Abstract

Abstract: Pendidikan hak asasi manusia (HAM) bagi narapidana di Lapas Narkotika Kelas IIA Pamekasan merupakan salah satu upaya rehabilitasi sosial yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran tentang hak-hak dasar dan kewajiban mereka sebagai warga negara. Program ini dirancang untuk memberi pemahaman yang lebih dalam kepada narapidana tentang hak asasi mereka, baik selama menjalani hukuman di lapas maupun setelah reintegrasi ke masyarakat. Program edukasi ini melibatkan penyampaian materi mengenai hak-hak dasar, kewajiban sebagai warga negara, serta perlindungan hukum yang seharusnya mereka terima, dengan pendekatan yang partisipatif dan interaktif. Pelaksanaan program dilaksanakan pada November hingga Desember 2024, dengan melibatkan 60 narapidana sebagai peserta. Metode yang digunakan mencakup seminar, diskusi kelompok, dan studi kasus, yang dirancang agar peserta dapat aktif berpartisipasi dan mengaitkan materi dengan pengalaman mereka sendiri. Evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam kesadaran narapidana mengenai hak asasi mereka, serta perubahan sikap dan pandangan mereka terhadap kewajiban yang harus mereka jalani. Program ini juga menunjukkan pentingnya peran fasilitator dan keterlibatan masyarakat luar dalam mendukung keberhasilan pendidikan HAM di lapas. Meskipun demikian, beberapa tantangan seperti keterbatasan logistik dan waktu dihadapi selama pelaksanaan. Program ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap proses rehabilitasi sosial narapidana, dan memperkuat pendekatan humanistik dalam pembinaan di lembaga pemasyarakatan. Dampaknya terlihat dari peningkatan partisipasi aktif narapidana dalam kegiatan pembinaan, terciptanya iklim interaksi yang lebih positif antara warga binaan dan petugas lapas, serta tumbuhnya kesadaran kolektif akan pentingnya penghormatan terhadap martabat manusia.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to reveal how representations of local identity are constructed in Indonesian primary school textbooks, as well as to examine the ideological dimensions hidden behind them. Using a critical qualitative approach and Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis model, this study analyzes three dimensions: text, discursive practices, and social practices. The study included Indonesian language and Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) textbooks for grades 4 to 6 of the Merdeka Curriculum edition. The findings show that textbooks consistently shape the discourse of homogeneous nationalism through diction, sentence structure, and metaphors that emphasize unity and a single national identity. Representations of local identities, such as regional figures, regional languages, and local cultural symbols, are minimal and symbolic. The intertextuality between textbooks and national curriculum documents shows the internalization of state ideology in the basic education narrative. Textbook production and distribution practices controlled by central institutions reinforce the homogenization of representations, while the underlying social practices reproduce the central hegemony over regions. These results confirm that textbooks are ideological arenas that play a role in shaping students' awareness of identity, citizenship, and culture. This research recommends the need for reformulation of curriculum policies and textbook production to be more inclusive of local identities, as well as training for writers and educators to be more sensitive to Indonesia's cultural diversity. The CDA approach has proven effective as a tool for criticizing hegemonic educational discourses and opening up space for a more culturally just education. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bagaimana representasi identitas lokal dibangun dalam buku teks sekolah dasar Indonesia, serta untuk menganalisis dimensi ideologis yang tersembunyi di baliknya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif kritis dan model Analisis Diskursus Kritis Fairclough, penelitian ini menganalisis tiga dimensi: teks, praktik diskursif, dan praktik sosial. Penelitian ini mencakup buku teks Bahasa Indonesia dan Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan dan Pancasila (PPKn) untuk kelas 4 hingga 6 edisi Kurikulum Merdeka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku teks secara konsisten membentuk diskursus nasionalisme homogen melalui pilihan kata, struktur kalimat, dan metafora yang menekankan kesatuan dan identitas nasional tunggal. Representasi identitas lokal, seperti tokoh regional, bahasa daerah, dan simbol budaya lokal, minimal dan simbolis. Intertekstualitas antara buku teks dan dokumen kurikulum nasional menunjukkan internalisasi ideologi negara dalam narasi pendidikan dasar. Praktik produksi dan distribusi buku teks yang dikendalikan oleh lembaga pusat memperkuat homogenisasi representasi, sementara praktik sosial yang mendasarinya mempertahankan hegemoni pusat atas daerah. Hasil ini menegaskan bahwa buku teks merupakan arena ideologis yang berperan dalam membentuk kesadaran siswa tentang identitas, kewarganegaraan, dan budaya. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya reformulasi kebijakan kurikulum dan produksi buku teks agar lebih inklusif terhadap identitas lokal, serta pelatihan bagi penulis dan pendidik untuk lebih sensitif terhadap keragaman budaya Indonesia. Pendekatan CDA telah terbukti efektif sebagai alat untuk mengkritik diskursus pendidikan hegemonik dan membuka ruang untuk pendidikan yang lebih adil secara budaya.

Abstract

This research aims to analyse political discourse in the media space in Indonesia using a critical discourse approach. The main objective of the research is to understand how political discourse is constructed, presented, and received in various types of media in Indonesia, as well as to reveal its impact on public opinion and the democratic process. Through critical discourse analysis, this research attempts to identify patterns, rhetorical strategies, and biases that may be contained in political narratives delivered by mass media. The research method involves collecting data from various media sources, such as newspapers, television, radio, and online platforms, which are then analysed using a critical discourse approach. The results reveal that the construction of political narratives in the Indonesian media is often influenced by certain political and economic interests, which reinforce framing in accordance with a particular agenda. In additionn, various rhetorical strategies, such as the use of emotional appeals, analogies, and emphasis on authority, are also used in political reporting to influence public opinion. The findings also show that political discourse in the media tends to accentuate opinion polarisation, political personalisation and stereotyping, which directly affects political participation and decision-making processes.

Abstract

This article analyses the representation of eco-anxiety and narratives of ecological hope in two contemporary Southeast Asian Climate fiction texts: The Fires of Tanam Alkin (2023) by Sadie Noni from Indonesia and Sigwa: Climate fiction Anthology from the Philippines (2020) edited by Paolo Enrico Melendez and Kristine Ong Muslim. This research stems from a gap in studies that have thus far focused on Climate fiction works from the Global North, while literature from Southeast Asia has rarely been studied despite the region being one of the most vulnerable to the climate crisis. Using an affective ecocritical approach and comparative archipelagic literature, this study examines how ecological trauma and eco-anxiety are mediated by the colonial, geographical, and cultural contexts of the archipelago. The analysis shows that both texts present eco-anxiety not merely as a universal fear, but as an affective-political experience influenced by colonial memory, spiritual relations with nature, and structural ecological injustice. The Fires of Tanam Alkin emphasises the ecological trauma of indigenous communities due to industrial deforestation, while Sigwa shows the plurality of voices of Filipino coastal communities facing sea flooding, ecological migration, and loss of spiritual space. The main contribution of this research is the proposal of the concept of archipelagic eco-futures, namely a framework for reading Southeast Asian Climate fiction as a space for articulating trauma and imagining an ecological future. This article demonstrates that Climate fiction can expand ecological literacy in Southeast Asia, not only as a reflection of crisis, but also as a medium for education, cultural policy, and public literacy practices to build intergenerational ecological awareness. Thus, this research opens up a new direction for global ecocritical studies and affirms the role of literature as an imaginative laboratory for an equitable and sustainable ecological future.
