Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya perkembangan bahasa Inggris anak di Taman Kanak-kanak Mawar Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Kurangnya keterampilan guru untuk memperkenalkan dan mengucapkan bahasa Inggris dengan benar kepada anak. Saat belajar bahasa Inggris di taman kanak-kanak, guru hanya menggunakan flashcard berbasis kertas. Selain itu, guru jarang menggunakan teknologi dalam media pembelajaran anak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh media flashcard digital terhadap peningkatan kosakata bahasa Inggris pada anak Taman Kanak-kanak Mawar Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa Taman Kanak-kanak Mawar Kabupaten Padang Pariaman, dan sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas B1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan 11 anak dan kelas B2 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan 11 anak. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, pretest dan postest dan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis dengan bantuan komputerisasi IBM SPSS statistic 25. Temuan berdasarkan analisis data pada uji normalitas, data yang diperoleh pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol berdistribusi normal. Tabel uji homogenitas menghasilkan nilai 0,856 dan dapat disimpulkan bahwa data yang diperoleh homogen. Uji hipotesis didapatkan nilai sig (2 tailed) sebesar 0,127 < 0,05. Berdasarkan ini, media flashcard digital efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan kosakata bahasa Inggris anak di taman Kanak-kanak Mawar Kabupaten Padang Pariaman.

Abstract

Permainan pola suku kata adalah pembelajaran membaca awal yang diawali dengan menyajikan suku kata kemudian anak diminta mencari gambar sesuai dengan yang mereka inginkan dan dibelakang gambar sudah tercantum pola kata. Penelitian ini berawal dari kenyataan bahwa kurangnya kemampuan membaca anak di Taman Kanak-kanak Mutiara Ananda Tabing Padang. Hal ini menunjukkan masih ada anak kesulitan dalam mengenal huruf, membedakan huruf, menghubungkan huruf menjadi kata dan bahkan masih ada anak yang belum bisa menyebutkan huruf dari tulisan namanya sendiri. Penelitian ini berjenis kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen dalam bentuk quashi eksperimen (eksperimen semu). Seluruh anak Taman Kanak-kanak Mutiara Ananda merupakan populasi dalam penelitia yang dilkaukan yang berjumlah 42 orang. Kelas B1 sampel kontrol, dan B2 sebagai sampel eksperimen masing-masing berjumlah 12 orang. Purpposive sampling merupkan teknik dari penelitian ini. adapun teknik pengumpulan dataa menggunakan tes perbuatan dan tes lisan. Alat pengumpulan data berupa lembaran pernyataan selanjutnya data diolah dengan uji perbuatan (t-test). Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh rata-rata hasil tes kelompok eksperimen adalah 76,04 sedangkan kelas kontrol adalah 68,22. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan permainan pola suku kata efektif terhadap kemampuan membaca anak di Taman Kanak-kanak Mutiara Ananda tahun ajaran 2018/2019.

Abstract

Early reading is an integrated activity that includes a number of activities, from recognizing letters, understanding words, reading letters along with the sounds and meanings contained, and drawing conclusions from a reading. One of the ICT media that is considered effective and interesting for developing children's early reading skills is Canva-based interactive multimedia. This media stimulates a learning experience that makes children happy, so that it can encourage their interest in learning, especially for those who experience delays in recognizing letters, words, and the relationship between sound and meaning. This study aims to investigate the extent to which Canva-based interactive multimedia influences children's early reading skills at Wahana Harapan Bangsa 1 Kindergarten, Padang City. The quantitative approach through its method is in the form of a quasi-experiment. Referring to the results of the post-test hypothesis test, a significance value of 136> 0.05 was obtained, which indicates that the data from both classes are homogeneous. Furthermore, the t-test results show its significance (2-tailed) with a value of 0.006 for equal variances assumed and 0.009 for equal variances not assumed, both of which are> 0.05. The research findings indicate a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. This means that the hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and (Ho) is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of Canva-based interactive multimedia has a significant impact on improving children's early reading skills.

Abstract

Students' struggles with letter recognition when they are five or six years old in kindergarten serve as the impetus for this study. Many kids still have trouble learning to recognize individual letters, distinguish between them, and associate them with their sounds, so clearly this is a problem. Furthermore, engaging and diverse learning materials are still not enough to support the continuous learning process. Finding out how using kopin media (smart box) affects letter recognition in 5-6 year olds in Pertiwi 3 Kindergarten Padang is the main goal of this study. This research makes use of a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental methodology. All of the students of Pertiwi 3 Kindergarten Padang make up the study's population. The sample for this study consists of 26 students from B1 and B2 courses. The data was gathered through careful observation, as well as performance testing and documentation. Hypothesis testing, homogeneity tests, and normality tests were used to analyze the data. Based on the findings of the hypothesis test, the two-tailed sig value is 0.000 < 0.05. According to the study's findings, Ha is accepted and H0 is denied. Children at Pertiwi 3 Kindergarten, Padang, Indonesia, who are five or six years old, demonstrate a remarkable improvement in their letter recognition skills after using the Kopin media (smart box).

Abstract

Introducing English to early childhood learners should involve engaging and enjoyable media that align with their learning characteristics, making instructional media an essential component in the learning process. This study aims to examine the significant effect of using flipbook media on children’s English pronunciation at Kemala Bhayangkari 3 Kindergarten, Alai Padang. The research employed a quantitative method with an experimental approach, involving a sample of 12 children from class B3. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments, as well as observation and documentation, and were analyzed using SPSS version 22. The findings indicate an improvement in the average scores from the pretest to the posttest, with the mean score increasing from 7 to 19. Furthermore, the results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the use of flipbook media has a statistically significant effect on children’s English pronunciation.
