Abstract

This paper aims to describe: First, the background of the rise of apartheid politics in South Africa. Second, the implementation of apartheid politics in South Africa in 2016-2019. Third, the reaction to the implementation of apartheid politics in South Africa in 2016-2019 and fourth, South Africa after the apartheid period. These four descriptions are to answer the main problem of the occurrence of racist practices in post-apartheid South Africa. The research method uses qualitative with international relations science approach. This research is a descriptive-analytic study, a research that uses a pattern of describing the state of empirical facts with descriptive arguments that are relevant. Then, the results of the description are followed by analysis to draw analytic conclusions. To identify and discuss this problem, the author uses the concept of national identity and racist theory and ethnicity theory. The results of this study indicate that: First, the emergence of apartheid politics in South Africa, was motivated by three things namely historical background, racial background of white supremacy and economic background. Second, the implementation of apartheid politics in South Africa in 2016-2019 was systematically institutionalized and contained in discriminatory laws and applied in various aspects of life, especially in the social, political and economic fields. Third, the reaction to the implementation of apartheid politics in South Africa in 2016-2019 came from within the country and abroad. Fourth, the situation in South Africa after apartheid is the emergence of Xenophobia and its impact on the economic, social and political fields. The practice of racism in South Africa still exists where they still consider racial and skin differences to be very strong and whites still feel they are superior to blacks. This has caused South Africa to be underdeveloped in the economic, political and social fields.

Abstract

The world's energy sources have undergone several changes, from initially the majority used biomass to fossils which were triggered by the industrial revolution in the 1900s. The higher use of fossil energy causes an increase in greenhouse gas emissions. One alternative that can be done is the use of solar power plants. An example of its use is in fulfilling electrical energy as lighting with the use of electrical energy which still uses small power. Makassar Aviation Polytechnic together with Airnav Indonesia, collaborates in terms of utilizing solar-based renewable energy implemented in Mapanget Village, North Sulawesi. As for some points in this location, there is still minimal lighting so that it is prone to accidents and crime. The method used in this community service activity is the provision of knowledge about solar cells, solar cell wiring diagrams, and how to check and repair solar-based public street lighting. The results obtained from this community service are that people understand, can install and repair solar cell-based public street lighting. In conclusion, the existence of public street lighting on some roads in Mapanget Village can reduce the accident rate and provide a sense of security for the community when crossing the road

Abstract

In this study, we designed a wind direction indicator learning media to help cadets understand how the equipment works. Wind direction indicator is used as a navigation tool for pilots to determine the direction of landing on the airport runway. This research was conducted at the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic with research and development methods. The object of research is the cadets of the airport engineering study program. The results showed that the cadets were very enthusiastic in learning these tools, and increased their knowledge and competence in the field of visual landing aids navigation at airports. With the increase in the competence of cadets, it is hoped that it will support flight safety in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) examine the differences in learning outcomes of programmable logic controllers between cadets who use problem-based learning strategies assisted by mockup media and problem-based learning strategies, (2) examine the differences in learning outcomes of programmable logic controllers between cadets who have high and low initial abilities, and (3) examine the interaction effect between learning strategies and initial abilities on learning outcomes of programmable logic controllers. This research uses a 2 x 2 factorial design with the object of research being the 3rd-semester airport electrical engineering study program students at Aviation Polytechnic Surabaya. The sample of this research includes 47 students of the TLB 11 AB class as the experimental group of problem-based learning strategy assisted by mockup media and 46 students of the TLB 12AB class as the control group of problem-based learning strategy. A learning outcomes test collected the data on learning outcomes in the form of multiple choice. Learning outcomes data were analyzed using two-tailed ANOVA (analysis of variance). The results showed that there is a significant difference in learning outcomes of the programmable logic controller between cadets who learn using problem-based learning assisted by mockup media and problem-based learning, there is a significant difference in learning outcomes of the programmable logic controller between cadets who have high and low initial abilities, there is no interaction effect between learning strategies and cadets' initial abilities on learning outcomes of the programmable logic controller. This research can contribute to improving students' understanding and skills in the field of PLC. Through practical experience and relevant projects, students can develop a deeper understanding of PLC concepts and improve their technical skills in designing, implementing, and solving problems related to PLC systems.

Abstract

This study aims to achieve harmonization of Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK) through standardization of teaching materials at UPT PPSDMPU in the Air Navigation Technology Study Program, and improve the competence of cadets with teaching material books. The method used is the S. Thiagrajan development model modified from 4-D to 3-D, with a focus on the Development stage (Develop) to produce learning modules that are valid and ready to be implemented, as well as for time and cost efficiency. The results showed that the learning module developed was declared valid by expert validators, met the criteria of very practical based on student responses, and proved effective through pre-test and post-test tests, so it is feasible to use in the learning process to support the quality of education.

Abstract

Purpose – Blended Learning in the Aerodrome & Heliport course combines theory and practice flexibly and interactively. Conventional methods are less effective due to the lack of active involvement and limited access to learning materials. This study aims to develop blended learning-based learning materials to improve student competency in the Aerodrome & Heliport course at the Makassar Aviation Polytechnic. In addition, this study was conducted due to the low academic achievement of students, with 20% failing the course.Methodology – The research used the Research and Development (R&D) model. However, only the first three stages are worked on: define, design, and develop. This research involves 24 air transport management diploma program students as respondents and two radio aids to air navigation instructor respondents. Data were collected through survey, interview, observation, and documentation. Assessments from experts on blended Learning and aviation education using qualitative and quantitative analysis methods were conducted to assess the validity of the developed teaching materials.Findings – The study demonstrated that blended Learning considerably raised student proficiency. The methodically created instructional materials received a high validity grade from specialists who rated them as "Very Valid" (Va ≥ 0.80). Additionally, the study discovered that using interactive teaching resources—like video tutorials, simulations, and structured learning modules—helped students comprehend complex ideas.Contribution – On a practical level, this study provides real solutions to address learning challenges in aviation vocational education by combining online and in-person Learning. The teaching materials developed can be used as a model by other similar institutions to design tech-based curricula that meet industry needs. Theoretically, the study deepens our understanding of how effective blended Learning can be in technical education, especially in aviation, by emphasizing the need for flexible instructional design that supports higher-order thinking Skills (HOTS).

Abstract

The rapid growth of the aviation industry also presents significant challenges regarding environmental impact. In Indonesia, airports are facing pressure to reduce their carbon footprint and improve overall sustainability. This research aims to provide a clear picture of the policies and challenges of implementing sustainable airports in Indonesia. A systematic literature review was carried out using PRISMA guidelines, which aims to analyze knowledge regarding sustainability at airports. This research uses the Google Scholar database, Scopus from Elsevier, the Web of Science database from Clarivate, and the 2023 PT Angkasa Pura I and II sustainability reports. The results of the research show that sustainable airport policies focus on developing environmentally friendly airports by prioritizing environmental management and collaborating with various stakeholders. Environmentally sustainable airports have been implemented, but they are limited to large airports in Indonesia.

Abstract

Exercise has become an essential necessity as its benefits in one's physical development have been widely recognized. In addition, regular exercise also makes a positive contribution to mental health by reducing stres levels. Aeromodelling is a type of educational exercise that can reduce stres. Even so, interest in the aerospace sport is still low due to a lack of understanding of its benefits. Through aeromodelling training, especially among students, participants are introduced to the basic concepts of flight. In addition to training creativity, these activities can improve participants' analytical skills, because they learn to design and test aircraft models to fly stable and long through thermodynamic calculations and other scientific approaches, so that physics education can also be absorbed in an applicative and fun way.

Abstract

CV. Jaya Abadi Furniture merupakan industri manufaktur yang bergerak dibidang furniture. Permasalahan yang terjadi yaitu pada saat produksi meja terlalu lama sehingga menghambat waktu proses produksi meja menyebabkan tidak tercapainya target. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Lean Manufacturing dengan menggunakan Value Stream Mapping yang bertujuan menganalis penyebab Waste (Pemborosan) pada produksi meja. Hasil analisa yang menjadi penyebab Waste (Pemborosan) diantaranya waktu menunggu saat proses press cukup lama sehingga dilakukan usulan perbaikan dengan menggunakan alat press yang sudah menggunakan pengatur tekanan suhu sehingga dapat mempercepat proses press dari proses sebelumnya. Perubahan yang terjadi dengan adanya alat press yang sudah menggunakan pengatur tekanan suhu tersebut dapat mengurangi waktu pengeringan produk meja dari yang semula memiliki waktu keseluruhan produksi sebesar dari 241,962,6 detik atau 67,21 jam menjadi 143.119 detik atau sebesar 39,75 jam

Abstract

On Time Performance (OTP) merupakan ukuran kinerja dalam memberikan layanan secara tepat waktu. Dalam penerbangan, OTP merupakan hal terpenting yang sangat mempengaruhi kualitas layanan transportasi. Namun informasi ini jarang disampaikan secara real time kepada calon penumpang sehingga manfaat informasi tersebut kurang maksimal bagi para pengguna jasa transportasi udara. Penelitian ini bertujuan membuat desain sistem informasi OTP dengan studi kasus Bandar Udara Internasional Juanda sebagai bandar udara tersibuk ketiga di Indonesia. Desain sistem informasi OTP dibuat dalam bentuk purwarupa website sehingga dapat diakses secara mudah, up to date, lebih detail, dan real time. Dalam perancangan dan pembangunan sistem informasi OTP ini, penulis menggunakan metodeprototype. Alur proses dari metode ini yaitu analisis kebutuhan, perancangan sistem, pengujian sistem, launching sistem, dan evaluasi sistem. Data OTP penerbangan diambil dari PT Angkasa Pura 1 Bandar Udara Juanda Surabaya untuk diolah dan ditampilkan di sistem OTP. Pada evaluasi sistem, dilakukan penilaian kinerja purwarupa sistem informasi OTP ini dengan kerangka kerja PIECES. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa desain sistem informasi OTP sudah cukup baik. Di masa depan, sistem OTP ini dapat diaplikasikan dalam skala yang lebih luas untuk memberikan informasi yang lebih bermanfaat bagi pengguna jasa penerbangan.
