial management? and to what extent is the granting of autonomy to PTN-BH Universities in financial management? This research uses the theoretical framework of legal and financial certainty of the state. This research method is normative juridical using primary data on laws and regulations. The conclusion of this study shows that the financial management of PTN-BH is not part of the direct management of state finances but PTN-BH is given the right to independently manage all the initial and acquired wealth without eliminating legal responsibility to the state.

Abstract

In the era of globalization and digitalization, marketing strategies play a crucial role in ensuring business sustainability and competitiveness. This article aims to examine the core marketing concept as the foundation for developing consumer-oriented business strategies. The research method employed is a literature study by analyzing various studies related to marketing strategies, consumer orientation, competitor orientation, and digitalization. The findings indicate that the core marketing concept is not merely a promotional tool but serves as the basis of business strategy, encompassing segmentation, positioning, and building long-term customer relationships. Both consumer and competitor orientation positively influence marketing performance, while digital and sustainability strategies enhance customer loyalty and corporate image. Furthermore, customer satisfaction is found to be more strongly influenced by product quality and location than by price and promotion. Therefore, implementing the core marketing concept with a consumer-centered approach, responsiveness to competitor dynamics, and adaptability to digital technology is essential for achieving business success in today’s global competition

Abstract

Abstract

Pteridophytes (ferns) are a fundamental element of tropical rainforests, which provide excellent microhabitats for their development. In addition, the sensitivity of pteridophytes to shifts in microclimate and anthropogenic disturbances makes them excellent environmental bioindicators. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity and distribution of pteridophytes along the elevational gradient of two well-known hiking trails of Mount Penanggungan, East Java, Indonesia. Using a 10x10 m2 plot and transect line, we examined the composition, species diversity using Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H'), relative abundance, and distribution pattern using Morisita index of dispersion (Id) of ferns along an elevational gradient (700–1500 m above sea level) on the hiking trails of Mount Penanggungan, i.e., Tamiajeng and Kunjorowesi. As many as 14 species from 7 families living in both terrestrial and arboreal types were identified. Species composition along the elevation gradient revealed a pattern of predominating species. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H') indicated a moderate level of diversity, where many pteridophytes species are found on the altitude gradient between (700-900 m dpl), and the Morisita index of dispersion (Id) indicated a clustered distribution pattern for most of the species. This pattern of diversity and distribution can be explained by changes in biotic and abiotic factors.
