Abstract

Pancasila Education instruction in elementary schools is still dominated by conventional teaching methods, resulting in a learning process that is unengaging and fails to actively involve students. This study aims to examine the development of the Smart Slide Box teaching aid for the fifth-grade Pancasila Education course at Al Ishlah Elementary School. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The data collection techniques used included observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The research instruments consisted of a media expert validation sheet, a subject matter expert validation sheet, and a student response questionnaire. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis in the form of percentages to determine the media’s suitability level. The results of the study indicate that the Smart Slide Box media received a media expert validation percentage of 96.66% and a subject matter expert validation percentage of 94.28%, both categorized as “highly suitable.” In addition, the results of the small-group pilot test yielded a percentage of 90.4%, and the large-group pilot test yielded 92.44%, both categorized as “acceptable” and “highly acceptable.” These results indicate that the Smart Slide Box media is suitable for use in Pancasila Education instruction, has received positive feedback from students, and can serve as an alternative instructional medium for Pancasila Education in fifth-grade elementary school.

Abstract

The cultivation of nationalism among students has become increasingly important amid the rapid advancement of globalization and digital technology, which has influenced the attitudes and behavior of younger generations. Civic Education (PPKn) plays a strategic role in strengthening students' national identity and fostering the values embodied in the third principle of Pancasila, namely the Unity of Indonesia. This study aimed to examine how nationalism values are implemented through Civic Education learning at MA Al Fattahiyyah and to identify the factors influencing their implementation. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that nationalism values are integrated into classroom instruction, teachers' role modeling, school routines, flag ceremonies, and other school cultural activities. These practices contribute to the development of students' patriotism, discipline, responsibility, mutual respect, cooperation, and appreciation of diversity. Nevertheless, the implementation is still challenged by the influence of globalization, the excessive use of social media, limited parental supervision, and varying levels of students' awareness. Therefore, collaboration among schools, families, and the wider community is essential to strengthen the internalization of nationalism values and promote the practical implementation of the third principle of Pancasila in students' daily lives.
