Abstract

This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to improve the numeracy literacy of elementary school students who still show low achievement in numeracy assessments, especially in Badung Regency. One of the strategies implemented is "Bincang Numerasi", which is an interactive learning approach that invites students to discuss, analyze, and relate mathematical concepts to everyday life. The method of implementing the activity includes training and mentoring teachers in compiling and implementing numeracy teaching modules based on the Merdeka Curriculum, integrating technology in learning, and strengthening the management of digital libraries to support access to numeracy teaching materials. In addition, this strategy also involves the active role of parents and the community in supporting the habituation of numeracy discussions in the home and community environment. The results of the activity show an increase in students' numeracy abilities, an increase in teacher competence in compiling and implementing contextual learning, and the formation of a numeracy learning culture in partner schools. The implementation of the "Bincang Numerasi" strategy also has a positive impact on the management of learning resources and digital libraries in schools. Thus, this strategy is effectively implemented as a solution to increase numeracy literacy in elementary schools, especially those facing the challenge of low numeracy achievement.

Abstract

Balinese puppetry is an intangible cultural heritage containing philosophical, aesthetic, moral, and spiritual values important to society. However, technological advancements and changing entertainment preferences have led to a decline in interest among the younger generation, particularly Gen Z, in puppetry. Gen Z is more interested in digital content, thus limiting their exposure to traditional arts. This Community Service (PKM) activity responds to this situation through a revitalization program that combines a practical approach, creative workshops, digital content training, and mentoring by young puppeteers to increase participant motivation and interest. The activity methods include explanations of the history and philosophy of puppetry, demonstrations of puppetry techniques, character play practice, cultural content creation, and final project mentoring. The results of the activity indicate an increase in participants' knowledge, motivation, basic puppetry skills, and digital participation. This program has a sustainable impact through the formation of a student community that cares about puppetry and increased exposure to puppetry in digital media.

Abstract

This community service program aims to provide education and training in eco-enzyme production as an effort to improve household waste management capabilities in the Banjar Prajasari area. The phenomenon of organic waste accumulation and environmental pollution is due to low public awareness regarding waste management. One simple, environmentally friendly product produced through the fermentation of fruit and vegetable waste that can be used as a versatile solution is known as Eco-enzyme. The Eco-enzyme production training was conducted through three activities: the first involved educational activities on household waste management, the second involved a hands-on eco-enzyme production workshop, and the third involved a twenty-day fermentation mentoring process. Data collection included observation, pre- and post-program knowledge assessments, and participant interviews. The results of the education and training on eco-enzymes showed a significant increase in public understanding of waste sorting, organic waste utilization, and eco-enzyme processing techniques. The community demonstrated positive behavioral changes in an effort to reduce household waste and successfully independently produce eco-enzymes. The conclusion of this activity is that community empowerment through the implementation of sustainable waste management activities and practical, effective, and efficient participatory education can increase public awareness in managing waste in the household environment. Keywords: eco-enzymes, household waste management, environmental awareness

Abstract

ABSTRACT Educational philosophy plays a strategic role in the formation of professional teachers, particularly within the context of the Teacher Professional Education Program (Program Pendidikan Profesi Guru PPG), which has tended to emphasize technical and instructional aspects. This article aims to conceptually examine the role of educational philosophy as a foundational framework for developing reflective and humanistic teachers in PPG. The study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method through the analysis of reputable scholarly books, peer-reviewed journal articles, and relevant educational policy documents. The findings indicate that educational philosophy functions as a value-based framework that shapes the orientation and objectives of teacher education and has direct implications for the selection and design of learning models in PPG. The integration of educational philosophical traditions such as idealism, progressivism, humanism, constructivism, and critical philosophy strengthens reflective, humanistic, and contextual learning approaches oriented toward ethical and humanistic values. The conceptual synthesis of this study underscores that strengthening educational philosophy should be positioned as an integrative foundation in PPG, ensuring that the development of professional teachers is not reduced to technical skills training but becomes a reflective, humanistic, and value-oriented educational process

Abstract

Tembang is also a literary art form that is highly worthy of understanding and study. There are four groups of tembang in Bali: Sekar Rare (gegendingan), Sekar Alit (macepat), Sekar Madya (kekidungan), and Sekar Agung (kekawin). The last three groups have standard patterns and structures, while the first group (gegendingan) has a non-standard pattern and structure, resulting in variable forms. Tembang is considered the simplest by the Balinese people, and is often called children's gegendingan or nyayian dolanan (playful songs). The role of tembang, as one of the mainstays of the preservation of traditional songs like gegendingan, has also undergone a shift. Children are accustomed to communicating in Indonesian from an early age, both at school and by their parents at home, even if their mothers and fathers are also village people. This is especially true in cities, resulting in increasingly shallow and limited use and mastery of the Balinese language, especially the community's mastery of the Balinese script. The traditional practice of parents singing lullabies to babies to sleep is no longer based on gegending, but has been replaced by modernized songs with diatonic tones. Most children have never been exposed to traditional songs, which is why they seem to dislike them. Therefore, gegending songs and traditional children's games need to be introduced to prevent the gap from worsening. Based on all the sad news above, researchers conclude that Balinese gegending has not completely disappeared; there are still opportunities for its revival (re-actualization). However, this is not the researcher's intention to reminisce or preserve the beauty of the past. Reactualization means "discovering its positive aspects and finding alternative formats that are more relevant to current circumstances." This paper is focused on exploring possible steps and concepts for reactualizing gegending for children.
