This study produced a simulator for education and training in Foam Tender Operation and Defensive Driving and to find out whether learning outcomes using simulators are better than students who do not use simulators. The study uses the Research and Development (R & D) method. The research was conducted at the Palembang Aviation Training and Training Center on students in Foam Tender Operation and Defensive Driving, Aviation Accident Aid and Fire Fighting (PKP-PK). The trial design used was quasi-experimental post-test only control group design. The findings of the study, namely the simulator learning media categorized as very feasible to use in learning with a percentage value of 81.67%. Student responses after using simulators are categorized very well with a percentage of 85%. Students who are taught using media or experimental classes have better learning outcomes by obtaining greater scores than students who do not use simulators. From the results above, it can be said that the development of simulator learning media is feasible to use and the response of students using simulator learning media is very good.

Abstract: This study is to describe the conditions of digital literacy activities in Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic employees at work. Respondents are all employees of the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic. Data were collected by interview and questionnaire. The research was conducted with a qualitative method using a descriptive approach. The results of the study reveal that the activities of the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic employees make digital literacy a means to help carry out work in the office. Apart from working, employees also use digital media to communicate, coordinate and seek pleasure. With this research, it is hoped that it will become an input for the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic to increase the literacy of digital employees so that it will improve employee performance to achieve the vision of the organization Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menggambarkan kondisi aktivitas literasi digital pegawai Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang dalam bekerja. Responden adalah seluruh pegawai Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner dan wawancara. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan deskriftif. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan aktivitas pegawai Politeknik Penerbangan palembang mejadikan literasi digital sebagai sarana untuk membantu melaksanakan pekerjaan di kantor. Selain untuk bekerja, pegawai juga menggunakan literasi media digital untuk berkomunikasi, berkoordinasi dan mencari kesenangan. Dengan adanya penilitian ini diharapkan menjadi bahan masukan bagi manajemen Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang untuk lebih meningkatkan literasi digital para pegawai, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kinerja para pegawai dalam mencapai visi organisasi.

Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) is mandatory for 5 flight operators, one of which is the airport as mandated by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO Doc 9859, 2019). Palembang Aviation Polytechnic as a work unit in charge of providing training in aviation, through community service activities, implementing Safety Management System Training for 25 participants with different work backgrounds from UPBU Gusti Syamsir Alam, Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan Province. This training is given using lecture methods, project-based learning and group presentations. The training provides increased understanding in the field of the Safety Management System with the result of obtaining a comprehensive exam with 84.96 as the average score. 36% of participants successfully passed with honors, and 64% with Good honors.

Petunjuk arah angin di bandar udara digunakan oleh penerbang untuk menentukan arah pendaratan maupun lepas landas pesawat udara. Penunjuk arah angin sebagai alat bantu navigasi dibandar udara perannya sangat penting bagi keselamatan penerbangan. Untuk mengingkatkan kompetensi sumber daya manusia bidang penerbangan khususnya mengenai pemeliharaan peralatan penunjuk arah angin ini, maka perlu di buat media pembelajaran bagi taruna Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang. Maka penulis merancang media pembelajaran windsock light dengan tenaga surya untuk membantu para taruna dalam memahami cara kerja alat tersebut. Peralatan tersebut menggunakan listrik tenaga surya sebagai energi alternatif yang ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di politeknik Penerbangan Palembang dengan metode research and development. Objek penelitian adalah para taruna program studi rekayasa bandar udara. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan para taruna sangat antusias dalam mempelajari alat tersebut, dan menambah pengetahuan serta kompetensi dalam bidang peralatan penunjuk arah angin di bandar udara. Dengan bertambahnya kompetensi taruna, diharapkan akan mendukung keselamatan penerbangan di Indonesia.

In the era of education 4.0 which is characterized by the use of digital technology, the learning process is not limited to space and time. This allows the implementation of distance learning as a springboard for a new educational model. The Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic is a vocational education institution under the supervision of Direktorat Kelaikudaraan dan Pengoperasian Pesawat Udara (DKPPU). DKPPU as the airworthiness and operation authority has issued letter regarding the online learning system method due to the covid pandemic. One of the determining factors for the success of learning process is the use of appropriate learning media. The choice of learning media influenced by the characteristics of the learner. Therefore, it is important to know the learning styles of students. Thus, this study aims to determine the learning style tendencies of Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic cadets to obtain recommendations for selecting the right media in distance learning. The data collection process involved 900 cadets who were asked to fill out a learning style questionnaire which would later be analyzed quantitatively. For data triangulation, interview sessions were also held for selected cadets. From the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic cadets tended to have visual learning styles (54% or 485 cadets) and auditory (13% or 121 cadets). So, the media recommendations are audio/video tutorials, interactive multimedia, and simulator software. However, a total of 126 cadets do not know their learning styles. They need to be assisted in-class during class learning to increase achievement motivation.

Solar Power Plant is an alternative energy source that continues to grow as a substitute for environmentally friendly electrical energy sources in the future. In order to disseminate information and how to install this equipment, it is necessary to conduct training for the community. Thus the public will be more concerned about this renewable energy. This method of community service is by providing training to the community. First, the participants were given theoretical training by first being given a module, then explained with lectures and discussions. Then practice is done by being given a set of solar panel equipment to all participants. They are guided to install the solar panel until it can function. Thus, community service activities were declared successful in increasing the knowledge and skills of the participants. It is hoped that with the increased knowledge and skills of participants, this renewable energy can be used more and more to make the earth cleaner from carbon emissions. Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya merupakan sumber energi alternatif yang terus berkembang sebagai pengganti sumber energi listrik yang ramah lingkungan di masa yang akan datang. Tujuan dari kegitan ini adalah untuk menyebarluaskan informasi dan cara pemasangan peralatan solar cell, kepada masyarakat. Dengan demikian masyarakat akan semakin peduli terhadap energi terbarukan ini. Metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dengan cara memberikan pelatihan kepada masyarakat secara teori dan praktik. Pertama para peserta diberikan pelatihan secara teori dengan terlebih dahulu diberikan modul, kemudian di jelaskan dengan ceramah dan diskusi. Kemudian dilakukan praktik dengan diberikan peralatan satu set solar panel kepada seluruh peserta. Mereka dibimbing untuk menginstalasi solar panel tersebut sampai dengan dapat berfungsi. Hasil dari pelatihan ini, semua peserta dinyatakan lulus. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dinyatakan berhasil mengingkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan para peserta. Diharapkan dengan meningkatnya pengetahuan dan ketarampilan peserta, energi terbarukan ini dapat semakin banyak digunakan menjadikan bumi ini semakin bersih dari emisi karbon

In designing material requirements, it is very important to do so that the use of materials becomes effective and efficient. Building materials are an important component in producing a reliable quality building structure. One of the efforts made to ensure the quality of building materials is to carry out material tests in the laboratory. The Palembang Aviation Polytechnic materials laboratory performs the testing procedure manually using a calculator or Microsoft Excel. Manual test calculations pose potential problems (error calculation) and must be well-documented. A materials testing calculation application is made for data processing to get better results and more efficient and effective calculations. The research aims to optimize the data processing of building materials testing using an application so that it is more efficient and effective and the data can be well documented. The material was used to calculate fine aggregate and coarse aggregate tests. The research has implemented a web-based Smart Material Test application using the programming language PHP Version 7, Laravel 8 Framework, and MySQL Database to optimize material testing that is more accurate and well-documented. The results show of testing the application, as many as 50 trials for each test found no application errors, and the average calculation difference was 0.0005 or 0.01744%. Thus, the application is very useful in assisting the calculation of building material testing.

Purpose of this study is to determine the character formation of discipline and responsibility through cadet parenting that has been carried out at the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic. The parenting pattern is carried out by applying a strict schedule to the daily activities of the cadets based on the Cadets Code of Conduct. The research method is a qualitative research with a descriptive research model, to see how to strengthen the character of Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic cadets through parenting patterns. Collecting data by interview, observation and documentation. The results of the study show that the parenting pattern that is carried out can shape the character of discipline and responsibility for the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic cadets. Based on this research, the formation of the character of discipline and responsibility of cadets can be formed through parenting patterns. So that parenting patterns can continue to be carried out with further development to shape future generations in the aviation sector in Indonesia.

In this study, we designed a wind direction indicator learning media to help cadets understand how the equipment works. Wind direction indicator is used as a navigation tool for pilots to determine the direction of landing on the airport runway. This research was conducted at the Palembang Civil Aviation Polytechnic with research and development methods. The object of research is the cadets of the airport engineering study program. The results showed that the cadets were very enthusiastic in learning these tools, and increased their knowledge and competence in the field of visual landing aids navigation at airports. With the increase in the competence of cadets, it is hoped that it will support flight safety in Indonesia.
